As a newer player (1.5 years), with a consistent distance of 325-350, it flies for me exactly as you described. Flips up, has a little turn, then a little fade. Will also hold anhyzer line for turnover shots. However, if thrown in a headwind, it can be a little touchy and might not come out of the turn.
I usually drive about 350 or so with the Thrasher and it is my usual go to driver. Only time I don’t like it is throwing into a decent head wind, it gets a little unpredictable in a head wind.
I got an ESP thrasher in a mystery box right after I started playing and it has been one of my favorite discs ever since. It’s low profile feels great in my hand.
The thrasher was my girlfriend's first disc she fell in love with, it was a higher speed driver, but that small hand hold you mentioned made the feel of the disc comfortable. I love these reviews 🙏🏼
Foundation coming in clutch with the great disc reviews! Y’all are the reason that I’ve pulled the trigger on buying discs I was curious about, thanks for taking all of my money 😅😂
You do a good job of discussing the difference in flight based on arm speed but don’t forget about elevation. My distance is about 430 and although the thrasher is too flippy at sea level, it’s perfect at elevation where I live in Salt Lake. Same with the scorch and heat 😊
When I first tried the trasher I lived in Washington basically at sea level it was way too flippy. Now I live at about 3500 feet and it's a perfect straight shot disc for my arm speed atleast.

There’s an old par 3 course near me that was converted to disc golf and every hole would be perfect for this: 450 foot par 3s with tight fairways and OB on both sides. Need to have a disc in your bag that can hyzer flip for max distance and won’t fade OB.
I have a 2012? Big Z thrasher and it was and is stil my favorite disc. Is it super under stable? You better believe it, but I loved the stamp and it’s flight. I also got 2 Janice thrashers.
I'm at about 270ft on an average day, max 320 on a great day. I throw a beat-in Z-Flx Thrasher for straight distance on a hyzerflip or slow panning turnovers on a flat release. My farthest disc for sure. Hope this helps anyone else in this distance range.
This disc is my "catcher in the rye". If I see one, I have to buy it. Esp is definitely my favorite plastic, but the tour series is great feeling in the hand and good in the tail wind. I would say this is great for those players throwing 300+ ft. at least. Not really useful for someone throwing less than that. Avenger SS is the best first driver for those newer players. Thrasher and AvengerSS are very similar in flight, and that's why I bag them both. They offer different degrees of distance and control.
As a newer player that bags this disc, I can confidently say that this disc is straight up money for your average players that throws in that 275- 375 distance range. You can get that flex line performance that advanced players get out of a Destroyer and discs like it. I don't see anything kicking it out of my bag.
Thanks for talking about what it would be like for different arm speeds and for the forehand tip and understable drivers. What would you recommend for a hyzer flip for someone with more like 250-300 ft of power?
At 250-300 ft of power I wouldn’t try hyzer flipping scorches, but esp heat should work well. (Assuming max weight discs at sea level, otherwise a lot of lightweights you could) also an ESP thrasher, especially if it’s a little seasoned will still flip at 250-300 power, but a crystal thrasher won’t (I use to back both to have a straight and hyzer flip disc and was about 275 consistently at the time)
As you know I’m sure Background is everything w these videos. sometimes it’s really hard to see the disc. The videos you guys have with trees in the background always show the disc better . Not complaining at all just a fan that enjoys seeing the throws.
My jam is two ESP prototype Hades here's the problem I have tried other prototype Hades and they're too flippy. For whatever reason both of mine have a noticeably higher PLH than other prototype Hades, I just really wish they were all more stable like mine are 🤷. I'm thinking maybe if I try a Hades in a different plastic it might be similar to mine 🤷. I guess I will have to see if it's offered in in Elite Z plastic, because that might be the stability I'm looking for👍.
The only Esp thrasher I've tested flew like a slightly more understable Hades, but the handfeel was different. I imagine you can find more stable thrashers that are basically identical in flight, but gives you a different feel if you don't like the Hades!

It's my go to. Definitely more like a 10-11 speed. It's super strait at low speeds and awesome flip to turn over disc at full rips

Sexton at Utah worlds was throwing sidewinders for straight forehands instead of beat in firebirds 😮

A legendary disc for me! Got my first ace with it, 80m hole, (265ft), nothing special but first one nonetheless..
ay even a short ace is still an ace!
@@DIAMONDBACK__6 well it could've been shorter, right 😅
yes well done
Great disc for 360' of driving distance, or easy hyzer flips and dead straight shots.

Great disc I was throwing that when they first came out

if you like turnover discs give the axiom insanity a try. really good distance for a o speed

Loved my Thrasher until I tried a Fission Wave. I felt the Thrasher required a lot more open spaces to really get the flight out of if.
Same, I switched to the wave as well, a lot more controlled
I rock fission wave as well. This looks flippier but makes sense at -3
late comment but me too, wave all day 😎
My first disc!!!

Check out Drew's Era. 10/5/1/1.5 I've been playing for a long time and it bombs.
I'd say try the Scorch or Heat if you haven't! They are both slightly slower, but will give you good distance and flip.

axiom insanity, any plastic except glow, it'll be money :)
What elevation was this filmed/thrown. Often an overlooked element for disc reviews.
Good review

Where does this slot with the Hades?
Love it. Can get easy distance

Domey hadeses have been more stable for me. The BIG Z ones are more stable aswell!
@@MegaLaban12345 Thanks I will give them a try 👍.
The Thrasher flies similar to a brown thrasher

I love my esp thrasher
Oh Yea BABY
Thrashers a too flippy for me to have any practical use. I go with the h3v2 for a similar understable flight.
esp thrasher 4 life
why not edit out throwing it into the ground
Lmao
0% chance this Trevor guy throws "a little over 500" Hilarious!
I'm a beginner I throw about 350 can't get it to flip tried all day
