I genuinely think Radahn is the hardest boss in any souls game his second phase is too much you can’t tell what’s going on half the time because of the light explosions

Some bosses do swing too much with little breaks which sucks since you can’t use their attacks against them like in Sekiro. You gotta run/dodge which doesn’t do anything to bosses
The base game had a lot of performance issues aswell when it was released and it got fixed like 2 or 3 months later. So its safe to assume the dlc will get improved aswell

Only little problem I have are few bosses 1-2 attacks like the mother of fingers huge AOE explosions feels literally impossible to dodge, I could never pull it off even once and messmer Fire attack blocks some of his attacks and I can’t see shit. Also, Gaius boar charge attack is straight up braindead
I do agree besides the final bosses second phase needs a nerf. The bosses being more aggressive and not giving as much breathing room makes sense imo. But the dlc is like the base game, you really can make it significantly easier for yourself.

Also here’s a tip I figured out for fellow strength users if you’re struggling against the final boss. Use the fingerprint shield and equip the lance with heavy affinity. Make sure you also craft blood grease, freeze grease or rot grease. Radahn is vulnerable to status effects, and you can negate a majority of the damage by blocking. As you’re blocking, you can shield poke with your lance. Radahn is also weak to pierce damage.
I did the entire dlc at scadu 5, SL150 on ng+ as pure melee without summons and after dying to radahn in phase two from the frame drops and spell effects literally obscuring his entire model I said fuck it, leveled to scadu 12 and threw on moore's greatshield and killed him first try while holding L1 and poking him for 4 minutes straight. it really took no effort at all but I didn't care. the fight wasn't fun either way. the fps drops and the visual clutter completely ruined the fight anyway. the fact that he is that cheesable is testament to poor design imo. I could handle all the aoe spam mechanical wise but I can't even see this massive gorilla start his next attack chain from all the pillars of light
The most difficult for me were Messmer, the Final Boss, Midra and Putrescent Knight Putrescent Knight because he was my first remembrance boss in the DLC
Great list one thing to comment on, messmer can take damage when he's a snake, in fact he takes bonus damage (at least it felt like he took more damage when i fought him) if you hit him as a snake. So once hes done with a snake combo you can attack the snake head as its transforming back into messmer for a great opening.
Came here after beating Radahn and see there are two bosses I missed. And that second phase of Radahn and Miquella is like a DBZ battle. You got ki blasts, final explosion, instant transmission attacks. Was wild
I think the dlc only has 3 mandatory bosses, messmer, romina and promised consort.... all the others are either optional or you can easily skip them (with no bugs)
I agree Messmer is difficult, but I actually used double the amount of tries on Romina. Idk I think it was because I met her so early and her HP bar was insane. Really enjoyed fighting her tho, and got her to 7-5% almost every time, which was a bit annoying. She's prob easier than Messmer and I just got lucky with him and unlucky with her.

I definitely think the final boss is the toughest they've ever made. Isshin is very tough but once you get the fight down its not even as difficult as Malenia still is, and final boss is much tougher than both
Finally killed radahn today I summoned some random dude who tanked him while I stood back and healed with incantations and did some light dps . That fights nuts you almost have to treat that guy like a raid boss
Golden Hippo is actually not mandatory, I had gotten to the shadow keep from the eastern gate leading to the sunken rooftops. I didn’t even know he was a boss until after I beat the game.
I was stuck at the Scadutree avatar fight for a week. For an entire Monday thru Friday after work. Was the 3rd boss I found. First Boss into shadow keep. And it was impossibly hard. I had to quit and go elsewhere, killed messmere and guiss saturday morning, returned with messmere spear and finally killed the Scadutree with messmere fire spear.
Romina is a fantastic difficult fight if you get to her early with like lvl 6/7 scadutree. Bayle is mid you can literally just slap on the fire resist talisman, tank the only move he really does when youre underneath him, and go ham on him. Radahn is obviously the hardest, but to the extent it doesnt count. It just fucking sucks. The phase 2 is bullshit no matter how hard you try to defend it. Like you say, it all depends on where your power levels lie. I one tapped Metyr doing 6k every jumping R1 with my horned warrior swords. The balancing in the DLC is ultimately a problem they couldn't fully solve. Such a shame people miss out on great fights like Romina because they go into the boss room and melt her.
eh i found romina the easiest and I didn't even get hit by her on my 2nd attempt, and I was scadutree level 8, I personally think her moveset is predictable, but each to their own.

