Thanks, Rick! Excellent instruction! The link above for the Quick Selection Tool goes to How to Put a Person into a New Photo.

Rick, I am new to Photoshop Element 2018 , and have been trying to learn how to use it by watching tutorials of older versions of PS. It has been somewhat helpful but for obvious reasons, more times than not, it just adds to my confusion. I just finished watching your tutorial on the PS 2018 auto selection, and found it very helpful. It was detailed, but more importantly you explained very clearly how to do it. Thank you

Great tutorial. I watch a lot of online courses and RUclips tutorials. You made it super easy to follow along. Zooming in and highlighting with red boxes made is so easy to see where the tools are located. This may be the best presentation I have ever seen. Thank you.

Hey, I'm an artist new to Essentials. I've been watching many tutorials and I like your approach so I subscribed. First time to do that too. I look forward to learning more. Thanks, Rick.

Thank you for taking the time to explain the purpose of the Constrain Selection option. As always your teaching techniques make it so easy to understand.

Very good Rick, I haven't used the "Auto Selection Tool" because I wasn't sure if it was a good tool to use but you gave a very interesting use for this tool. You also gave alternatives to this which is very good. Can't wait for the next tutorial. Thanks

Great tutorial Rick. Do you have a course? Where can I get other tutorials you do.

Very nice new tool that limits the area where selection algorithms have to be applied. Yet, however good and sophisticated the selection tools and algorithms are, only the eye can tell if it is acceptable. It's all about perception, the "eye of the beholder". Hence fine tuning can seldom be avoided . The tools can speed up selection, but sometimes fine tuning their selection ends up taking as much time as doing the selection manually.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Yves. I totally agree with you, fine tuning is seldom avoidable.

This was a good overview, but it did not tell me how I can save what I selected to use to make a greeting card. Where do I find that?

Rick, would there be an improvement in the selection by starting with one of the other selection tools? It appears you have four choices of tools, the other tools would allow you to make a closer selection, even if you were in a hurry.
Food for thought, appreciate all you do!
    Rich

Hey Rich - Yes, I think using the Quick Selection tool in most cases would be a better Selection tool. I was trying to demonstrate how to use this new tool without getting too opinionated on its usefulness. ;-)

I wonder if you can answer my query. Is it possible to scan directly into Photoshop Elements using Twain drivers? The new versions of Photoshop do not work with Twain drivers.

You did not show how to complete anything just, jumped from one image to another because it was too hard to complete on the original very poor tutorial
