Biggest reason why zebras didn't get domesticated as one they're very aggressive compared to normal horses and two because they're not as social you might see them in big old herds but unlike horses where they're actually part of a single heard following a lead female zebras live in small family groups of like one stallion and 5/6 mares that don't really mingle they kind of like will all walk in the same direction but they don't really mingle into a single heard so it's really hard to manage them compared to a herd of horses where you just have to train the lead horse and everybody else follows Elephants are also similar they live in larger herds led by a matriarch and they're so big and strong they're not as of afraid of things and because of it to have a much more calm temper than zebras that will jump at the drop of a hat or get mean all of a sudden. Elephants also they spend so much time in their herds and with their mothers years and years even decades even the males will spend $18.20 years with the heard before they get kicked out that they form very very strong social bonds with their trainers that you can really get them to do things, but at the same time elephants aren't really domesticated pretty much every tamed elephant even nowadays are mostly wild-caught elephants that were caught as babies and then trained. Elephants have never really been domesticated because they mature so slowly and live so long they live as long
