To measure the cord for macramé braids, you generally need to cut the cords about 4-6 times the desired finished length, depending on the type of knots you're using. If you're braiding a section to fit a basket, it's a good idea to make a small test braid first to check how much the length shrinks after knotting. Let me know if you need more details!
