My translation, hope it’s better than google translate:
0:55 Q: The other day.. Over here… The other day you mentioned the playoffs are fun. For example, there is a saying it is fun because of all the hard work you put into it. What is making [the postseason] so fun?
1:11 A: um, well simply to be able to play until now, play October baseball. It only happens to a handful of teams. From that perspective, I am very fortunate to be still able to play. Very grateful and hopefully able to leave results, regardless of having good or bad results, but able to be part of it is great.
1:38 Q: so there is no feeling of being scared [of the moment]?
1:42 A: If I am able to accept the [bad] results that is ok. Also, would be able to use that as motivation in the future. Of course I want to have good results, and do everything to get those results. But I believe being able to play is the most important thing.
3:13 Q: Congratulation. I believe getting to the World Series has been your dream, anyone wants to get there, any player has a dream to get there. For you personally, do you have a reason why you to get to the World Series?
3:32 A: There isn’t a reason not to aim for it. Everyone in this league is trying to get there. I personally is doing everything I can to reach that goal. I believe everyone in the league feels the same way I do.
3:52 Q: Mr. Ohtani, I assume the taste of today’s champagne was great, how would you describe your third champagne celebration? And also have you tried smoking a cigar?
4:02 A: I didn’t try a cigar. I am happy that we were able to have a champagne celebration with everyone. As I said before, we are at the final stage. I am having the realization that.
4:17 Q: One last thing. I saw you earlier holding the [NL Pennant] trophy. Can you talk about how you felt holding it?
4:25 A: Well it was my first [pennant] trophy, so I wanted to hold it. It made a good memory and it will be the best if I am able to hold the World Series trophy.
6:59 Q: The Padres has Darvish and Matsui, and the Mets has Senga. I believe the ability to have Japanese matchups on the highest of stage, displays the high level of Japanese players. What are your thoughts about it?
7:15 A: It isn’t all about Japanese players but also a lot of Latin players have made contributions. Having a lot of people represent different countries and their play style , for me personally has been a great learning experience. I think for me, everyday has been a great place to learned from the best.
7:39 Q: Excuse me. In the first inning, they were able to score and create some headwinds. Then you were able to get on base which helped getting the lead. Can you tell us your approach as you stepped into the batter box and also how were you successful against Manaea, who previously was able to shut you down?
7:53 A: Well they had the momentum, and last time he is a great pitcher who was able to get to me. I thought it would be hard to get chances to be successful. As the lead off hitter, I wanted to help change the momentum and the ball was able to find a hole and have a successful at bat.
8:19 Q: In this important game, you changed your walk-up song. Was it to change your mood or can you explain the reason for the change?
8:26 A: No real reason. It gave good vibes, so I changed it.
8:36 Q: Congratulations. For the Japanese people, Hideki Matsui’s performance in the World Series was very memorable. I believe you were in middle school, a middle schooler, do you have any memories about it?
8:50 A: I didn’t want the games live. Of course I am familiar with him winning the World Series MVP. I watched a lot of highlights but not live.
9:04 Q: You are now going against those Yankees, does that change anything for you?
9:08 A: Well they are a great team. A tough opponent. Hope we are able to play our brand of baseball. For today, I think it’s good we celebrate. Then change gears and away will be away, would be a tough environment so looking forward to it.

I was so damn embarrassed, as a Japanese, to hear some ridiculous questions from some media reporters.
If Will Ireton had translated what they were asking Shohei in Japanese into English,
the other American reporters would’ve thought the Japanese reporters should have known better, studied more and been well prepared.
I know Shohei is such a nice dude and showed a sort of poker face to those stupid questions but in the bottom of his heart, he wanted to say, “get the Fxxk out of here!!, period.

American interviewers also asked Ohtani how many kilograms he could squat right after he won the WBC, and challenged him to a game of rock-paper-scissors. There are such interviewers in every country, and there is no need for other Japanese people to feel embarrassed by the actions of one interviewer.
