Janey, I can't thank you enough for creating this series of tours and for including my garden in it - what an honor! Pixie thanks you too and says yes, she is the true star of the garden 🥰 BTW, the Limelight Hydrangea is over 20 years old, so yours may get that big over time. Thank you again, I loved seeing everyone else's gardens too - gardeners love gardeners!
Loved your video so much, Lynn!
@@jksampley5872 thank you - it was so much fun to make 🥰
Your garden is beautiful
@@TonyaA7 thank you!
I was just thinking the other day how I should be recording my garden throughout the seasons, and now I know how. Should do! Thanks Lynn
OMG thank you for including my garden and my face paint 😆 I'm loving this series so much! And yes, you need to get a grapefruit tree!!
Ma'am, I grow a garden in a similar zone in France (6b) and you're an enchantress, a wizard, your garden is awesome !
❤❤❤ Jan's photo of her on the ground. How many times have I felt the same. 😂😂😂
I’m a zone 6 and this one was my favorite ❤️ so many beautiful gardens and inspiration!
WOW LYNN WOW! That is a dream!!! That is a getaway. That is a sanctuary. You should be so proud!
All the gardens are beautiful! It is amazing what we all can do in different zones, states, spaces and plants. Gardening is endless.
Thank you, Alison! It really is my sanctuary and my joy.
Lynne What a beautiful garden. Gorgeous! Heaven on Earth
Thank you so much Rosa!
Had to pause and comment.....Lynne's garden? Oh my word! I'm zone 6, so I was anxiously awaiting this video. I am so jealous I live in the city (not on a wooded acre) but the fact that she has planted most of her property with plants and not lawn is exactly what I dream of. Glorious!
Thanks, Kristy! Indeed, I have 2 small patches of grass that take me only a few minutes to mow. It's all about the flowers and the pollinators here 😊
Lynne your garden is magical, just so glorious to see as you walked us through the seasons! I LOVE what you created! Allan, stunning garden and lawns! Lots of color every where and just beautiful! Betthany's container deck garden is amazing! Clark, Jojo, Katie, all your gardens are so beautiful!!
Thank you Pat! I just love being in it every day 😊
Thats the BEST type of before and after video. Showing all seasons as well as a before!! I want to do that with my garden.
I really appreciate you Janey doing a shout-out for my channel! I enjoyed watching other gardens from my zone (and other zones) they are very beautiful 😀
Wow. What talented gardeners and beautiful gardens. I am loving this series and looking forward to the Zone 10 where I garden. No matter what the zone, there is always something you can learn from other gardeners. Thank you Janey.
The first one!!❤❤❤
Me again, asking for a patio/balcony/urban garden series!!!
Pixie is the cutest sniffing all the blooms ❤
She bit off all the blossoms the first spring, now she has become a good garden citizen and just sniffs 🥰
I love these Zone 6 gardens. One more lovely than the other. My favorite is the first one in southwestern PA.
I live in zone 6a. Beautiful and peaceful garden! Loved the pup!!! Thanks for sharing the garden tour and all the beautiful plants and shrubs that will thrive in zone 6.
Hi Janey! I learned from these videos that there are perennial Canna Lilies in older zones! I am so excited to know this and that they grow to nice big sizes. I think I will replace some of my diseased rose bushes with these. Thank you so much again for sharing these videos.❤
I was definitely craving longer tours!
These tours have been to fun to watch. I garden in zone 6B in SW Idaho. I am just getting started turning my big lawn yard into some flower beds. We have pretty sandy soil here and not much nutrients available so I am mulch, mulch, mulching and getting some success. I am 73 years old with COPD but I can still do most of what I used to. It just takes me longer. It has become my passion. I planted Hydrangias, Hardy Hibiscus, and some grasses last year. Can't wait to see what they look like next spring. Your videos have helped inspire me. Thanks
Love, love this garden series, patiently waiting for zone 10! Thanks so much Jamie. They say something good comes from something bad, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Oh, my goodness! Each and every submission is beautiful and informative. Zone 6 is also my zone and this video gives me inspiration. Jan, I'm right there with you crashing on the ground. Being of a certain age, my garden vision doesn't always take into consideration my physical capabilities. Sometimes it's frustrating but I go to plan B and keep going!
Loving this series!
Wow so very nice! I’m 6 a here in Nova Scotia, love all these flowers🥰
I find these tours extremely helpful! Another idea: Zone by altitude and challenges. I am zone 6 in northern Arizona. Many plants will grow in Flagstaff but water is expensive and at 7,000 feet the sun is intense where there is enough. I’d like more ideas for successful plants in dry shade and dappled light because my garden is in a Ponderosa pine forested neighborhood.
I hope you make this a regular feature !!!!!
Excellent gardens , very nice .
I'm really enjoying seeing all the beautiful gardens! This year I soaked my tulip bulbs in animal repellant before planting after getting this tip on a garden tour. Hopefully this will deter critters from eating the bulbs before they have a chance to grow.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THESE ZONE 6 GARDENS!!! I'M SO INSPIRED!!!
I just love what you are doing with the different zones❣️❣️❣️
I would have submitted but I was in the middle of setting up my new phone.
Great job everyone!
Awesome! I’m in zone 6b and just planted snow peas, beets, carrots & lettuces.
Janey I plant my bulbs in chicken wire cages it really helps with gophers . Looking forward to the 9 and 10 zone gardens. Love all the gardens you have shown.🧡🌻
This is my zone. Great gardens and tips! I think one of the most important things I would say about my Gardens is to amend the soil. I have several compost bins and I keep using all of the compost to make my gardens the best they can be. It all starts with the soil.