God I hope they fix gaius’ hitbox that shit was something else trying to fight. Agree with the rest of the list though, I’d probably put bayle above gaius for me. That dragon slapped me around quite abit but he felt fair at least
One thing to Think about before crying about difficulty. People asked for base game radahn to be nerfed and everyone regretted it, same for balteus. Malenia was also basically unbeatable to people, but now 2 years later a lot of people really love malenia as a boss. So like with the bosses mentioned, do we really want to make the bosses easier? Cause if theyre easier the games pve longjevity Will suffer
Nameless is very easy, perfectly readable attacks and pretty easy to avoid, i would actually argue that if you are too cocky, 2nd phase is easier than the first phase since i've never died to his 2nd phase.

Bayle didn’t beat Placidusax in the lore, they fought each other to a stalemate as they both suffered serious injuries. Bayle took two of Placidusax’s heads while losing his wings and a leg.
Fun fact: Only 4 bosses are required to beat the dlc. Messmur, Saint of the Bud, the npc boss before the final boss, and the final boss. The others are optional because you can use side paths to avoid them.

Saying radahn is easier than isshin is crazy. Isshin isnt even the hardest boss in sekiro and sekiro isnt a hard game. As for radahn, he is hard and i see why people find him hard, it took me way longer to beat malenia for the first time than radahn and i would say malenia is harder than radahn but its close.
@@AkxerxAMV I will Be honest, Isshin is not really that bad, defiantly way more easier than radahn especially when you can counter his lighting attacks, I did just a normal run with no item uses, and just my blade alone with the skills i earned, and beat him in less than an hour, But Promised consort radahn is a hole ton of a close to seemed rigged fight at point, took me 6 hours against him with just collosal sword and light load with no buffs or spells (didn't uses status effects either), than rebeat him with medium load which was another 3 hours, did that one on ng+7(very crazy fight indeed), but i respect if you find the mechanics of sekiro and its bosses more challenging, its a great and challenging game after all. Radahn 100% dethroned malenia that's for sure.
@arto7029 I really dont see it. Maybe its a difference in playstyle but Radahn wasn't all that difficult for me compared to the other bosses in the dlc. Rellana took me more tried to beat then him, she took around 20 for me and radahn only 4 (no ash of war no summons) w malikeths black blade. His attacks were pretty well telegraphed and nothing seemed totally unfair, minus like 2 distinct attacks in phase 1 and 2. And while yes I agree Isshin isnt nearly as bad as people said he was in sekiro, (took me about 7 tries) since he essentially gets easier after the 2nd phase with lightning reversal, Inner father I feel is still far harder than radahn but just my opinion.

