you did a fabulous job on this mk3!! wasn't sure about the rim's, but took a good look at them, and yes.... just miss continental on the trunk . I restored a 71,back in 92, named her Carlotta, she was alota car!! beautiful job.. cheers 🍾🍾🍾🏳️🌈
Had a beautiful 71 black/black with 69 hubcaps then replaced with Truspoke real wire wheels. Bought it in 73 had it stolen twice, 2nd time they totaled it. Had it 5 years. Loved the car, everything about it.
In 1980 I bought a 1971 Lincoln Mark lll off of a Lincoln dealer's used car lot. The car was in excellent condition. I started reading up on the 460 engine to see if I could tweak it a little for more performance. I read where the factory intake manifold ports were too big for good low-end performance, so I removed the stock cast iron intake manifold and replaced it with an Edelbrock aluminum performance manifold with smaller intake ports to increase intake airflow at lower RPM, as recommended in the magazine article. The intake manifold change made a noticeable effect on increased low-end torque. I used to like to get the car up to about 25 MPH (in a higher gear) and then stomp on the gas to where the trans would drop back into low, chirping the tires at the 1-2 shift. I always kept the spark advance up many degrees from the factory specs, but had to use 104 octane booster with high test gasoline to keep the engine from pinging and knocking. Circumstances caused me to sell the Mark in late 1984, but had I kept it I was planning on trying to get a set of headers for it and custom exhaust, doing away with the two stock factory mufflers and two resonators. The Mark lll was a great personalized luxury car with decent performance considering it's weight.
No bigger Mk III fan than me ( owned 9 Marks including 3 3s) Sharp car kept it orig. with some tweaks, love the power open/no handles. But gotta leave the continental on the deck lid. Bravo job though!!
How did you do keyless entry for an old car like that? Not a fan of those rims and I would have stripped off the vinyl roof and gone all metal. It really would bring out the lines of the car.
everyting is beautiful except for the rims, keep em stock, keep em classic, keep em classy

The 71 Mercury Marquis was just as bad ass in black.
Should have left the door handles and emblems on it. Other than that and the rims: It’s a beautiful car.

The call him SIR!
Love the car but the wheels?...I can’t. I would need the original cone shaped Lincoln hubcaps and white wall tires.
Are there many of this car left?
What exhaust are you running? I'm usually not a fan of louder exhaust on Lincolns but this sounds sweet!!!!
Very nice . fix the clock . mine cost $250
Such an intimidating car even more so if you have seen the movie
