    Hi Hanna, great video! Recently approved for the modification. You had a similar question, but to clarify, I am able to replace my worn out work vehicle with one of similar scope and make the payments, not buy outright? Or is this considered a capital improvement? Thanks:)

    Another issue has been for those self-employed, single-member LLC‘s, sole props, who are consultants or contractors and have minimal overhead and minimal expenses.

    • @ClaraCFO
      @ClaraCFO  3 года назад

      I agree. I would advise most sole props not to take this money unless they have eligible expenses to use it on. I just see people into bad debt positions just because the money was offered.

    Hi Clara. Thanks so much for your prompt reply that was super helpful. I have just one more question hopefully you don't mind. In the bank, I have personal account and seperate account for the EIDL funds. To pay myself with the EIDL loan, should I transfer money from the EIDL account to my personal account as my salary based on my Tax file 2021? Thanks a million in advance one more time and my appreciation for your valuable time to show me a right way to walk.

      Hello Hanna - paying yourself with EIDL is not ideal as a sole proprietor. But if you HAVE to, please document a fair wage and how you determined what you are paying yourself for the work you did in your business. I try to tell people to use EIDL for other things, but if you need to use it to pay yourself, make sure you have clear documentation on the amount you choose to pay yourself.

    Thank you Clara for providing this information. I have four questions to clarify: 1) If you are single-member LLC, How are you able to pay yourself while working to rebuild your business, with an EIDL advance? 2) If so, how do you pay yourself, and based on what schedule? 3) Does the EIDL Advance also have a Forgiveness process too? I did not quite understand from the video. 4) Are you able to use funds to make maintenance car repairs for vehicle used in business? Thanks for your work.

    Awesome information in these videos. I used the eidl funds to pay for fuel on a fleet of trucks. I now have a big surplus of capital I could really use. Can I put a shop up with the surplus? Or buy other business equipment if needed with my surplus? Also do I legally need to seperate it from my working capital account? I don't understand the concept of these (red) eidl working capital vs (green) money that is freed up. To me a dollar is green regardless as long as you have the expenses to show you paid vs the surplus you use on other purchases.

    I have never lost money in my business where I could not pay all my bills, even though it got scary at times. So, I have the EIDL loan. Since I can pay my business bills (barely at times) do I say I am using the EIDL funds (or even PPP) to pay these bills, or am I using my business income to pay these expenses? How are they going to tell. EIDL was deposited in my Business account, where all my business income goes. What do I do?

    Would it be possible for you to talk about the "personal guarantor" aspect of this loan. We were lucky to get the 1st EIDL loan in 2020. We requested an increase (when it was made available in spring 2021) and we recieved as offer to increase the amount. The offer IS over $200K. I am worried about the personal guarantor aspect of the loan. If we went under (worst case scenario hopefully) can the SBA come after me (the signer of the loan) personally? My home, car and my credit score?

However, I cannot find this written anywhere in the SBA website so I am not sure I have this correct. Is this addressed anywhere on their website? Thanks in advance.

      Hi Tina - are you payments in excess of the total interest due? Remember that interest accrued from day 1, so you need to pay off all interest due before they start going to principal - this can be a significant amount for many people.

    Hi Clara, in the case of Film production single member LLC, what can I use the EIDL loan for? Would be paying myself considered distribution as I'm a single member llc? Would be a film production contractors salary payments be considered working capital even if it's not a recurring expense? Thank you

    • @ClaraCFO
      @ClaraCFO  2 года назад

      Hi Marco - yes, your contractor payments are definitely considered working capital. I would avoid using the funds for owner distribution if possible. The SBA's guidelines with that are very vague. If you can use the funds for other things, it will be easier to prove if you are audited. The self payments are harder to document and substantiate.

    Hi Clara. Thank you for such a great video. May I ask you an important question.
    I’ve received an invitation from the SBA to apply for the Targeted and Supplemental Grants.
    In that invitation it says “Complete the monthly gross receipts for each year listed on the form. Gross receipts include all revenue in whatever form received or accrued, from whatever source.
    If there was a period with no sales, enter 0”.
    So, my question is do I need to include my Unemployment Benefits as well in the form?
    As far as I know Unemployment is a competition but not a revenue, that’s why I’m not sure.
    I just don’t want to get in trouble with the SBA later on.
    Thank you in advance.

      My understanding since last year is you cannot use it to pay yourself unless you are paying for work/hours you are actually doing. For instance if you’re spending time working with clients, building your website, Basic bookkeeping for your business. Anything you typically page yourself to do. But it’s definitely not like the PPP where we took owner compensation or compensation replacement where are you transferred the entire amount of the PPP To your personal account.

I had to defer $3500 worth of payments because I didn't have the funds to pay the bill from my Rideshare work. I'm curious if I could pay up the deferment because the economic harm was caused by the pandemic. It would be nice if I could bring my car payment back to what it was pre-pandemic status.
