@@KeepHeartlandStrong PKT has been one of Heartland's main followers and believes like many many fans that Heartland went in a wrong direction in 2 key areas. There was no need to have episodes involving the characters Chase & Amhed. Heartland had the opportunity to make Heartland the best "family" show for all ages instead with the above they opted for a soap opera. Amber has always said she is a role model for young female teens and with her acting in the episodes involving those two characters she totally was no role model I would want for my children. To make it worse Amber as consulting producer had a key say in her scripts and how she wanted to portray herself. I know my twin daughters who are the same age as Amy was along with there friends were very disappointed in Amber taking on a role like she had with Chase & Amhed. Executive producers you may have the longest running one hour Canadian show but certainly not the best family show, all because of the Chase/Amhed episodes. Fans of long term family shows enjoy putting the show into real life perspective. That being said the character Amy along with Lou &Tim (the Fleming's) were simply discusting in their treatment of people. In real life I ask you parents of children, boys or girls would you like them to follow in the footsteps of any of the Fleming's?? As a Alberta resident I get frustrated everytime I hear them say Heartland is about a "average" family farm operation in western Canada. No that is so far from the truth. And finally I am shocked when I hear Amber on her pod casts say she is alot like her character Amy and visa versa in her real life! I sure hope not! Amy is good with horses, terrible with her treatment of people, especially Ty on the show. Heartland lost its storyline with the departure of its best actor by far Graham Wardle. Should have ended at end of season 13 with Amy/Ty/Lyndy moving into there new home, the horses running through there property, Ty running the new youth center, Amy expanding her horse training and Lyndy swinging on the swing Ty built for her. Fans would have been happy with that ending. Now what to we have to look forward to in season 16?? Amy hooking up with another dud like Chase & Amhed, running off on a ridiculous liberty show and leaving Lyndy with her new man and the rest of the family. The storyline for Heartland for me soon(season 1) became all about Ty going from a troubled teen, growing as a person with the help of Jack, finishing school, becoming a vet, then a good husband and finally a great father. Then what do you do to your best actor?? You shoot him off the show!! Totally ridiculous. That coupled with Amy's cheating on Ty throughout the seasons and on her best friend Soraya turned me off Heartland. On the positive for me was the filming in Alberta, excellent scenary and Canadian actors!! Just saying!