For anyone who's struggling with Putrescent Knight, just use weapon that deals holy damage like Marika's hammer. This Boss is very weak to holy damage.
With Metyrs big laser attack, you have to avoid the beams by passing UNDER them, between them and Metyr. Just by running. Don't try to i-frame it. I found that Messmer gives VERY good windows for punish at the ends of his snake attacks. Especially good to have a heavy damage Ash of War for that. Radahn is easily the hardest boss in ER, that's for sure. Far harder than Malenia. Literally the only time I've summoned for a boss. (There's a great window when he does the orbital nuke attack).
I think radahn is stronger than sword saint isshin in base game no nothing But if you compare ng+7 in sekiro and elden isshin and radahn When u also ring the demon bell and get rid of kuro's charm then thats when isshin becomes way harder
I agree Bayle beats Midir as best dragon fight and Midir was one of my favorite bosses in all of the games. Placidusaux is super cool but i personally think the mechanics of his fight kinda suck.
When putrescent knight does his downward and sidewards combo, you can full charge a heavy attack out of his range, he will always run to your left after doing that combo.
Funny enough for Commander Gaius, there's a bug where if he does the dash attack on you where he runs really fast at you and then lunges when he gets close, if you are able to cover the distance after he lunges to get to him in a sort of 90 degree angle from when he starts to turn to face you, he just completely stops moving. Just stands there and lets you wail on him. If you similarly don't move and keep the position he just stays like that. I beat him like this after a couple of times doing it by accident. I thought it was a funny and memorable way to beat him. Future runs I'll do it the old fashioned way.
I went around the corner to the left after entering the arena, and he charged at me. He got stuck there sprinting in place so I spammed Bloodboon Ritual 😂 he’s pissed me off more than any boss so far. All I have left is Radahn.
Same. I had a pretty rough time with her. I think I reached her too fast. It took more tries to kill her than Messmer. I loved her design tho. I wish she had more moves tho, as it sometimes felt like she spammed the same things in phase 2. I killed her earlier than Messmer, just to make that clear. I'm sure she would be easier the other way around.

You mentioned about Bayle and Placidusaxx's fight, they actually fought to stalemate but aside from that a cool detail if you look at Bayle's model you can actually see two of Placidusaxx's heads still biting into him one by his leg the other by his wings what's implied by a the lore is that Bayle was getting absolutley bodied and due to his skill issue tried flying away ripping off two of placidusaxx's heads while he was rage quitting
Commander Gaius is bad but he's not Bed of Chaos bad. People who say that are delusional because at least Gaius has a relatively decent moveset outside of his broken charge. Bed of Chaos is Bed of Chaos. There's no redeeming factors outside of the fact that your progress is saved
The issue with the final boss is that everything is exploding all around you and you can't even tell what's going on. It's also very unclear how you're even supposed to avoid all those aoe attacks... def harder than Ishin. Ishin is hard but yes crystal clear how to avoid getting hit, this one Idk what to do, I just take the hit and heal
All the bosses are easy if your HP bar is stretched out across the screen like that 😂 Not the type of player one needs to pay attention to when it comes to their opinion on boss difficulty 😂 You haven't fought anything difficult.
Agree with top and bottom. My blind&solo experience with these bosses in terms of death was/is Hippo: 0 Dancing Beast: 4 Tree Avatar: up to 10 Romina: 0 Metyr: 0 Putrescent Knight: 1 Midra: over 10 Gaius: 6 or 7 Relanna: close to 20 Messmer: around 15 Bayle: 0 Radahn: up to 100 and still going 😂 Radahn feels a bit overtuned in regards to the other boss fights for me. Either he is a bit too hard, or the others are (mostly) too easy.
Consort Radahns biggest weakness is a shield how can he be the hardest boss in souls? The frenzied flame boss is harder with the shield equipped. The funny thing about these difficulty lists is that they are so subjective someone needs to come up with some actual criteria for ranking them relative to the recommended level stregnths weaknesses and whatever else they can think of that actually makes it a little more objective. I will give my son as example here it took him 5 hours on mesmer probably running with no armor for a light load. He beat Sword st Ishin on attempt 2.
Wow, we have completely different play styles and rankings. Putrescent Knight kicked my ass and I barely squeaked by thanks to my summon. Romina was one and done in less than a minute. Metyr I agree with, that was a fun fight. I got my ass kicked almost the way up the mountain to Bayle and did some thorough prep before him and beat him first go. Used Ranni’s moon, adulas moon blade, dragon ice, and the dragon great katana. Plus all the negation talismans I had. It actually disappointed me because the fight was so hyped and I’m not that good. This game rarely rewards my plans but it did that time.
Bayle was one of the easiest bosses, and one of the easiest dragon fights in Elden Ring. The new dlc weapon Dragon Hunter katana completely trivialized all the dragons in the dlc. It's ashe of war automatically carries a jump animation that keeps you off the ground for extended periods; and the attack itself chunks away health. Just stand underneath and behind him and send it threw the leg and up into the body. If you miss the leg, you're going to hit the body, with such a big target you're going to get chunky somewhere. Was an accidental one-shot gg easy and I didn't even get to summon the guy for the quest.
I heard a lot of negativity about Gaius as well before reaching him and he is just one of those bosses that clicks with me. Dispatched him after about 5 tries without too much trouble. I could immediately tell trying to ride Torrent was a bad idea and he only has 3 different attacks so the move set was easy to learn. I do tend to fare well against the dodge roll timey bosses though so it could just be a personal preference for me.
Radahn is not the hardest boss in souls games if he had a little less damage and health he would be way more manageable they just gave him that cause he’s the last boss of the dlc but inner isshin you have to use everything you learn in the game plus he has 50/50 attacks
Bayle didn’t beat placidusax, it was pretty even until they both became greatly wounded and then bayle ran away while placidusax was biting into him causing the two heads of placidusax to be ripped off
I played dlc and stucked on Radahn. I user bloody chiken arm, which makes enemies bleed every 1-2 hits, and I losed more than 200 times. Is here someone who still thinks that Radahn not the hardest boss?
The hardest boss has to be commander gaius. Idk why for me. Radahn was tough yes. But he gave me not near as much trouble as gauis. Also side note. I one hit Messur starting his second phase after he hit the ground it was satisfying
Bayle the Dread is basically just a slightly easier version of Dark Eater Midir. The reason why I think he’s a little easier than Midir, mostly happens to be because of the mechanics of Elden Ring. Elden Ring is just in general a much smoother game with better movement, and access to jumping attacks. DS3 is significantly clunkier, and your attacks are slower. That alone makes fights harder.

