Margaret, your hair looks great and your skin is glowing and your eyes are so vibrant! My husband died two months ago. It’s been rough. But!! But But . . .today I said yes to myself. I said yes to life. And oh what a beautiful day it was. I stepped through the door. I don’t know how I did it. Something just clicked. I’m alive. We are all alive! And life is beautiful. There is so much to be grateful for and so much to live for.
My way of thinking now is, "I have so much time behind me, and, so little ahead". I know that sounds terribly negative and somewhat morbid, but, it's hard. I think about twenty years ago, and, it seems it went by in a blink. Then I automatically shift to thinking I won't even be here in another twenty years. Being estranged from one of my children since Christmas of 2021 hasn't helped my emotional state. My other child is going through a lot, so I hurt for him. Although they are both adults with their own children, I can't help my feelings. Yes, I do isolate quite a bit now, as well. Struggle with my weight, yes, as you mentioned. I seem to often be unhappy with myself. We try not to waste money, but, here in the States, prices are sky-high, and, the state of the world is frightening. Sorry to be negative, Margaret... just my honest feelings. Thank you so much for sharing all this great advice; you are loved and appreciated. Stay blessed! Rosemarie 💖
It’s all true but being negative doesn’t help you or your loved ones in anyway it only drain you down. But being positive, live in the moment you will have a better attitude you will be helping yourself to a healthier you & your loved ones
Rosemarie, we have no control over how much time we have to live, but we do have control over how we spend that time. We can’t control what others are doing either, only what we’re doing. Find ways to let yourself be happy. The world is an imperfect place with lots of problems, disasters and high prices, but if we sit around thinking about how bad it is, we’re wasting our precious time. I hope you can find the goodness out there. If you can’t find pleasure with your children, get involved in something you love or something you’ve always wanted to do. There’s something out there for you. No one is guaranteed 20 years, no one is even guaranteed tomorrow. So let yourself be happy now. Much hope and love ~ Tracy
It is scary getting older and knowing realistically that our days our numbered, but I am trying to use that scare to motivate me to take better care of myself. I used to wake up every morning before work and say "F&&k, I have to get up". I still need motivation in the morning and letting my dogs out so they don't pee in the house does it for me. Find something positive to do everyday. Even if it is one thing. Wow, today I loaded the dishwasher, or I brushed my teeth two times today. I got dressed for the day. Pick your battles and as you win even the small victories they add up and help you start making the most of the time we have left.
Your advice "don't look back, you're not going there" was something good to hear. I haven't been able to let go of the feelings I had for someone when I was a teenager. Someone I think I should have pursued more and told my true feelings to. I have so much regret about my choices back then that it haunts me. I can't let him go, and what could have been. 😢
Sometimes things happen for a reason may be if you had given the true feelings the outcome may not be what you had expected so it’s better not to look back and live in the moment & move forward. If you keep living in the past you don’t have time to live the present and tomorrow you will be thinking about today where you weren’t living @ your best because you were sad about your past. In life you live the best way you can & worrying about something that’s beyond your control it’s just a waste of time adding stress to your life.
Some good points. I've decided when someone asks me an inappropriate question I'm just going to turn it back to them and ask , why would you want to know that ? It stops people being too noisy.
I have to actively tell myself to stop caring so much. By that I mean I have to leave the worrying to the generations coming up. They will be affected longer than I will, so it's up to them to pick up the reins. I can't save the world anymore, so to speak.
This is a good one. I spend a lot of time worrying about politics and getting angry at this and that. Like you said, it's time to stop caring so much and time to start depending on generations coming up to do the right things.
I ask myself if this is something I can affect and then I stop reading about it, listening to it on TV or radio. Period. I stop worrying and caring about a lot of things and my happiness has increased.
Good morning, Margaret! You are a wonderful life coach for me! There is nothing like a peo talk from you almost every morning. Thank you so much for your loving common sense guide to everyday situations!
Hi Margaret! I just saw this video and I absolutely need to STOP doing all of these 15 things! I need to find your other videos of other things to stop as well as I’m sure there will be many other things I need to stop! I am so bad about self-isolating and then getting down and depressed! Thank you for posting this! I’m going to try to put myself out there more in the future. It is so hard but I need to do it!
