normally what i do is create performance tracks where i keep the adlibs and dubs but mute the main vocals... has always worked for me especially since i dont have a hype man to fill in those gaps of when im yelling and lose breath or want to make a gesture to the crowd...
That's sounds like a good performance tactic
Can you believe there are still fans that think that playback in any measure us whack?
I rap way too fast to hit every word dudes crazy lmao@Soldier_Sean
just had my first ever performance yesterday. while it definitely was an experience and i had fun, there are definitely some things i gotta work on such as my projection😅. i wasn’t aware of how quiet i was to the point where you couldn’t really hear me on the stage cause it was hard to tell what my volume was with the music blasting right behind me. but hey it’s a work-in-progress, just like everything else, so i know what to do for the next show
I have my first live perfomance today needed that!🔥Thank you for the Tips
how did it go?? did you feel free on stage? 🎶🎶
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
I have tomorrow
I've got my first live performance coming up in Orlando Florida and I am nervous afffff. I'm training my voice, watching videos studying, and doing mock performances in my studio to prepare myself 😂
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Kill it on your show! Rehearse 3 times a day with at least 3 performance runs per rehearsal. Good luck 🙌🙏
Bro this vids are so helpful! This deserves more views! Imma share it rn. Also, I think you should apply for production and managerial positions for artists. You're gonna be great for the job.
I greatly appreciate that. Thank you so much for the good vibes, the reshare, and the support. Much love 🙏🙏
Luv it great help thx man , fire song at the end got me bumpin 😂
I definitely agree with you on the taking the vocals out and just keeping stuff like ad, libs and whatnot, I do a lot of dubs in my tracks though so I tend to leave the backing dub tracks in but I lower the volume on them just so I can get that layering that I wouldn't normally be able to get in a live setting.
Thank you brother i appreciate you
Keep the great efforts mate 💯🏆
And wow very healthy rap , boss man
I greatly appreciate that. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
I got invited back to perform and I’m so excited and I want to make this epic so thank you for these tips. I will add that you want to mainly face forward.. have your friends more centered so you feel comfortable projecting mostly forward. Of course pan left and right to appease the whole audience and also give eye contact! Get the crowd involved. Don’t talk to much. Don’t leave too many gaps of silence. And be you. Believe in yourself. You’re amazing!
Thank you very much, ive got my first performance in a week, this helps a lot !
Happy to help. Good luck on your show! Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Thank you sir 😊 for this video Underground artists really helps this to improve our skillsets
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Just did a show took the advice and did good thankyou
So hyped to hear that. Good stuff! 🙌
Loved that perfomance 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That truly means a lot. Thank you so much for the support 🙏🙏
Everytime i go to concerts of industry artists. They always rap over the regular song. Not just the instrumental. So if they fuck up we can still hear the lyrics.
Yeah that's pretty lame. 😂
Artists need to take their craft more seriously. What's the point if they are just playing songs? lol
Thank you brother ! ❤
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
What if your main vocals have overlapping bars?
I get this because I have songs like this.... Focus on the best lines or if u want to take the whole thing without messing up then don't complete the full sentence for those bars
Record to the overlapping part. Then cut whichever take one you need to where it sounds smooth
This really incredible, you deserve 1 million views everyday cox ur teachings are really helpful
That truly means a lot. Thank you so much. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Ins and outs are good to with performing.
yo, great video, straight to the point. So if I want to perform one of my recorded songs, I should use the instrumental of that track and rap over that?
Yes definitely. Great artists don't rap over their recorded vocals. You got this! 🙌
@@DoubtMeTech appreciate you 👍
You said it all bro!!! Your sound's so good. Thanks a lot for the tips.
i’m rapper from belfast N/ireland 🇬🇧 ☘️ depending who u ask i have stuff released but this the year im taking this serious fr gir my first preformance tommorow the worst thing is it’s a 15 mins set off all my new 💩 this video helped me a lot and this gonna be a dope learning experience appreciate this 👊🏻🔥💚
got my first *^ 😂
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏 Good luck! You got this!
I got my first performance coming up this weekend, im kinda nervous but very excited, i never thought of the vocals on the track thing, the songs i plan on performing are kinda fast with not alot of space in between bars n my breathing aint to the point i can go the entire verse in one go. Will this be a problem? Is it okay for me to have vocals on the track in circumstances like this?
lol i’m about to perform in like 2 hours
Hope it went well 🙌🙏
How did it go?
After 17 years of making music everything I make is different. It's hard to find inspiration how to put them together as a full set. Have you made any content about transitioning between songs.
That's a great idea for a video. I'll work on that real soon!
@@DoubtMeTech CANT WAIT 👊🏽💥
Thank you for this I’m a new artist this helped a lot
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
I like the performance you did bro