Golden hippo isnt a mandatory boss. You can enter the dungeon through a side entrance
and the dancing lion has a wind phase , not just lightning and ice.

That's how I done it but the souls community calls the use of heavy shields as horrible, heinous, cheese and blasphemous as the idea of summoning

I got carried through Messmur by a "Let me Solo" and i didn't swing at all until the end when the boss was 1 HP and the summon died 😅
Golden Hippo was so painfully easy he was the only boss who never killed me. If only Radahn was like that.

Idk if I’m just bad but I found Rellana to be (by far) the hardest boss in the dlc. Like I was level 5 scadutree level and I still could not cope lmao

Pubescent knight is waaaaaay harder than you give it credit for … top 7 boss for sure
I beat it today and I was seriously expecting a second phase with a new healthbar I did it so easily. I was Scadu 16 so that might have been why
I found it as one of the easiest bosses out there. My key was to simply tank and overpower him
not really. pretty telegraphed attacks and easy to dodge. hes mid on the difficulty meter for me

Bayle didn’t beat Placidusax in the lore, they fought each other to a stalemate as they both suffered serious injuries. Bayle took two of Placidusax’s heads while losing his wings and a leg.
Apparently Placidusax fucked up Bayle he ran away and Palcidusax heads were still fighting him after he ran away 😂

Fun fact: Only 4 bosses are required to beat the dlc. Messmur, Saint of the Bud, the npc boss before the final boss, and the final boss. The others are optional because you can use side paths to avoid them.

