On a serious note, this is actually true. I have been in strict diet twice in my life and have reduced substantial weight too. But I was able to maintain the weight loss for years only when I am in starvation mode. As soon as I increase my portion size, I rapidly gain weight. And no I don't eat sugar, alcohol or fast food ever. Only homemade food. I don't eat butter or ghee as well . As a foodie it's extremely depressing to avoid food but as soon as I embrace grains, my weight shoots up. And if I don't starve myself for months, I never loose even an ounce of weight

I dont agree with this. I have reduced weight just by reducing quantity of food and oil and increasing exercise and no sugar. Salad and all works for short term only.
