So right you are about continuing with the FUN NOT SO FUN cut off approach. First thing I have a few pointers for folks who may not have a partner or would prefer not to tax a partner like myself. I often find doing it my self is a lot less stressful. First off get some decent clamps even the larger old fashion clothesline pins would probably be useful in pinching or marking where you want to cut. Next tie the string off on a metal washer it'll not slip through the above holes and you can still cut it pretty closet where you need it. IF it slips through like the demonstration happened will my I suggest to all of you who may have upholstery tools or large sewing needles the likes of upholsters use for sewing or attaching on shank buttons. I pack of Clover in multi sizes approx. 6-11" or something like that would be very helpful to restring the cord through the holes. But sure you can make a needle with a wire as demonstrated too. I was searching today for just this kind of how to shares. This is my first. I'm searching however how to do this with the up/down blinds. Very similar blinds but they can be pulled down from top or bottom up and or just pull down a bit from top and up from bottom. Why would you want ones like that. Will for us we lived happily in a relatively rural small acreage home...then first one then a second it's now up to 6 places have installed huge casts of light pollution onto our abode. To block the annoyance at night at the computer and in bed especially we have some huge picture type windows that were already installed in the house so we added multiple blinds so we can block just the annoying bits that hit our eyes. And still enjoy the window open or screens in summer open yet not get blinded by the unthoughtful neighbors. You say how can it be a rural home..will two offenders are across the highway we happen to be across from. One is a marine shop that's installed huge amounts of crappy advertisement lights and the other is a church who gets it jollies being lit up like a christmas tree year round except they don't practice Xmas being Witness twists. I say that only because how annoying can neighbors who call themselves Christians or are suppose to be friendly towards others. Our bedroom faces that direction and despite our many 75 foot trees their lights are so strong they filter right on through. We've tried turning our bed to no longer face the window and still the lights annoying. So the back side of the property faces a house that leaves a super bright porch light on day and night because he's a trucker that is gone a lot and perhaps they feel safer with a light on 24/7. Though it didn't stop thieves from taking their bikes two nights in a row. Then another neighbor next to them has a shop area across from the other end of our house and my computer room and they have some kind of high power motion sensor light that hits you smack in the face. On the other side of the house we have two neighbors who are in competition with how many yard lights they can out do the other one with. Twenty years ago when we moved here NONE of these neighbors had lights or behaved so poorly. Yes we thought better of playing it back with spot lights of our own. PEACE everyone. But wish there was a way to get through to the...we've asked politely with the four home owners but it's like they don't really get it or their attitudes is close the curtains. So here we are installing down/up blinds. Very similar to these but they can be pulled either direction. We've had one in a downstairs bath room for 20 years that's worked fantastic but it was custom ordered. We have so many windows in need of so many multiple blinds we found better prices by going with all 72 inches long than custom cut. Here we are. Watching this how to video's. I love these by the way. So grateful people share and gotta love these people who show the nitty and the gritty parts too. It's great feedback to know in advance how to avoid similar experiences or outcomes. Thank you for this VIDEO...I found it entertaining and helpful both.

That explains why most just leave them, kind of a hassle. Good to know it can be done though, it does look better!
I love it when a plan comes together!
The footage dustbin continues to provide.
You made it work. 👍 😊
All of a sudden I love 2 inches of scrunched up blinds sitting on the window sill.......😂🤣😂