Dope vid bro 🔥
I greatly appreciate that. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Great tips I didn’t think of the one where you said use the instrumental w/ adlibs. It does sound very clean. My only thing is what if it’s like you gotta take a 2-3 sec breather then it’s like you’ll miss the lyric?
Learn where you can take breaths between bars so you don't lose breath. It takes practice 🙏
Bro this aint the 90s no more. Who cares if you rap over vocals. It's about putting on a SHOW. I would much rather here you rap on your tracks than hear your voice without the auto tune.. hear you out of breath... see you struggle because you forgot your lyrics.
I promise you it's not that big of a deal. If you ever been to rolling loud lollapalooza governors ball etc. I PROMISE YOU most ppl don't care 💯
I guess if you're a purist you would care, but please understand that's ego not reality. And most artists today rap over their vocals. Do not be fooled.
Thanks for this comment because all I been seeing is people talk bad about performing over vocal.
thanks dear for the video.
very helpful
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Amazing video. Thank you fam

Preforming in chicago
Awesome! Kill it! 🙌
@@DoubtMeTech dude there was a cash prize and I freaking won, no glaze your video lowkey helped a lil I made hella eye contact with EVERYONE
Thanks for this. If you could guide me on how to set up live performances in studio that would be great 👍🏾. Your quality sounds crispy!
Thank you for all this info
Happy to help. Thanks for watching. 🙏🙏
What hand do you suggest you hold the mic in? I’m right handed but it feels more comfortable in my left
Personally I like to switch back and forth between hands throughout my performance. I dont like feeling like a stiff robot so I switch it up between verses or songs.
@@DoubtMeTech thank you for the information/response definitely got a new subscriber just for responding 💯
Good Info.. Good Music 🎶 #salute
I greatly appreciate that. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
It awesome always bro
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
lol i’m about to perform in like 2 hours
Good luck! 🙌
He says don't rap over your vocals but everyone in the industry is almost doing that.
Yeah and it's wack 😂😂
@DoubtMeTech you must be from the era of true hiphop like myself lol. I'm getting ready for my first show on June 22nd and I can't decide how to do my showtrack. One piece of advice I was given was as a new artist it's better to perform over your full track because people hear what it really sounds like since they don't know your music as a new artist
From that standpoint I can see how it's justified but it does seem lazy
@@IAMYUNGGAFdude i was thinking the same! i might have fucked up cause the setlist isnt due for another week yet i already sent it as just instrumentals. i want to do a true performance but also i dont want it to be shit.
While ur right and I feel like him saying that is his personal opinion, I gotta say I think thats just a thing with older hip hop head I just watch Kendrick preform at his K and friends show and he did all his tracks live but every other artist had a back track so at the end of the day is a personal choice I feel like 💯
lol i’m about to perform in like 2 hours
Kill it! 🙌
Any upcoming artist up for an international collaboration
Very helpful thx!

I'm a solo artist and all my music is international so i can't have all artists with me when I perform.
Do you have any advice regarding playing your songs to the audience. Transitions etc when alone on stage
Keep the catchy parts but shorten it and hype the verse’s adlibs n last part
That song performance was ASS now idk if I should take these tips
I've performed around the country, sold a bunch of merch, taken a bunch of pics with fans, and have had ppl around the country tag me in their posts about how much they enjoyed the shows and watching me perform.
Like my music or not, the tips work
@@DoubtMeTech nah lemme do my research then you prolly valid , I just ain’t like the song . Tips sounded valid af tho