Good morning Janey 🌺 Wow amazing and pretty gardens in zone 6 . The blue flowers in the gardens looks charming . Have awonderful day. 🌺🌻🌺
Janey, the squirrels grab bulbs like they are their candy! I have put chicken wire over the planted bulbs which really helps. ( that was after they dug up 100 tulips after planting) lesson learned! 😂 I’m in zone 5b but will definitely try some zone 6 plants. Love seeing other gardens to inspire me for next year! Have a great day!
So true, squirrels are very determined to find every bulb possible and are ridiculously strong. They find potted bulbs and can chew off tree like sunflowers, cart them off in just minutes! My area has so much squirrel food to choose from, but they prefer garden, same with deer. Hope you find a way to deter them, I quit planting them. Thankfully, they haven't found all of my grape hyacinths..yet.
Love these garden I’m in zone 9 pensacola fl with our high humidity rain and Sandy soil it’s so hard amend soil is my mantra …. Thanks Janey you are an awesome presenter !!!
The garden with the roses and the pool is spectacular! If I had that pool, I'd never need a vacation its paradise.
I am loving each one of these different zones series. Great idea! Sorry you had the accident with the rock winning. But, it gave you time to take us a different direction while you are on the mend. I guess you might say, God opened another window.❤❤❤
This was great. Just wish some balcony gardens were featured.
Thanks Janey🪴
holy moly that first garden!
Beautiful gardens. Congratulation on all your hard work.
I crave this series but with vegetables/fruits instead of flowers 🤤
I'm 6b western NC but on a VERY sunny hill & historical farm land. I'll send what I can.
22:10 this is so inspiring!!! I never imagined a pool on our too sunny section, but now - that is so perfect.
That was lots of fun!!!!! Thx Janey🌿
These zone 6 gardens are such an inspiration to me in zone 7b! I am so excited to see what people in my zone areas have done! This is the best series!! Thank you Janey!! ❤❤
I’m 7b to and can’t wait to see what others do!
@@Jesusisthesweetestname me too!! I'm new to 7b so I'm really excited that fall is here so I can handle being outside again 😂
You are so sweet and complimentary!
Love this THANK YOU
Wow! More great gardens! Thanks for using your down time so well!
Thank you!!!!!
This is such an awesome video, 1000% what I was looking for when I searched. Super informative, so well spoken. Very good audio quality, pacing. Thank you! New Follower *ding ding ding*
Very helpful, thank you so much!
I’m really enjoying this series, thank you!
Janey, this is so much fun and I'm getting great ideas. Thank you everyone.❤
Holy cow those are amazing and inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Loving this series of garden tours Janey! I’m sure you’re having fun putting this all together.
Janey, loved this video.💖🌻
Janey I have loved this series. These gardeners are an inspiration.
Janey, thank you for sharing all of these. It's so interesting to see the different taste in gardening. I could sit and watch for hours. I'm in MN zone 4 so everything has pretty much gone to sleep. This has been a great idea.
Beautiful yards, I've already put mine to sleep for the winter, maybe next yr.. Oklahoma Panhandle ZONE 6b
Morning.
Hi Janey, I am so enjoying this series. It’s fun seeing gardens from around our country. I am picking up tips and getting ideas & inspiration from each of the gardeners. I live in SoCal, zone 10, and am really looking forward to these upcoming videos. I look forward to your youtube channel, Janey, and start each day with you. 🌻
Zone 6 💚🌲🦋🐞🌺
I had an upstairs neighbor who also container gardened when I owned a condo. It was pretty until she would water without warning. I would get soaked when she watered. The containers drained down onto my patio. It ruined my pretty patio furniture. My table and patio always had a layer of dirt on it from the brown water. She did not have a scheduled watering time. Day or night if I was on my patio there was a 90% chance my hair and clothes would get soaked. The old bat had dementia, and yes I said old bat but as you can see I have ptsd lol. When she was in her right mind she was quite lovley❤. She would agree to yell heads up before she watered, but then she would forget.😂
Everything was beautiful, and LOVE Jan's arches! I would love to know where she got them! They really made her garden even more spectacular! Thanks, Janey!
Start the day being inspired!
Tulips are tempting to animals. You can put chicken wire over the tulips before covering them
Jeney, the president it’s at Filoli, our favorite mansion
Love starting day with this inspiring videos!!!! Sad when it ends…. Maybe an hour long😉😉😉😮😮😮
💚
I’m jealous of people with well behaved dogs like Pixie! I have two huskies that love to dig in the garden, Michael Glassman’s video gave me some good ideas with the troughs. I know foxgloves and daylilies are toxic - I was thinking of using delphiniums to get foxglove look, and would love ideas on substitutes for daylilies that are mid to late summer bloomers for zone 5b.
I planted Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer' last year and this year it bloomed for 8 weeks starting right at daylily season - a favorite of pollinators too. Brown eyed Susan (Rudbeckia triloba) also starts blooming in July and goes until first frost - it self seeds politely and is the host plant for several butterflies.
@@lynnpurse great suggestions, thanks Lynn, your garden really inspired me!
PS- Jan’s yard (no dig) yard…that was catmint not Russian sage😜😜😜
Does Jan have a RUclips link ? I love her garden
***Tip*** Keep critters from eating your bulbs by wrapping them with a thin layer of steel wool before planting.
1. I thought you were Kate Hudson.
2. I live in zone 6b and the spotted lantern flies destroyed every single tree and plant in my backyard. My front yard where my garden receives full sun was fine. My part sun/ shade garden didn’t survive. 😢
Janey greenstalk ❤
He doesn't know the easy cheap way because the easy way isn't cheap and the cheap way is not easy. 😢 The cheap ways to buy individual plants you like that you want more of and figure out how to take cuttings and route them and then wait the years it takes for all the stuff to get to size. So 10 plus years versus two or three years..
Also winter sewing seeds makes it cheeper
