Why can't I listen to this on my phone without locking the screen? It's freaking 2018!
Don't know if you're still searching for a solution but if you are on Android there is an unnoficial app called OGRUclips, you can find it on the net (not the appstore) It's exactly like the youtube app except with it you can play video while the screen is locked, you can even put video in background while going on other app (there are other cool features but I don't feel like listing them all)
If OGRUclips doesn't work for you there is at least another unnoficial app that can play youtube video while the screen is locked but i can't recall his name right now
