    I’ve hiked in Estes Park in this same area and became disoriented, the terrain was almost unpassable! Beautiful country but was the closest I’ve come to getting lost, and depleted before making it out. I thank God I made it, one of the scariest time of my life! So I pray for the families left to wonder and grieve. RIP to all those who’ve lost their lives from being lost. 🙏❤️ thanks Bryan for all you continue to do.

    Large groups have a problem keeping track of people. There was a kid at Show Low Lake in AZ last summer who was at a camp for football. After a practice all the boys went down to Show Low Lake to swim. All got out a little while later except one. No one notice him being missing until many hours later. He had drowned. They found his body the next day with divers in the lake. Very sad. He was only 15 years old. Some one in large groups needs to be responsible for counting hears!

      That’s like that couple on the I Shouldn’t Be Alive who didn’t make it back to the headcount and their tour guide just assumed they left on their own rather than got lost. They ended up getting trapped in a gorge and finding the tent and remains of another missing hiker. Finally they managed to get noticed by starting a huge forest fire.

      @@Eidolon1andOnlyI don’t think college aged kids really pay attention to head counts. They likely weren’t even thinking that way. It’s also likely that the groups get split up into little pairs and trios. And you don’t really notice when you’re splitting up like that.

    • @Eidolon1andOnly
      @Eidolon1andOnly 9 месяцев назад +6

      @@The_ZeroLine But that doesn't explain how no one noticed once it was time to leave the park. More than likely the group carpooled. How did no one notice that a driver and/or passengers were missing?
      This also took place in 1949, when people weren't distracted by cell phones, texts, or social media, and higher education campuses were still focussed on teaching marketable skills, including high level mathematics at a time before even the most basic pocket calculator was invented. A time fresh after the second world war where people were supremely aware of family and friends who were lost during that conflict, and having to face that loss every day, persistant awareness of who and what were missing since the US entered the war. These college kids would be far more in tune to their surroundings and little details than a group of the same age of college students of today.

      I run a walking group and often there are only 8 or 9 of us. Many times the group have headed off along the path without realising one or two have gone off to the toilet. I have to shout to get them to stop and wait. It is amazingly easily done as people get into conversation with one other person and become engrossed in that chat. They must think everyone else is doing the same. Thankfully our walks are short and safe on the ground level in the UK.

    I agree: all three men died, either by accident (falling or injuring themselves in some way that kept them from being able to get to safety) or by getting lost and dying of exposure. As we have learned from your videos, it is all too easy to become disoriented in wilderness areas. The terrible weather that came in also may have sealed their fates. Sad stories, all.

    Ok Bryan I have a theory about the missing 411. I tried reaching out to a couple of others but I just get laughs and eye roll comments. I know people hear methane and think about climate change but my theory is Methane gas pockets. Methane escapes from caves and the most disapeances happen near underground cave systems. If someone is near an escape opening they would be over come quickly with Methane poisoning which causes disorientation, hallucinations, confusion. And people that are found in the missing 411 cases are often found in this condition. It's worth looking into maybe you should keep a Methane detector on you when you go hiking you might prove my theory. Also methane can smell like sulfur which is what a lot of people say they smell when they see bigfoot or dogman. It could be methane causing the hallucinations.

    Disappearance without a trace on the eve of major storm suggests bears, as a bear's sensitive ears can detect changes in barometric pressure, signalling an opportunity for the bear to differ from the normative rules of engagement and attack people. An operational assumption would be the bear used the gap at Flat Top to travel to or from the lake. Ursular astigmatism causes the bear to track in a straight line in unbroken terrain, and, to the left in broken terrain when not pursued, to the right when pursued through broken terrain.

      i wondered the samr thing, i actuallu wrote a comment then eleted it. yes, i think there for sure were Grizzliy bears in the park they didn’t know it was a nat park. And they don’t see too well at a distance but can smell anything ediible.. tourists and hilers bring food. And if a storm was approaching , yeah, a bear fattening up for winter, would grab a meal if one came along. There has always been grizzly bears in the Rockies and on the Plains. but no effects of the hilers were ever found, nless a grizzly or mountain lion dragged their prey, gear and all into a cave, and wiinter set in. And maybe sometimes if you eliminate every thing possible then what you have left is the impossible. like a 411 case before Pauldes?

      Yes there were.. they thrived until the 1940s but in the mid to late 50s they really went down in population and Basically they went extinct in Colorado by the end of the 1960s. Although there was one sighting in 1979. Thank you for watching and your feedback🙏

    Are there any mines or know mineral deposits in that area? Some can reak havok on a compass and throw a person completely off course, especially back then. If the magnetic north is off by several degrees and a person is not aware of it, maybe that could offer an entirely new search area. Magnetictic discrepencies are available online thru government agencies. I'm just not sure how far back records go for that area...if there are any. Positive thoughts from me! They deserve to be home.

      Very good point! Yes there are various old mines in and around that area.. none are still in use and from what I could find they were mostly abandoned by the 1930s but that doesn't mean there still aren't lots of minerals etc like you mentioned. Especially in the mountains. Thank you for watching and your feedback! Appreciate the theory and kind thoughts🙏

    Almost 100% of the rescue searches involve the weather turning bad! 🤔🤔🤔

    • @bawattsyl
      @bawattsyl  9 месяцев назад +1

      Sadly that does happen. Weather comes up fast and unexpected in the mountains. But carrying a sat com device these days can be very helpful. Thank you for watching and your feedback🙏

    Strange how they can't find them even when the weather breaks. Parts of their clothes like the soles of shoes will never fall apart. And the two that were separated from group... makes no sense when the group was nine people . Smells fishy to me

      I agree.. over this amount of time, especially because I know Joseph was wearing heavy duty leather boots with other leather gear and belt with buckle etc. It's very odd that nothing has ever been found although there always the case some things were found and the people didn't know about these cases and just tossed them or whatever. Who knows. Thank you for watching and your feedback!

      Let's go on about nothing to do with... Anything . Is it my turn, my dad would put air horns in his vans or pickups. He always liked the charge them. So did people at the football games when we won.
      But yeah, something strange is going on

      @bawattsyl  9 месяцев назад

      Sadly yes most likely. But it is strange that in so much time nothing has been found. Did you see my case on the Man who had been missing in Rocky Mountain National Park for over 30 years and hikers found his shoes in some melting snow and eventually him. Who knows, maybe people have found certain items of the years like clothing or possibly leather boots and didn't think anything of it because they weren't aware of these cases. 🤷‍♂️ thank you for watching and your feedback🙏

    Most disappearances happen around cave systems?
    Where did you come up with that one? Are you sure gases come from mines,not just every cave. Most if not all the missing I've ever heard about never had any thing to do with caves. Doesn't explain where are the body's?

    • @bawattsyl
      @bawattsyl  9 месяцев назад +2

      What are you talking about? I didn't mention caves at all or that most disappearances happen around cave systems.. or were you responding to another commener? I've never said that most disappearances happen around cave systems. So I'm a little confused at your comment🤷‍♂️
