Enjoyed this video , she went straight to the point and didn't babble on and on , brilliant .
I've been making tree skirts for many years. I have used fabric I quilted myself or Christmas Fabric I've bought from Joanns. This is a really easy video to follow. You have done a fabulous job explaining the entire process! I posted it on my Facebook page because it's just that good!
+Melatina77 thank you so much for the kind words :)
I am wanting to make a Thanksgiving tree this year and need a 26" skirt for our mini tree. I haven't sewn anything in a long time and this video is very easy to follow. Will be making my tree skirt now! Thanks.
The ruffle was a great idea. Thank you for this video
Excellent method to determine a half circle. I think I will use the lines as an anchor and then use the pencil and string for the curve, that makes it even easier. Thank you for another great tutorial.
Wonderful, clear, easy to follow! And lovely! Thank you🤗
oh! i've been looking for an easy pattern and YOU NAILED IT!!!!! thank you so much from Las Vegas!
This is the best video I've seen to make the tree skirt.Thank you!
An easier way to make that big semicircle, is to tie a long string to a pencil. Put the tip of the pencil at the end of the line of the left. Firmly hold the string at the exact center, where all three lines meet. You now have a radius. While holding the string firmly at the center, keep it taut, and draw a semicircle all the way around.
Absolutely gorgeous fabric
I just made this skirt and found the instructions easy to follow and was very happy with my final results! It was fun doing this during quarantine!I used a red flannel on one side and a print on the other! I have one Christmas gift made!
This is fantastic! I love that you taught us how to make the pattern rather than just pointing us to a pattern. I wanted to make it out of different fabrics (8 sections with 4 different fabrics) and I couldn't find a pattern than did exactly what I wanted. Thanks so much!
nice! please post a pic on our facebook page. I'd love to see how it turned out :)
This is a very thorough and extremely easy to follow tutorial. I’ve made several tree skirts and every single recipient has been delighted with my creation. Thank you 🤗☺️
Wonderful! :D
This is really a great tutorial - thank you so much!!
I just made this tree skirt today and it was so easy! I'm not a total novice but have never made anything more complicated than pillowcases and unlined curtains. It took me about 3 hours including making the pattern. I can't wait to try more of your tutorials!
yay! I'm so glad it worked out great for you. Please post a pic on our fb wall :)
Thank you so much for the great tutorial! I sewed up my Christmas tree skirt in no time at all and it came out great! Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
As always: another great video! Thanks!
I get it! The process is well explained and it looks easier to do than I imagined. My daughter called today and asked me to make her one for their baby’s first Christmas - and now I know how!!!
nice! :D
Excellent video, I'm going to try making one today.
Every time I see your videos I can't stop looking at you hands and your pretty nails!💅😂 they look perfect!👌 and your sewing videos are great! Thank you for teaching us how to sew cool stuff! My mother was a seamstress but I only know the basics of how to use the sewing machine! but I have troubles to keep a perfect straight line!😖 I get so frustrated because I really enjoy sewing! It's so relaxing and gives you pride when you accomplish a task! Thank you!
I wouldn't stress about your seams not being perfect. It just takes practice and it'll get easier the more you do it. Don't give up! :D
Awesome content very helpful ty for talking to us like we were actual beginners bc sometimes the vets think oh they should at least no this but if we are beginners we do not ty
excellent! you could also use a pin and a set length of string to draw a big circle.
Great clear instructions, you made it so we could see everything I really appreciate that, Thank you. Excellent video 😀
Thank you for the easiest way to make a tree skirt
Well done. Very helpful. Thanks for posting this.
Do you have a list of supplies needed? Where can I purchase the paper with dots on it?
I can't wait to start my tree skirt for this upcoming season! Unless I happened to miss it in the video... can someone advise on how much yardage is needed for a 7.5 foot tree? Thank you! 🎄
wow! que hermoso y bien esplicado, muchas grasias por compartir!!!.....FELIZ NAVIDAD Y QUE DIOS LE BENDIGA SIEMPRE!!!
This is a great video!!!!! Thank you. I wish you were local so I could take sewing lessons from you!! :)
I never understand why people make this more difficult than it has to be. There are much easier and accurate eays to cut out the fabric and batting.
Thanks for your lesson 🎄👍
if you make a tree skirt, please post a pic on our fb wall :)
Since you top stitch the entire skirt, I think you could skip hand sewing it closed.
Excellent! Thank you!
Does the basting spray hold the batting in place permanently? I always thought these sprays were temporary and that some sort of quilting was needed to secure all the layers
Thank you for this tutorial.
I don't understand the 3-4 yds of ribbon if you only need 4 pieces @ 15" each. Wouldn't you just need 60"? Also do you know how much trim you will need if you're going to use trim? Loved your video as it's very detailed and easy to understand. THANKS!!
What kind of machine are you using? I love the visible bobbin compartment.
I use an artificial tree and I was wondering if there is a way to make this without the slit so that I can just put it over my stand and insert the bottom section of my tree. I realize that there needs to be a way to turn it right side out, but could that be done by not sewing the small center hole and then closing that up afterwards?
yup, you sew the seam to get a completed circle and then leave an opening on the outer curve to turn the whole thing right side out.
I'd love to know what nail polish you're wearing in this video! Fantastic tree skirt!
+Xayla V It's a nail wrap from Essie. I found it at the dollar tree so I don't know if that means it's one of their discontinued wraps.
Thank you for your video 🌷
Thank you for the video!
I want to make a larger tree skirt, but fabric is only 45" width. Would I have to sew pieces together or is there another way? Also. What would the measurements be for an xlarge skirt? Any idea?
You can just do it with more seams so make your pattern smaller and cut out more pieces
So, you don’t snip the excess, on the inside, since it’s a curve?
You can if you want. I don't have any problems with mine but maybe because the curve is so large.
Where did you get this awesome Material
thank you! I got it from Mood's www.moodfabrics.com/teal-damask-prints-hp21165.html
Do you have a date for the iOS app?
Thanks 😊
+Mari A not yet, we're still working on it
