Superman the god of all superheroes. Everyone has loved Superman once in their life. A men in a cap flaying around with all the power in his hands. It’s amazing. And you draw him like a master as always. Congrats Frank 👍
It is sad that Superman has fallen of the cultural zeitgeist and Batman has taken over. Not that I hate Batman, but Superman is the poster boy for DC and for superheroes in general. I would love to see him rise to prominence.
@@VirideSoryuLangley I think things are changing now. The recent Suicide Squad game should let you know that. People are craving for old school heroism to come back.
@@hobbsmakescomics The problem is people do not aspire to be good. We are being told it is okay to be ourselves, and not need to improve ourselves. That is why we can’t have characters like Superman be prominent anymore. That has to change.
"..bit on odd character if you sit down and think about it." Well that's gonna be true of any superhero really even Wolverine, but Superman tends gets more undeserved flak for it. Love the approach to his build. I can like both a bigger or leaner approach to Superman but I think a gymnast type build kind of like what Garcia Lopez would give him tends to work really well in flying shots.
I find superman to be very difficult to draw, because his face has to show kindness but not look dumb or dull… he has to look serious but more like “focused” and “calm” not angry and be strong but graceful and I haven’t been able to crack the code on him yet, your superman looks incredible and I think I have never seen you drawing him before!
When it comes to learning anatomy- what were your go-to's and do you have any tips for retaining the knowledge? I feel like I have been studying and grinding this stuff for a couple decades and it never feels ingrained.
WOW. Thanks for proving that you can draw something that looks so right, then erase it and redraw it, then erase it and redraw several more times, and each time it looks better and better.
Absolutely phenomenal work Frank! Your mastery of anatomy and gesture is absolutely phenomenal and I really appreciate that you share these illustrations and the process as well as your commentary! Thank you
So Erik Hodson comes into my bar last week (not a joke) and I show him my signed and doodled EVS Batman cover. I tell him I love EVS but my favorite artist is Frank Cho, and tonight Frank Cho shows up in my YT feed. Is it the algorithm or does God love me?
Reeves was my childhood Superman also and the spinning the earth back to turn back time really made me think back then like, is that what would happen if the earth rotated the other way?...
What is off to me is that nobody draws folds on superman costume...no mater how tight it is will still form folds specialy at elbow and knees.. across abdomen too.

...Hahaha...for not being a fan of Supes, this drawing looks like a work of love! Great job, as always! 🙂
Honestly, Henry Cavill is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Superman as well !!! I agree ! He is PERFECT as Superman !!!
Great drawing Frank !!!

Maybe Superman is too colorful and positive for this generation, everything has to be dark and negative nowadays.
The paragon is the hardest archetype to get right and make compelling.

Being good in a world that wants you to be evil is immensely difficult.
Superman is if anything more needed than ever.
I’m glad you drew my favorite superhero. I enjoyed the breakdown and insights. That really helps me when drawing on my own.
Superman the Movie with Christopher Lee would have been a very different film but now I kinda want to see that.
haha

Love your style of drawing

Master Cho! You're number one in butt painting. Can you do a little tutorial and show us how you masterfully draw them?
The Best Frank !!!

Frank, can you do 1940s Captain Marvel/Shazam with the military jacket?

Thank you for masterclass!
This is Great Master !!
Amazing 🎉

Ótimo desenho

SHOW, TOP
I got a 0.5mm Pentel pencils, three of them
Looks like too much cape to me. It'd be cool to see what you end up deciding about it. Fun watch as always!
My favorite Superman is George Reeves. I'm old.
"(I don’t like him because he’s too powerful, boring and his weakness is a green rock.)"
But doesn't that apply to other kryptonians as well...?
Batman please
Excellent drawing. If superman were a real person he'd probably be quite obese because there's no equipment on earth that could build his muscles 😂
how much is the video sped up?
The whole drawing took 40 minutes. I sped up the video to 10 minutes.
For the algorithm
Flying very fast around the earth BACKWARDS reverses time... what's not believable about that???
Ah one punch man XD
Super Man was awesome before DC turned him into a bad guy.
