    Hi Steve, nice work. Do you have any background on the relationship between filter 'Q' and filter volume? I know the greater the volume, the greater the Q, but could do with the maths to link the two!

    • @steveedwards90
      @steveedwards90  4 года назад +1

      Sorry don't have access to the maths but you are correct the greater the volume the higher the Q these did not quite work needed an extra cavity on both to achieve 1.6mhz seperation as they stood 7.6 mhz was easy

      @@steveedwards90 hi Steve, thank you for these videos. So, you HAVE succesfully used 3 of theese cavities on each side for the 1.6MHz repeater shift? With the actual repeater?

      @steveedwards90  4 года назад +3

      @ no I only ever made 4 2rx 2tx my tests showed for 1.6mhz 3 a side would be needed for 7.6 2 a side would be effective sorry I did not pursue this project as diagnosed with throat cancer so all on hold be safe

      Steve says it's "Vhf manual, circa 1992", but I couldn't find anything. It would be interesting to find a photo of the cover to figure out exactly what version it is.
