Honestly, I don't think the simplicity or complexity of a song is what makes it good or "awesome" or otherwise. I think what makes it "awesome" is the message and the way that the music flows, not any display of particular talent, just the way that the music is able to touch the artist and secondly his/her audience

I like how usually artists come with the most appealing version of the song. Or just the song. But Jon comes in and does his own stuff. People can say what they want about the odd movements and the odd musical structure he chooses but it is his style. Balls out for going through with it
Funny, because I was gonna say how the blend of different movements seemed awesome to me. Some I knew were from conducting, while others seemed to be smaller grooving-type movements to feel the music and keep tempo.

Funny story:
I went to a twentyonepilots concert in Bozeman, MT. I remember I couldn't quite see who opening for them. After the performance, I thought to myself, "Hey, I really enjoyed that dude in the white shirt that opened for them. He made great music to get us into the mood!" but then forgot about it.
Fast forward to April, I watch a RUclips video of the game _Rust_ and I hear this beautiful song in the background. I search far and wide for it, wondering who made it. I then come across a this Tonight Show video. I think to myself "Damn! He seems so... Familiar. Where have I heard him before?" and then I see the note on his sampler, "KEEP FIGHTING, DREW" and then I had a flashback to the TOP concert -- He said Keep Fighting Drew there.
I saw Jon Bellion live in concert and I didn't even know who he was. I wish I could just warp back in time so that I can enjoy the concert even better now I know who Jon is!

The thing is I actually like that lyric as weird as that sounds because it comes from a place of candor from Jon. It's not trying to be juvenile, just honesty about being lonely in the song. It's not a curse word but I guess some people, especially in a more commercial audience, might see it as something to ridicule rather than something coming from a place of honesty. So I can see why it gets dropped in certain performances.
