How would the professor manage the resources in the case of an inner Syrian federation or confederation?
The Syrian opposition, led by Kamal Allabwani, is totally against that idea.
They are even threatening armed resistance.
A federation should be built to integrate a neighboring state, i.e., to extend one's own territory.
In that case, one's own GDP would double, the resources would double, and the manpower would double.
Transforming Syria from a central state to a federal state would weaken the state completely.
The political decision-making process would definitely not be simplified by that.
Isn’t it kind of an extension of the Sykes-Picot agreement?
Wouldn’t it weaken the power of the new Syrian state?
Syria should rather integrate Jordan and Lebanon, for example, into a federation.
In this case, Syria would become a heavyweight in the region.
