  • September is a crucial time period to prepare hives for Winter. I talk about what I will be doing throughout this month, including checking for queens in our last Fall splits of the year, condensing hives, checking existing hives for queenright and feeding for Winter stores.

    are the yellow things on top of each migratory cover plugs? or plastic bottle caps??? Where do you get them?

      They are hole plugs. I got them from Mann Lake I believe. They only last one season, if that. Not worth buying

    Do you take most all honey and feed all winter?

      I take all honey and will feed as needed by late October
