It was love at first sight for Lan Wangji. The very first time he laid his eyes on Wei Wuxian, he fell in love. After Wei Wuxian's death, he broke a lot of the Lan Clan Rules. He got drunk and even put the qishan wen sect mark on his chest just like Wuxian's. He grieved because he was in seclusion during the Burial Mount Seige and he couldn't do anything to save Wei Wuxian. He waited for 13 years, performing inquiry in hope that he could find even just a tiny bit of Wuxian's soul. And after the long wait, Wei Ying came back and played the song Lan Zhan wrote at Dafan Mountain. Lan Zhan knew at that moment that it was him. Lan Zhan did not let him go again.
This, my friends, is true love. Pure and sacrifing. So sad, it's rare these days and only happens in fiction.

for the 3rd mastermind of this story -> the one who brought WXX back to life.. i'm sure despite the flips of it.. wangji must be secretly blessing him :P .. no wonder no one questioned him much and left his involvement a hypothesis.. :P .. but this 3rd villain was a pleasant surprise
Lastly, i wish author would write wangji's perspective on the whole story.. wish it could happen

I love at how most of the episodes are just Lan Zhan protecting/risking his life just to save Wei Wuxian and I'm loving that fact 😭💔
well that's basicly the main romantic plot, in the pass, LZ loved WY and didn't manage to save him because he let all the rules and traditions bind him and he went home for punishment instead of staying by wy's side and so wy died without him knowing. This time, LZ threw out all the rules and sticked by wy and never letting him go.
That's because he love him more than his life ❤️

I love how Xiao Zhan and Yibo are such amazing actors until the level they don’t need to kiss each other to make us know how pure is the love between Wei Ying and Lan Zhan, like they literally kissed each other with their eyes, the chremistry is hUGE. Honestly, I don’t care about the Chinese censure because their love can’t be hidden even if they try. if you only put enough attention you can see clearly that they’re more than just friends, I love it. I want to say thank you to our amazing actors, Xiao and Yibo understand so well their characters and their relationship that they did the best for showing us that it is there, even if they can’t kiss or if they can’t say “I love you” out loud.

LWJ was irritated by how his love at first sight was WWX so he acted like he hated him only to know it was a lie. He couldn't stand the fact that Wei Ying threw himself off a cliff and died. But he was the first one to know that Wei Ying was there. Just because the ban of bl shows are in China doesn't mean that we will believe that his feelings are fake because no matter how anyone changes the script it's always been and always will be lan Wang ji and Wei Wuxian

It really hits deep when you realise that Lan Zhan was suffering just as much as Wei Wuxian did. Imagine watching the love of your life falling deeper into the dark arts that you know will eventually kill not just himself but also the one he cares about. He knows how much pain it will cost WWX if he lost control of his power and kill the people he wanted to protect that's why LZ was trying to prevent that as much as he was trying to prevent WWX's death but then WWX didn't listen (coz he didn't have a choice) and that just made LWJ even more anxious day by day and the fact that he thought that WWX hated him didn't help that. LWJ was just so selfless the whole time. He didn't care even if WWX doesn't love him back, as long as he remains happy and safe even of this means that he himself has to suffer. I just honestly can't imagine how much pain he was in during those 13 years and if WWX didn't come back, he'd still be that lifeless LWJ who's searching for WWX until probably his death 😢😢

At first I started to watch it because of Xiao Zhan. He is a great actor, singer, and super handsome, my idol. The first episode got my attention and I became more interested in the drama. As I started to watch the drama more and more, I fell in love with it. It's the first chinese drama that I watch that has more romance and is full of mystery. This drama is giving me a different point of view about mystery dramas. So greatful to everyone that made this drama and the actors.
Also so grateful that Xiao Zhan is finally the main lead in a drama. His acting is one of the best and I hope that in the future he receives more lead parts. I also hope that Wang Yibo also receives more lead parts he's so great in acting. I hope that his career starts to rise and more people start to notice him.

That's why after that, never did he left WWX's side ever again. He stood beside him until the very end and protected him, which was what he failed to do before and that became his biggest regret.. He's never going to let him go again..
just thinking shout how in the novel they talk about wangji having one of the rabbits in his hands, while speaking to xichen and when xichen says that the shouldn't tell their uncle about who gave the rabbits to him or he would make them be thrown away and wangji holding the rabbit tighter, like he was even more scared of letting them go. shit was cute asf.

@@fathimahaz-zahra5822 which language and what are you referring to. Anime raw, English sub along with other subs first season (15 eps). Second season will be later 2019. Novel English trans. is about 40/128 chaps, other language and raw full. The manhua (graphic novel/comic) English scanslation/raw/other language up to chap 88/89 or so. Basically about 2/3 of the way. I would recommend this as it's close to the novel and nice drawings.

I knew this drama since last year but never considered watching it because of the censorship until I came across this FMV. I watched the series then my view about love has changed a lot. This drama might not explicitly show the physical affection but the way the characters' eyes convey their love for each other was way more meaningful than any skinship. Thank you to whoever decided to put this story into live action and choosing the best actors.

This song really suited their love story. 😢😢😢 In Lan Zhan's persective. He is so sweet... he waited for 13 yrs playing inquiry in hopes to find Wei Ying's soul but since WY died with no grudges, he died peacefully. LZ waited and waited with no assurance at all if WY will come back.
I watched the donghua, read the novel and manhua *which is on going* I can't move on from this beautiful story and now again we have the live adaptation *sighs* anothet heartache but im glad its a happy ending. Well done author.

Can’t believe I actually teared up watching this but it just shows how much I love these two and how well the drama executed everything. Lan wangji said that the forehead ribbon was sacred and could only be touched by significant others yet he tightly tied it around wwx’s wrist without hesitation, he waited for him for 13 years and stood by his side when no one did. I love their relationship and character dynamic

The most desperate and helpless moment for Lan Zhan would be the scene where Wei Ying jumped off the cliff. This novel is a master piece. Truly grateful to the author as well as the translators for sharing such amazing work with us. And off course our Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo for portraying very beautifully the characters and their emotions and expressing their love without putting it into words💜

When I was watching it for the first time, I didn't focus on Lan Zhan's life after Wuxian died but this video made me realise how much he suffered when he didn't have love of his life next to him... when I think about him being so broken and helpless my heart breaks too. I have to mention that I'm really glad, that in the end they stayed together, I couldn't imagine them not being together after all these things that happened. Only death can separate them
