This is a no brainer... IBM! If your deal breaker is the network that's like saying I'm lazy after all. One course teaches you PYTHON from the get to... that in itself gets you a job. Tableau can be learned very easily and IBM teaches you how to clean the data with excel which is the industry standard. Another issue with Google that happens with other certs... They teach you to be a Google person first and their way... which is always a bit different from the industry.
Thats a fair conclusion...I agree that the Google one is overall better because of the perks that comes with it although I actually prefer the IBM version since I like python...I feel that people should do both and then do the Meta Database Engineer certificate to get more sql experience. I feel that if someone only has time for one is to do the Google version and go for the Tablue Desktop/Data Analytics certificates. The reverse is true for IBM...if you like the IBM version more then go for the Microsoft Power BI Certification since it uses Excel
@@juanrosa6969 They go hand in hand and depends on what you are going for. Meta's Database Engineering certificate is more about database design and sql while ibm's data engineering is more about giving you exposure to the data engineering process including sql. I would suggest doing the META Database Engineer first since it goes over a lot of sql then do the IBM data engineer and then finally studying for the azure database and azure database certifications. you could also do the one for google too (google cloud data engineer) if you have time
@@Geomaverick124 thank you so much for the information and advise you are offering here. I’m new to data Analysis and I have a bit of knowledge in SQL and trying to learn python now. I was thinking about starting with the IBM Data Analyst and go after database engineering certificate after. I enjoy coding in SQL and everything related to database so that’s what I mentioned the IBM Data engineering. Base on the info you provided, do you think the IBM database is a bit more difficult to start with compare to the META that mainly deals with SQL and a bit of python?
I was leaning towards Google after watching another video comparing these two. But then read some of the comments and also looked at the overviews of both certificates, and the Google one seems too surface-level, so I started the IBM cert. I've learned SQL, Python and Tableau basics already so maybe that influences my opinion. Google may be better for people starting from zero. Personally planning to finish IBM data analysis, then do IBM data science (with overlaps ~50% with the DA cert), then Google advanced data analytics, and probably a Tableau course somewhere along the way
This was very helpful Lukas, thank you for the thorough review. As you probably know, Google came out with Advance Google Analytics Certification. Would you recommend skipping the Professional certificate and go straight to the Advance certificate?
Thankyou @Lukas! Question: I have no experience in data at all. However, I am interested in data science rather than Analytics. Which one do you think might be better for me? The Google Data Analytics Cert. Program or the Google advanced data analytics Cert. program?
If only there is one on python + sql + power bi. I self learned those using free resources and some professional training to understand the concepts and industry standards would be great!
Thank you for this!!! I have a question : I'm mechanical engineer, can I still become a data analyst without computer science degree??? Please, make a video about that.
Forgive me if this has already been asked but would you recommend completing the one that you didn’t recommend after your recommended one? If not, would you go directly into the follow up advanced courses from the same company or branch out?

Good comparison with very little filler talk. You get straight to the point. Thanks.

Hey man, is the meta certificate better than the IBM DATA Engineering certificate?

have you finished?
I commented only 2 weeks ago
@@jcwynn4075 🤣🤣🤣
@jcwynn4075 Have you finished now??
Have you finished?
This video has everything I needed to pick a certificate, thanks a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
Which is?
Amazing overview! Thanks a lot!
I'm a non-US citizen so I think IBM might work for me.
have you looked into the R version of the IBM Cert? Its called IBM Data Analytics with Excel and R Professional Certificate
I need to take a look at that! That sounds very, very interesting actually!

You get straight to the point. Thanks.
IBM ❤
Thank you for this video. I watched many and just now I learned that IBM takes their time to teach you Python. You made my choice easy.
Glad I could help!

I have a question : I'm mechanical engineer, can I still become a data analyst without computer science degree??? Please, make a video about that.
Yes. It's easiest with a relevant degree but you can. I want to move more into the job-aspect, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion
Forgive me if this has already been asked but would you recommend completing the one that you didn’t recommend after your recommended one? If not, would you go directly into the follow up advanced courses from the same company or branch out?
Sorry to be so vague. I didn’t want anyone seeing my comment and knowing which one you recommend without watching the content. 😂
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I am a freshman at college and I will take the Google first in summer.
Glad it was helpful!
IBM data analytics course is good enough ❤
It's a great course too!
How about placements after enrolling will they assist?
I am a non-US citizen. Will Google help me in getting job in my country? Like will the certificate help me in contacting recruiters??
I'm only aware that their "connect with companies" works in the US, could work elsewhere too but I don't know
@@learnwithlukas does someone now?
Which one is easier
Google's certificate is easier but IBM one is more professional. Start IBM and use youtube videos for help
IBM one it is, I think. Excel and Python, man, just more scope for job opportunities. The real question is when will I ever start lol
Thank you for this video. Do you know if the Google job conections are valid for Non-Us citzens ?
The platform was US only back when I completed the certificate, but it could very well be different now.
@@learnwithlukas Thank you very much Lukas.
But its not free
The Google analytics cert is free through the American dream academy
