  • Organized by textbook: learncheme.com/ The transient temperature profile of a cooling sphere is developed and explored for Biot numbers ranging from 4 - in which lumped capacitance is a poor assumption - to 0.04 - in which lumped capacitance is a very reasonable approximation. The results are compared to analogous FEA simulations. Made by faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and processed by the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.
