I just stumbled upon this documentary by chance - very interesting! I have always been fascinated by the Taoist symbol - although there are two major parts, the masculine and the feminine, in each of them there is an element of the other, ie. the feminine in the masculine and vice versa. Diversity and humanism were already anchored in ancient Chinese philosophy!
