The part Shakur is failing to realize is most of his criticism comes from the fact he says he is going to knock this guy out or going to do this or that to a person in the ring and when the fights come he doesn’t live up to what he said. Excellent interview. Shakur is engaging and a very intelligent young man who has the character and talent to be the face of the sport. I pray he gets there. His next move is important and I hope it is to Matchroom Boxing with Eddie Hearn. This young MAN has it all.
I use to think I was going to win a lot of money on that fight. That was before Shakur’s last two fights. It seems Shakur doesn’t like to be hit. & that’s a real problem. I’m happy that fight didn’t happen because I would’ve lost a lot of money

And Arum has a track record all of the best fighters did much better once they left him. Arums biggest misrepresented fighter was Crawford. It's horrible what he did to Bud. Bud should've became a household name 7 years ago. Bud was supposed to fight Manny Pacquiao and Bob blocked that fight. We're NEVER going to be treated fairly because of the God's we are. I watched the Artem fight twice to make sure I wasnt just jumping on the Shakur hate train. Hes actually boring. 1.) He rarely punched in between Artem. Just shelled up while he was throwing punches then initiated his own offense once Artem was done. 2.) He only throws 2 punch combinations max 3.) He doesnt try to get the TKO when he has him hurt.
Shakur's last fight was only disappointing because he didn't show me anything new. But prior to the fight, i knew he had the skills to be one of the best. And i still believe he is one of the best.

Glad to see Andre Ward finding success as a great interviewer. I really hate when the person that is interviewing not know anything about boxing. This opens up a space for those great fighter in retirement to continue on in boxing. So many stories when a fighter loses boxing he loses himself. Like me and many other fighters. Casuals do it realize that boxing is a marathon. The longer you can last in the sport the possibility to earn more money increases. But so many obstacles that can hinder you for your average fighter. Shakur. Just from what I see. He is very talented and skilled. The look in his face though when he's fighting; looking scared in the eyes, making that face. It looks like he is afraid to get hit. He very rarely slips a punch and tags you anymore. He totally avoids the mix up. He evades to the point where it's like resetting. Super intelligent feet, but not letting his hands fly. All that can be improved upon. He's got to get off that bike, sit down on his punches and go. That's what I keep tuning in to see. The old Bob Arum didn't hepl much either with opposition selection to showcase his skills. He'll get it together soon though. Shakur has the tools to be great.
He is a good dude. That's really easy to go against in this social media world. He is a super talented hard working confident competitive young dude. He believes in his skills more so than most boxers, he wants the smoke and will have to be protected from himself at times. I'm a fan of the skills and the kid.

That tank fight gotta happen soon! and Salute to Ward i'm not sure I have ever seen an interviewer who was actually a champion and knows the ins and outs of the game. It's usually a boxing fan doing the interviews. Even Tyson had another person asking questions on hot boxing. Ward is a natural and great at balancing talking and listening. You cant be an interviewer talking all the time. You have to let the person talk. Nore is a victim of that alot and Vlad. Talking too much. Yes give your insight but let the person talk. It should be 30% interviewer(if you have something to offer) and 70% guest. If you have no input , be quiet. A great example of this is Art of Dialogue. He starts off with the question and sits back. He will interject if he has something to offer but otherwise he lets the guest go. Again great job ward. Keep em coming.
Man i like Shakur but he need to stop with the cap. De Los Santos was engaging with him so he can't blame him for his performance. He was just scared, and once he felt his power, and realized he was just at good at countering and just as fast as him, all he could do is run and fight him the way he fought. He tried to blame Artem for not engaging when Artem was stepping to him all night. He is just too defensive and cares about winning more than pleasing the fans who paid hard earned money to come watch. Which is why his stock is going down and nobody don't wanna watch him. He also needs to stop comparing himself to Loma, cause Loma is exciting and lets his hands go. He don't stand there flinching for 12 rounds and throwing 8 punches a round.

Long story short he has less experience and skills than tank. Tank is a complete fighter, Shakur is not a complete fighter and struggled in every fight at 135.

The examples he uses are imprecise in my opinion. Loma made a "legend of the sport" (Rigo) quit on his stool after half a fight. Loma drops fighters and fought an 11 year younger, and bigger superchampion in Haney and still brought the heat. Usyk might have some boring fights, but then again he has tons of exciting ones as well in his resume. I hope this guys' race-focus doesn't stop him from becoming a great.

I watched the Artem fight twice to make sure I wasnt just jumping on the Shakur hate train. Hes actually boring.
1.) He rarely punched in between Artem. Just shelled up while he was throwing punches then initiated his own offense once Artem was done.
2.) He only throws 2 punch combinations max
3.) He doesnt try to get the TKO when he has him hurt.

This opens up a space for those great fighter in retirement to continue on in boxing. So many stories when a fighter loses boxing he loses himself. Like me and many other fighters. Casuals do it realize that boxing is a marathon. The longer you can last in the sport the possibility to earn more money increases. But so many obstacles that can hinder you for your average fighter. Shakur. Just from what I see. He is very talented and skilled. The look in his face though when he's fighting; looking scared in the eyes, making that face. It looks like he is afraid to get hit. He very rarely slips a punch and tags you anymore. He totally avoids the mix up. He evades to the point where it's like resetting. Super intelligent feet, but not letting his hands fly. All that can be improved upon. He's got to get off that bike, sit down on his punches and go. That's what I keep tuning in to see. The old Bob Arum didn't hepl much either with opposition selection to showcase his skills. He'll get it together soon though. Shakur has the tools to be great.

That tank fight gotta happen soon! and Salute to Ward i'm not sure I have ever seen an interviewer who was actually a champion and knows the ins and outs of the game. It's usually a boxing fan doing the interviews. Even Tyson had another person asking questions on hot boxing. Ward is a natural and great at balancing talking and listening. You cant be an interviewer talking all the time. You have to let the person talk. Nore is a victim of that alot and Vlad. Talking too much. Yes give your insight but let the person talk. It should be 30% interviewer(if you have something to offer) and 70% guest. If you have no input , be quiet. A great example of this is Art of Dialogue. He starts off with the question and sits back. He will interject if he has something to offer but otherwise he lets the guest go. Again great job ward. Keep em coming.
Man i like Shakur but he need to stop with the cap. De Los Santos was engaging with him so he can't blame him for his performance. He was just scared, and once he felt his power, and realized he was just at good at countering and just as fast as him, all he could do is run and fight him the way he fought. He tried to blame Artem for not engaging when Artem was stepping to him all night. He is just too defensive and cares about winning more than pleasing the fans who paid hard earned money to come watch. Which is why his stock is going down and nobody don't wanna watch him.