Saying radahn is easier than isshin is crazy. Isshin isnt even the hardest boss in sekiro and sekiro isnt a hard game. As for radahn, he is hard and i see why people find him hard, it took me way longer to beat malenia for the first time than radahn and i would say malenia is harder than radahn but its close.
He is definitely easier than isshin and inner father.
@@AkxerxAMV I will Be honest, Isshin is not really that bad, defiantly way more easier than radahn especially when you can counter his lighting attacks, I did just a normal run with no item uses, and just my blade alone with the skills i earned, and beat him in less than an hour, But Promised consort radahn is a hole ton of a close to seemed rigged fight at point, took me 6 hours against him with just collosal sword and light load with no buffs or spells (didn't uses status effects either), than rebeat him with medium load which was another 3 hours, did that one on ng+7(very crazy fight indeed), but i respect if you find the mechanics of sekiro and its bosses more challenging, its a great and challenging game after all. Radahn 100% dethroned malenia that's for sure.
@arto7029 I really dont see it. Maybe its a difference in playstyle but Radahn wasn't all that difficult for me compared to the other bosses in the dlc. Rellana took me more tried to beat then him, she took around 20 for me and radahn only 4 (no ash of war no summons) w malikeths black blade. His attacks were pretty well telegraphed and nothing seemed totally unfair, minus like 2 distinct attacks in phase 1 and 2. And while yes I agree Isshin isnt nearly as bad as people said he was in sekiro, (took me about 7 tries) since he essentially gets easier after the 2nd phase with lightning reversal, Inner father I feel is still far harder than radahn but just my opinion.

Everyone always talking about metyr mother of fingers moveset being easy to learn, but every video that accompanies said narrative shows the players being absolutely blasted by the ‘black hole’ and spinning beyblade finger attacks 😂
The golden hippo took me longer than messmer 😂😂 messmer took me like 4 tries but the hippo had me hung up for like an hour
For anyone who's struggling with Putrescent Knight, just use weapon that deals holy damage like Marika's hammer. This Boss is very weak to holy damage.
divine lion also has a wind element that it can switch too as well.

With Metyrs big laser attack, you have to avoid the beams by passing UNDER them, between them and Metyr. Just by running. Don't try to i-frame it.
I found that Messmer gives VERY good windows for punish at the ends of his snake attacks. Especially good to have a heavy damage Ash of War for that.
Radahn is easily the hardest boss in ER, that's for sure. Far harder than Malenia. Literally the only time I've summoned for a boss. (There's a great window when he does the orbital nuke attack).

Youre parrying and bleeding the final boss. It is absolutely the hardest boss in souls and its not even close.
I agree Bayle beats Midir as best dragon fight and Midir was one of my favorite bosses in all of the games. Placidusaux is super cool but i personally think the mechanics of his fight kinda suck.
When putrescent knight does his downward and sidewards combo, you can full charge a heavy attack out of his range, he will always run to your left after doing that combo.
I am currently on the final boss. Done every other boss. Bayle and radahn are another level of hard 😂

for some reasons I first tried Messmer but got stuck on the Dancing Lion for an hour

Funny enough for Commander Gaius, there's a bug where if he does the dash attack on you where he runs really fast at you and then lunges when he gets close, if you are able to cover the distance after he lunges to get to him in a sort of 90 degree angle from when he starts to turn to face you, he just completely stops moving. Just stands there and lets you wail on him. If you similarly don't move and keep the position he just stays like that. I beat him like this after a couple of times doing it by accident. I thought it was a funny and memorable way to beat him. Future runs I'll do it the old fashioned way.
I went around the corner to the left after entering the arena, and he charged at me. He got stuck there sprinting in place so I spammed Bloodboon Ritual 😂 he’s pissed me off more than any boss so far. All I have left is Radahn.
Kinda wish it wasn’t radahn again but ahh well I guess we’ll never know what truly happened to Godwyn 😢

Same. I had a pretty rough time with her. I think I reached her too fast. It took more tries to kill her than Messmer. I loved her design tho. I wish she had more moves tho, as it sometimes felt like she spammed the same things in phase 2. I killed her earlier than Messmer, just to make that clear. I'm sure she would be easier the other way around.