Thanks for this pep-talk! I needed to hear everything you said.. I am a worrier.. always have been.. even more since my Mom passed away last year.. sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop thing.. I am a retired school teacher, with too much time in my hands now.. hubby is semi-retired, works three days a week.. I really need to find something constructive to do with myself! Turned 65 in November, and life seems to just be passing me by.. I need to wake up from this rut I’m in..Love your advise always! 💖
I’m 69… in 2021… I vowed to focus on my health. I’m overall much healthier than most of my friends from where I’ve lived in the past. I love the area I live in now with like minded people that focus on staying healthy. Years ago I stopped buying “ dust” collectors. Now my friends want to know how I travel to 20 countries and counting. I’m going to Israel next year with a former pastor and his educational group. I live simple, only eat out when I have guests or with groups. I wear the clothes I have in my closet. I buy quality with mindset “ buy once”. At age 19 I was traveling in an 18 wheeler with a sleeping bunk. I quickly realized I can live in much less than I thought I could. Many items I multiuse, saving space and money. Have a great day. Love your videos and information.
Letting go, as some of these things suggest, can reduce the stress they produce, and open up a broader lens through which to enjoy life! Thank you for taking the time to do these videos!
Dear Margaret, I have been hearing so many inspiring words from you. I usually watch in the early evening, but will start viewing in the mornings so your inspirations will stay with me throughout the day.
Love your channel. Thank you for great advice! Please people, stop saying"I'll call you" and you never do. Stop playing Big me Little you...we're way past that. Be more aware of the other persons circumstances, I.e. they may not have the money to go on a fun cruise, go shopping, go out. Just don't bring it up. Stop bombarding your friends with children and grandchildren news. All these things have happened to me and at 70 I'm really tired of it. I wish people would grow up.......
Amazing video! I just found you yesterday thru another youtuber. I'm so very glad I did because I needed this video desperately! Thank you so much for your wisdom!! 🥰🥰🥰💜
I am "old school" and proud of it. I am not embracing change. The changes occurring today are not positive in any way. This is not my world any more and I don't like it, therefore, I live my life on my terms. Change is creating a world where people will not have a purpose or reason to do anything. And we all know what "time on one's hands" creates.
I really enjoyed this video. I needed to hear a couple of these things right this very minute. By the way, you look beautiful, and it's a great color on you, perfect makeup. The neckline on the top is so flattering. The blush you have on is definitely your color.
I used to be a terrible worrier. I will be 60 (!) in a month and now I realize that worrying is a waste of time. What will be, will be. I will deal with it. Ah, age does bring wisdom.
The very best thing I heard was that ‘no’ is a complete sentence and no need to explain. My husband gave me a book once called “How to Say No and Really Mean It” or something like that but I didn’t have time to read it! I want to serve and be helpful but also have time for self!
Boy, this is a great video. Stop believing in outdated topics old wives tales comes to mind . When I reached my 50s I completely changed ,because I had health issues. I stop doing a lot of things ,living in the past being ,negative dwelling on things. You think your life isn’t so great and then you run into someone else your age and listen to what they have going on in their life ,suddenly your life is pretty great. Thank you for this video. I hope it helps people.
These are good pieces of advice for anyone of any age. Some of them are a tad contradictory (going after dreams vs not having unrealistic goals). Fwiw, I know quite a few millionaires, and the "old money" ones and the ones who got the money while doing what they loved (rather than trying to get rich or going for "status") are more likely to shop at Walmart than Neiman-Marcus.
Thank you Margaret! You are an uplifting, inspiration to us. Your advice is so important. A friend of mine who is 68 (8 years younger than me) recently said " I refuse to let my age define me." I decided to repeat that often as my mantra. One of my favorite resources is Dr Christiane Northrup who is an OBGYN, but most importantly, an advocate for women's health and well-being. She focuses on "everthing that can go right with our health" and promotes ways to stay healthy and happy using our body's natural abilities. One of her books is titled "Goddesses Never Age." Check it out.💕
Stop saying I dont call you because I know you're busy at work. I hear this a lot from those retired over 70 who sit at home alone wishing I would call again. So Dreary!
Jesus said "Iam the way,and the truth, and the life"no one comes to the father but by me,seek Jesus for wisdom and Guinness he loves us so much, forgive yourself and others.
These videos are kinda funny to me. Is there anything more that we should stop doing ? Another 15 , then another then another…… just stop thinking about your self all the time and focus on what comes after this life.

Some good points. I've decided when someone asks me an inappropriate question I'm just going to turn it back to them and ask , why would you want to know that ? It stops people being too noisy.
I think it’s SO important to not be a victim, and also to let go of the past. Thank you for including these two important points, Margaret! 😊

Disappointment in myself. My past relationships that have always failed.
