From amazing sunrises to breathtaking sunsets with the most awesome view, from gorgeous beaches to the picturesque port where it's full of life 24/7, Kalamata is a city for all ages and budgets with amazing food for all tastes. From gyros and Greek souvlaki to fresh fish and healthy salads, the city will leave your taste buds fully satisfied.
The city of Kalamata is also close to other popular places in Peloponnese like Pylos, Gialova, Methoni, Koroni, Finikounda and the world famous beach of Voidokilia, (some are already featured on my channel, the rest are coming soon).
So what are you waiting for, I know that the Greek islands like Santorini and Mykonos steal the show every year but you won't find a more accessible, cheap and beautiful summer travel destination in Greece to have the time of your life. Kalamata has an international airport that makes it easy accessible by plane from major European cities.

This is where my yiayia was from. It isn't actually that touristy, I was there 4 weeks ago and has a tiny bit of tourism but was mostly locals. It is lovely and I'm so glad you went and enjoyed it! It actually has the warmest average temperature during winter than anywhere in Italy or Spain, or Europe, and has a lot going for it. I hopefully would love to buy a house there someday. Great video, well done!
About the house, yeah it's my dream also! One day my friend, who knows! About tourism in mainland Greece I agree, this year it's not very busy mostly because after 2 years of covid, most people chose the islands to spend their summer holidays. And I don't blame them, I mean this is what Greece is mostly famous for in summer. And last but not least Greek yiayias are the best!

@@topplacesingreece forgot to mention that is a must to attend any local festivity (Πανηγύρι) especially at the end of July and all of August and eat local roasted local pork and taste their wines. I got a very funny story with my nephew who at the end he loved all the process.
