In UK terms this stitch is chain in sets of 3+1 UK Double crochet = USA Single crochet I used a UK hook size 6mm (USA J hook) You can do this in any yarn use the hook size it states on your yarn. You can use Double knitting it is still beautiful but takes longer to work up.
Thank u
Ii was watching and realized it was a usa sc had me confused at first. Didn't understand her at the first turning about the sc and than sc children sc what happens to first crochet . Will watch again
Looks awesome
@@gailarnold8957 .
I was yelling at the screen, " That's not a double crochet!". Thank you for the clarification. I think I learned that years ago...
Alison, I just love following you crocheting, for years I always wanted ti crochet, I could never get on to it, but since I found you on RUclips I can't believe I can crochet I'm so proud of my work, all Thanks to you, your an Angel Alison 🎉❤❤❤
Wonderful! well done Mary Xxx
Allison you really are the Queen of baby blankets!! I’m so glad I met you.
Thank you so much Xxx
I could listen to your voice all day. I have been crocheting for 40 years and I have learned so much in the last 3 years from your instructions. thanks for yor lessos
This is so easy to follow. I saw the pretty colors and knew this would be my next project. It is amazing to me (a beginner) how you show such complicated-looking stitch patterns, but then watching and listening to your channel, I can follow you. You are great. Keep up the good work and give Muttley a treat and a cuddle.
So nice to hear you, you even warn us of the mistakes we can make without realizing. I haven't heard too many crochet teachers do this. You are very caring. So nice ! This stitch is so rewarding!
I also appreciate that you give simple, pretty suggestions to finish the project!
You are so welcome!
And there’s my answer !! You are SUPER !! Isn’t it great to be a “world wide sensation “ !!! Really nothing calms the nerves like hand stitching!!! Just what we all need !
As we’re into our 5th MONTH of lockdown here in Toronto, only supermarkets and drugstores are open, I’ve got about 5 afghans on the go at the moment - switch from one to the other. Now I can add this!
This one is amazing and quick too. What else are you working on, Angela? I have 4 on the go. I am working on an updated pattern version of the Solomon's knot (love knot) It's usually quite wide and lacey (much to my thinking like a fishing net) this one is much more blanket like, more compact but still light and even if I say so myself beautiful.
Oh my goodness, you just come up with the most adorable stitches for blankets. Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.
You are so welcome!
Her voice is so soothing to listen to, I'm going to play this video to help me sleep at night.😄😴
thanks
I love this pattern, it's perfect for me!!! One row repeats seem to be the easiest for me to follow. Thank You Alison
Wonderful!
Thank you Alison - this stitch is perfect for a blanket/throw I've been asked to make. I have Paintbox Chunky Yarn in Duck Egg Blue ordered from Lovecrafts which should look great! As always, your instructions are clear - you're a joy to listen to! Keep cozy! J:)x
You are so welcome!
Wow I enjoy your videos and your accent so much. It relaxes me. I have a dozen of must do patterns. But one day at a time it will all be done 🙃❤🙃
Wonderful!
This is lovely. I just have to convert the stitch to U.S. terms. But after watching several of your videos it is getting easier. Love you work.
You are so welcome! US terms is single crochet
Wow that looks so easy the way you have shown us thank you very much Alison xxx
Alison,
I like the way you finished the blanket with the border.
This gives it a lacey effect, without being "girly" or too "frilly",
which is great for gentlemen's scarves.
mine turned out fab,
I’ve done a similar pattern by The Crochet Crowd, called The Open Work scarf. I made several lap blankets with this pattern. I will definitely give this new one a try too. Thanks, Jayne
Wonderful! It would be fab for a scarf. In my stitch book its textured picot stitch.
This is the first video I have seen of yours, I am definitely going to start this blanket today. I have a chunky/bulky yarn I have been trying to find the right pattern for. This looks perfect. (I'm only a beginner really) You have a new subscriber. Thank you
I just love this stitch thanks Alison for introducing me to it - I’m on my third blanket in this stitch ❤️🧶🧶
You are so welcome! my friend its lovely for summer tops too.
I'm so pleased that I came across this video. Thanks for sharing, it is fast and pretty! It also makes a pretty edging for a completed afghan
Thank you so much!
In oklahoma its a single chrochet :) how cool that were so different around the world❤️
It is, but can be confusing too. Ha ha ha ha I did a lot of my crochet in the states and when I began tutorials i even confused myself as I live in the UK. My mother taught me when i was young but it was only around 3 to 4 years ago I took it back up when I saw my friend Cassandra crochet a blanket. I went out and bought a few hooks and a pattern book (in USA terms) and off I went. Haven't stopped since then.
Yes, that's a single in my books...
Good morning, this easy and fast, love the stitch and yarn. Thank you for sharing and I have made some baby blankets since I been watching your videos. I love new patterns. Thank you again and stay warm and safe.
You are so welcome!
Oh my gosh. How easy and beautiful blankets. I love your teaching.
Hellosies 💕💕 💕 this is absolutely gorgeous & not difficult at all. I have been looking for a new (to me) simple but beautiful stitch to make as a wedding gift. I wanna make a large sofa throw in a cream color & this is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you Alison 💕
💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖
Thank you for this. It's beautiful and easy. I have some nice chunky yarn. I wan't sure what to do with it. It's really fun to do.
Love ALL your Videos. Love you most! Thanks for how Stress Free that your videos are, they are so peaceful. Love to your puppy.
Watching from USA Florida.
God bless you.
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous. My local Aldi had reduced the price of their 400gm Aran yarn to £2.49 so I bought 2 now I know what I’m going to use them for, thank you for another beautiful blanket stitch.
Oh wow! id have bough the lot that arran from there is lovely
I just got some Caron cakes for $3.99 each at Michaels and I know at least 2 colors I bought were chunky 😏
I think this will be my next blanket.
I've been working on a six foot rice/seedling stitch blanket, so I've used a LOT of yarn. lol
It has kept me warm while I'm working though.
This looks like one I can work on as the weather gets warmer.
Sounds great! This crochets up quicker than the rice stitch one. If you use a bigger hook it will be lighter and lacier for spring.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Thank you for the tip!
Another beautiful one to give it a go.. 🐦
Thank you, Your pattern is so simple. I love it

Morning Alison. You must have read my mind I have just had some Aran wool delivered from Deramores I wanted to crochet my hubby a blanket just to throw over his legs at night.
This pattern is so easy and quick can't wait to get started.

Love to Mutley take care...xx
Wonderful! it will be perfect for that. or to leave in the car too.
You are my favorite to watch. Everything is so pretty and easy. Thank you.
You are a great teacher I love your videos thank you x
Glad you like them!
This is fantastic!! I love how fast it works up. As soon as I finish the baby blanket I'm working on, I'm going to make another one using this stitch pattern. Thank you so much, Alison! I wonder how many times I'll have to FROG "extra" chains, LOL!!
Should be ok this time Amy, once you do the 1st loop row just pic out any odd one left as its only a chain count of 3 then add 1 extra (that helps make the very 1st UK double crochet stitch without taking away from the stitch count.
Thank you for sharing, i really like the look of this stitch looks very
easy to follow, i think the variegated yarn looks entirely different from the solid yard you can really see the pattern with solid yarn 💖🍃
Yes, you are right

This is so gorgeous. I'll make a throw for my grown up nephew in this stitch in one colour only and a plain border. However I love the border you did for a female. So stunning.
