Love the rock lined flower beds. I especially like anything with curved , meandering borders. The two pots on the porch are stunning, with your combination of plants, textures and colors! Love the round obelisk on top. I do have two of them, and love styling them. Being here in California, my geraniums stay in the ground all year, and grow up to 7 feet high! I have to whack them back at least 3 times a year, and just break off pieces and stick them in any dirt and they propagate easily. I have never tried hostas, but yours are really inspiring me.

I can’t believe you get to leave your geraniums out year around! You’re lucky! You will be so happy you tried hostas! Thanks for watching! Deanna

I live in Illinois too. I take my seed geraniums out of the pots in the fall and get the dirt off the roots the put upside down in a paper bag and staple it shut. Then I put them in the basement for the winter. They are flowing and doing great. Love your garden.

Autumn Clematis can become a true nightmare. I’m in the Piedmont region of NC. In my yard there’s a clematis sprout probably every 12” inches in every direction you look. It’s also growing in my pasture. It was definitely beautiful when I was growing it but it’s not worth the trouble it’s causing, at least in my area.

I repurposed some thicker plastic planter pots. I cut the bottoms out of it and I put then in the ground, filled it with garden soil, compost and fertilizer seeds I than the lime light sedum in it, so it keeps it under control and it pops in my garden bed because it is elevated.

I'm in zone 6B Holland Michigan and I have that sweet autumn Clematis growing on one area of my fence and I keep pulling it. It's popped up in about six places in my garden this year. As has a wisteria that I had pulled out and dug out, and you actually have to dig to China to get it out, about 6- 7 years ago. And there it is popping up in certain places. I don't know what's going on with your phlox other than check the bottom of the stems to see if they've been nicked, or maybe there is some sort of infestation or crown rot. I've been gardening since 1985 and sometimes I have issues with phlox as well That's why I don't grow it very often. I have some now that I'm trialling so we shall see what happens... And yes that Helen von Stein Lamb's ear is incredible and I have several of those.

Clearly, so much work has gone into your garden and I love it. At 07:35, your basket plant looks like a calibrachoa or million bells. Am I correct? They like to dry out some between watering, not drought dry but enough that their roots get a break from being wet. Is that what you’re doing?
    Thanks for sharing 😊
Ps: I have not had luck with any clematis I’ve ever tried to grow so I’m actually jealous of your invasive monster 😅

But I do love the color red in my garden, looks so pretty mixed with other colors I think. Lol I have a sweet Autom clematis and love the sweet smell, and so far I haven’t had any trouble with it fingers crossed 🤞 I have probably 10 different clematis’s some even growing in pots, and have no trouble with them except one year one got clematis wilt. I cut it back down to the ground and it grew back fresh and has been fine since. Looking forward to seeing your back garden tour. I’m sure it’s as beautiful as the front it.
