I love how this film shows how its the small things that are so romantic when you fall in love, how brushing teeth together can be romantic. When you are in love all the little things are big things bc you just love being with that person. Few films pull that off
And exactly in that moment, when Pacino was about to give up and close the door. This gorgeous blonde comes and ask him if he want to brush by the time this beautiful song play on the radio. I didn't need to lie, what a powerful love scene, and for Christ sake, Michelle was so pretty in this movie. 😍😍😍
I love the look on Frankie's face when she realizes the woman in the apartment across the street finally got the courage to leave her abusive husband. Earlier in the movie Frankie sees him beating her. Later she runs into the woman and offers to help, but the woman tells her to mind her own business. Maybe Frankie gave her the push she needed.
I remember watching this movie so many times back when I came to America. I haven't spoken any English, used to feel very lonely and cry like a baby in the end :)

Her mannerisms, the good, the bad. She's 31 now. I'm going to send her this movie on a usb, along with a leather sketchbook with her initials and a nice old ink pen. prove me wrong - when frankie looks at the guy through the window, she is happy the woman left, but the look she gives is a reluctant desire for the shirtless man. the first thing johnny says when he approaches, after frankie pretends to have not been looking at the shirtless man, is that he won't ask whose robe he's wearing. she replies "good," then "no matter what?", with the full knowledge that whether it's the guy in the window or someone else, she's gonna be unfaithful to johnny. she finally gives away her age so that's what johnny thinks she meant by it, after making him promise "no matter what." she now has something to hold over him, in her mind, should she ever get caught being unfaithful. the last shot of the movie is a panning away from them in bed to the window she was gazing out of - the idea being she will always have a wandering eye. what's a beautiful love story for johnny, and for the audience, is in reality frankie admitting she will be unfaithful to him down the road, and he's blissfully ignorant to that fact. in his mind he's got the girl, he won the prize. in the audience's mind they now get to live happily ever after. the film's ending implies that johnny is going to get his heart broken, possibly again and again. this is not a happy ending, it's a look into willful ignorance for the sake of love and those that would take advantage of it. the film itself is so well done that the audience themselves falls for it too.
