I started watching pro rocket league in RLCSX. The team were finding their feet in the online era, and I had no concept of who any of the pros were. There were no web cams at the start, just disembodied cars. This is all to say: It was the casters that carried the personality and charisma of the sport. It wasn't long before I loved watching games casted by Shogun and Johnnyboi, and quickly grew to love Wavepunk and Achieves. They have so much talent on that casting team. Hope CJCJ gets to join them permanently one day, when he's ready. He seemed really natural at it on Championship Sunday.
It’s so unbelievable how rlcs has evolved. Practically every other goal scored is a freestyle. So many banger clips were scored this rlcs. I also think the crowd back makes it more hype which leads to more clips.
Remember when people didn't think that double touches were a viable mechanic for the pros? Or flip resets? I think every one of these clips contains at least one of those.
@@mrjimi1 to be fair that was a long time ago. I think the first flip reset goal at an RLCS lan was in S6 C9 vs WDG (not counting Deevo’s bc he didn’t actually score the goal). That was about 3.5 years ago and that’s a long time for a game to evolve especially when quarantine gave the pros really nothing else to do but game
@@tria1583 Yeah, honestly I was thinking that maybe quarantine and peiople being at home able to play more often spurred some of the insane technical evolution from the top players. Comparing this to a few yrs ago its a whole different ball game.
Dude... This was an amazing compilation of some of the best plays, as there were so many great plays this Championship Series. Almost all teams were at peaking level. One, if not the best series of RLCS by far. Great job!!

That G2 passing play at 7:21 to me is the most impressive piece of rocket league I have ever seen. All the crazy flip reset goals etc, are crazy mechanically, but you watch holding your breath because you expect nothing less than fantastic. Where as G2 goal just starts off like any normal rocket league match, with the ball being contested. then a back pass coming out, and then the passing just doesn't end until like 6 passes later with a goal, and you realize you just witnessed divinity, but didn't realize it until it was gone.
That passing play from G2 was easily the best passing play EVER in RLCS. perfectly executed passes into a dunk and it's in grand finals. What more could you ask for tbh
Some slow uncontested passes on their own half followed by a misplay of the defender leading to an open goal isn't that great. Ultimately the goal was just a random boomer to the backboard followed by a dunk because the defender didn't properly clear the ball to the side.
@@orbital1337 their passing play got the entire queso defense out of position wdym? they set up a backboard shot and their defender was there and he got dunked on perfectly. was definitely an amazing goal
@@Patukah1879 Uhm, no. They got *one* player to commit twice, once on the initial pass and then once again on the final boomer to the backboard. And it's very standard 3s play to have someone commit to basically everything so you don't give the opponents too much space. Queso had one defender on the backboard and one getting boost while rotating in backpost. The guy on the backboard just fucked up and got dunked. You can literally see all three queso players getting boost during this "amazing" pass play... If my opponents were playing volleyball in their half I'd be getting boost too. And don't get me wrong, I like G2's playstyle. I like well-executed passing plays. But the number of touches does not make a passing play impressive if its on your own half, slow, not very clean and doesn't outplay anyone.
So many clips this major, everyone popped off, and this montage just shows that off brilliantly. It's montages like this, best players in the world clipping on each other and the crowd going mental, that keep us motivated to keep playing the game, and that's an experience you simply cannot put a price on. Good stuff lads, you did another fantastic job with this one, looking forward to LANdon 2.0 :]
I love your content. You do an amazing job with these, especially for the majors. You get goals, saves, passing plays, and bumps. You don’t do just goals. Also I love the background music for this and the fall major. You don’t miss insane plays, you do the A AND B stream highlights. These are always entertaining and fun to watch and I love that the crowd reactions and the winner ceremony is in it. My one complaint for this is that you forgot Rise’s save against SSG in game 7.

As a GC for the last 3 years, it blows me away how incredible the pro scene has evolved during that same time. The mechanical ability of every player is just through the roof.
great vid, but that beastmode pass at 5:53 is easily one of the best goals of the tournament and u didn't even give it a second replay. i noticed the same with some other banger goals, while some other ones that weren't as crazy got shown again from a second angle. all personal preference i guess

Is there a special way to up air roll rotation speed? I'm a high champion player and I'm looking at these clips wondering how they're rotating in the air so fast. Is it maybe camera angle? I use close to default, just a slightly higher distance and max fov

not much else people can do on defense besides recover faster and time positions well. Offense is just fucking amazing from top players.
