- Apologies for only playing one note, the screen recording seems to freeze the cursor in place so I couldn't move it.
You can find winlator on Brunodev's GitHub, some VST plugins run flawlessly, while others (even non CPU intense ones) seem to have severe stuttering. So it's pretty hit or miss. Settings in reaper are "direct sound" for the audio output. In winlator set the audio to "windows native" under DX components, activate the last 7 CPU cores in settings.
The only way I'm aware of getting audio to other devices is via the audio jack (if you can even figure out a way to do this). No idea if it's possible to run audio out via usbc. In either case this is a nice way to make patches on the go.

I've been avoiding the computer desktop workspace lately, been wanting to be outdoors. Do you think this would be a viable option to create outside other than a laptop? Would be running Scaler 2, to avoid paying for mobile apps such as Suggester, etc. Creating simple projects. Thank you for this
Just tested it with Scaler 2. Works! Does take up some resources & takes a little time to boot up. Going to be great for sketching. Using s23 ultra. Glad I left iPhone Apple ecosystem for Android.
@@alexandersprout7992 I personally chose not to use it because it's cluncky (I just sketch on logic for ipad because I have that). But I'm happy you found a use for it :). Fyi, you can use the custom control layout editor to make a keyboard overlay that corresponds to Reapers virtual keyboard which would let you play the keyboard with the touchscreen. Don't forget to add mouse buttons if you do this since it overides the default mouse controls

@@vitalii_rasykhin Hi. I've asked the developer directly if it's possible to connect a midi controller and requested it as a feature but never heard back from him. If you ask BrunoSX on the winlator discord maybe it will catch his attention

@@vitalii_rasykhin as far as I know it's not possible but I haven't tried the latest winlator yet. I saw mentions of midi and exagear but I dont know if they meant internal midi or external midi, might be worth researching. Exagear is a pain to set up though and I'm not sure it's worth the time for something that might not even work

@@SparkySubie field recording maybe 🤷but there are probably better native android tools for that. its still cool to do stuff "just because" though
@@plainoldcheese my next endeavor is to just run Linux on android to getbetter performance and run reaper wit( the Access Virus C DsP. Hopefully it works so i can use it as an external instrument with ipad

Hi, not all VST's work unfortunately. You could try setting Winlator settings for the container to "compatibility" though, it's in the advanced tab of the settings
