I think Rhapsody in Blue is one of the greatest pieces of 20th century music, and you played it fantastically! Indiana is going to be in for a real treat! Great job, Tony!
It's a nice musical surprise. Excellent musical performance. It is one of my favorites. And I tell you again Tony DeSare that God save your feeling and your great energy you transmit from within...!!! Bravo...!!!😀🎹🎼🎵🎹🎶😉
We had this on a piano roll ( piano player) I pumped it over and over again .As a small child it shook me to my core . Your brilliant at playing this ..bravo
You have some very special gift to not only play that difficult piece, but also to play it with such force and tenderness. You brought tears and laughter to me. Your gift is phonemically and I thank you so very much for sharing it with all of us, your followers! Next Sunday is Concert Sunday! Whoohoo!
Tony: I am at a loss for words to describe my experience as I listened, and more importantly, for me to watch your arms, hands, and fingers “dance” and gyrate upon the keyboard. And that glance once or twice as you looked at us. LOL. I watched it two or three times on Sunday and got up early this morning and put on headphones to listen and watch it at least four times on Monday. I am not a musician so I can not fully appreciate the piece, but I am moved hearing the scope of the piece. It sure changes during the entire piece. I also returned to view and listen to your 2017 video version. Today’s version has more feeling and dynamics to it. Like most of the previous posts, the word WOW is an understatement but sums it up pretty accurately. Is fun to see someone in worn blue jeans and a plain black T-shirt blow most out of the water! Thanks so much for sharing your “practice” session with all of us. And good health and cheer to your wife and child.
Tony that was a very grand performance 🙌. Ol Gershwin would be proud of you I know I am... I first heard that song on the Lawrence welk show one of my favorite shows...god bless you Tony and everyone in your family..
I loved it. Rhapsody in Blue is one of my favorite pieces and you made it come alive as we watched you play it in addition to hearing it. Thank you for Piano Sunday.
The first time I heard "Rhapsody in Blue" was as in the 1970's, child, on a black and white TV, playing a black and white move (1945 version), on a farm, in the middle of freakin' nowhere (Saskatchewan)... and thinking... THAT was an amazing opening. I think the degree to which you are affected by music is hard-wired at birth and can't be changed much. For some music is just a pleasant background to life. For others, it affects your attention, your thinking, and your passion for learning (music at least, many times other topics). It took my years to find a home in music for me, but once I did I've been able to be a part of one scene or another, jammin' to the level I am able, in Calgary, Toronto, Manhattan, now Austin. Enjoyed your session... play on! This is the version I originally heard in my nowhere land... ruclips.net/video/VAuTouBhN5k/видео.html
Wow! Brilliant, Tony! Such fantastic piece!!! One of my favorites pieces, discovered at very young age thanks to a movie. My dad used to show me all about Hollywood movies and I think that’s where my love for American songbook starts. Thank you for this wonderful piano Sunday!
Love this Gershwin song so much! I could listen to this all day. It is absolutely breathtaking. Tony, your playing is heavenly❣️🎶🎹