You mentioned about Bayle and Placidusaxx's fight, they actually fought to stalemate but aside from that a cool detail if you look at Bayle's model you can actually see two of Placidusaxx's heads still biting into him one by his leg the other by his wings what's implied by a the lore is that Bayle was getting absolutley bodied and due to his skill issue tried flying away ripping off two of placidusaxx's heads while he was rage quitting

Commander Gaius is bad but he's not Bed of Chaos bad. People who say that are delusional because at least Gaius has a relatively decent moveset outside of his broken charge. Bed of Chaos is Bed of Chaos. There's no redeeming factors outside of the fact that your progress is saved
The issue with the final boss is that everything is exploding all around you and you can't even tell what's going on. It's also very unclear how you're even supposed to avoid all those aoe attacks... def harder than Ishin. Ishin is hard but yes crystal clear how to avoid getting hit, this one Idk what to do, I just take the hit and heal
All the bosses are easy if your HP bar is stretched out across the screen like that 😂 Not the type of player one needs to pay attention to when it comes to their opinion on boss difficulty 😂 You haven't fought anything difficult.

Radahn feels a bit overtuned in regards to the other boss fights for me. Either he is a bit too hard, or the others are (mostly) too easy.
Consort Radahns biggest weakness is a shield how can he be the hardest boss in souls? The frenzied flame boss is harder with the shield equipped. The funny thing about these difficulty lists is that they are so subjective someone needs to come up with some actual criteria for ranking them relative to the recommended level stregnths weaknesses and whatever else they can think of that actually makes it a little more objective. I will give my son as example here it took him 5 hours on mesmer probably running with no armor for a light load. He beat Sword st Ishin on attempt 2.
Wow, we have completely different play styles and rankings. Putrescent Knight kicked my ass and I barely squeaked by thanks to my summon. Romina was one and done in less than a minute. Metyr I agree with, that was a fun fight. I got my ass kicked almost the way up the mountain to Bayle and did some thorough prep before him and beat him first go. Used Ranni’s moon, adulas moon blade, dragon ice, and the dragon great katana. Plus all the negation talismans I had. It actually disappointed me because the fight was so hyped and I’m not that good. This game rarely rewards my plans but it did that time.
Bayle was one of the easiest bosses, and one of the easiest dragon fights in Elden Ring.
The new dlc weapon Dragon Hunter katana completely trivialized all the dragons in the dlc.
It's ashe of war automatically carries a jump animation that keeps you off the ground for extended periods; and the attack itself chunks away health.
Just stand underneath and behind him and send it threw the leg and up into the body.
If you miss the leg, you're going to hit the body, with such a big target you're going to get chunky somewhere.
Was an accidental one-shot gg easy and I didn't even get to summon the guy for the quest.

I heard a lot of negativity about Gaius as well before reaching him and he is just one of those bosses that clicks with me. Dispatched him after about 5 tries without too much trouble. I could immediately tell trying to ride Torrent was a bad idea and he only has 3 different attacks so the move set was easy to learn. I do tend to fare well against the dodge roll timey bosses though so it could just be a personal preference for me.
Radahn is not the hardest boss in souls games if he had a little less damage and health he would be way more manageable they just gave him that cause he’s the last boss of the dlc but inner isshin you have to use everything you learn in the game plus he has 50/50 attacks
Bayle didn’t beat placidusax, it was pretty even until they both became greatly wounded and then bayle ran away while placidusax was biting into him causing the two heads of placidusax to be ripped off
I played dlc and stucked on Radahn. I user bloody chiken arm, which makes enemies bleed every 1-2 hits, and I losed more than 200 times. Is here someone who still thinks that Radahn not the hardest boss?
The hardest boss has to be commander gaius. Idk why for me. Radahn was tough yes. But he gave me not near as much trouble as gauis. Also side note. I one hit Messur starting his second phase after he hit the ground it was satisfying
Bayle the Dread is basically just a slightly easier version of Dark Eater Midir. The reason why I think he’s a little easier than Midir, mostly happens to be because of the mechanics of Elden Ring. Elden Ring is just in general a much smoother game with better movement, and access to jumping attacks. DS3 is significantly clunkier, and your attacks are slower. That alone makes fights harder.

DS3 roll and heal is much faster. You can soam those. You can’t do that in ER. Don’t agree at all
