Yes, he was and I'm so happy he survived until after episode 6, thanks to what Forces of Destiny showed us. It's always nice to see characters that lived through the Clone Wars got to survive to see the end of the Empire and peace return to the galaxy until the Ssequil Triolgy ruined all that.
@@acairconditioning5666 You'd have to remove their accelerated aging, and even then, the chances of a clone surviving that long are slim. I'm going to type out my reasoning, and it will be in-depth and long-winded, so I'll put a Tl;dr at the end. The Kamino uprising took place in 12 BBY. Let's use a hypothetical clone, who was physically 16 years old at the time ( I picked 16 because it's old enough to be able to more or less survive on his own, but younger than that and he probably wouldn't make it), who had not been part of the rogue clones. He would have been born in 20 BBY. A year after his birth, the events of Rots would occur, at which time he'd be physically 2 years old. The time span between Rots and Anh is 19 years, so he would be physically 40 years old. A year each between Episodes 4 and 5 & 5 and 6, so physically 44 in Episode 6. And there's a 30-year time span between Rotj and Tfa. That's 60 years for a clone. Tl;dr: The last clones grown before the Kamino uprising that were old enough to more or less survive on their own would be physically 104 years old at the time of the force awakens. It's possible, and medical technology in the Star Wars universe is undoubtedly far more advanced than on Earth, but I doubt a clone being forced to strike out on his own would have abundant access to said technology. He might make it that far if he became a bounty hunter; given his advanced combat training, he'd probably be pretty good, and cash wouldn't be a problem. But being a bounty hunter is inherently dangerous, and most people think of clones as sub-human or flesh-droids. Okay, rant over.
I love it when he finds out that his men betrayed him for Maul because he has more profits. His so proud comment is amazing insight into his charcacter.
I love Hondo I quote him a lot and his relationship with Jedi like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Ezra is one my favorite parts of Clones Wars and Rebels. I lost it when I found out Jim Cummings voiced him.
The people that put bounties on him tend to end up dead. Not even by Hondo, it's almost as if there is a third side of the force protecting this agent of chaos.
“If I were not me, I would envy you getting to meet me”:Jim Cummings. “Well well, look at the time”. I saw the Star Wars when I was 8 in a drive in theatre. My collection is so vast home owner insurance no longer covers it. Hondo is my favorite character is the Star Wars galaxy.
I think the Sith raids that you mentioned are correct. Hondo knew who the sith were in a galaxy that largely didn’t know or care for them. Strange for a pirate to possess that kind of knowledge randomly. And the fact he also knew Dooku was a sith didn’t seem like common knowledge.
This is the tale of Hando Ohnaka! A pirate so brave in the Florum system On mundane quest for millions of credits Seclusion braid sway in the spaceship's breeze!
I had to research him recently to make a DnD statblock for him. This man fought nearly evenly in a duel with Anakin, shot Maul’s leg off, and pickpocketed Dooku’s lightsaber in broad daylight. The man is incredible.
I absolutely love Hondo he is one of the best characters ever he is smart as well you don't get a pirate gang that big by being stupid he knew when a fight was not worth it and when to retreat he treated his guys well even after they tried to kill him he brung them back in like a brother and he even worked for the jedi and republic and seps so he proved more useful alive than dead so up and to the point where he kidnapped doukoo they left him alone pretty much.
Good episode. Hendo was definatly my favorite character that was not allied with one side or the other. When I was a kid I had a Wekwey action figure that I always played as if he were a pirate very similar to Hondo long before he was a Star Wars character. My little Hutt gang of Jabba and other aliens were my favorite to pity against Luke, Han, Leia and a host of guest characters from GI Joe and Indiana Jones figures. This video and the Clone Wars episodes with Hondo brought back a lot of childhood memories set in my front yard and the forest close to my house.
I'm writing a fanfiction where my OC was sold to Hondo and lives on the Acushnet doing work for the Ohnaka gang. He's like that grumpy uncle who plays dirty tricks, but is secretly good at heart.
@@CT--my4lf i figured that, but i want to know the full story. What reason did the empire use to justify killing all of them, Who carried out the attack, How the battle went down, thats the interesting stuff.
Everyone keeps calling Hondo the Jack Sparrow of Star Wars, but I think we all know better. A pompous, self-serving pirate captain of a flying ship voiced by Jim Cummings with a vague French/Spanish accent? He's a competent Don Karnage!
Why is Hondo yet so frustrating and hilarious at the same time. Like its love hate relationship with that guy. He is shady and does dirty scummy things that from abducting people for ransom yet at the same time aids a rebellion against the confederacy forcing Count Dooku to ass the situation and basically say fuck it we have lost to many forces to continue on with this attrition on Onderon were pulling out. Then General Kalani is like okay then basically, While the evil dictator that basically sat on his ass eating fruit most of the time is like WTH really your just gonna abandon me like that. Kalani is like well we only just emboldened the rebels its pointless to stay any longer we all ready expended to many forces over little proxy war and well if dooku says we battle has become a steaming pile turds with nothing gain from other then testing out some new gunships there is no point to staying. Besides we have a bigger war to fight and win with the republic. I know those weren't Kalani's exact words but that's basically the point he was making. So the fact the hondo indirectly forced the CIS to pull out of Ondoren faster than NATO forces in the middle east is impressive well at least large scale forces i know smaller forces are involved to extent still. And the fact Obi Wan and Anakin just get forgiving him is a sign that Hondo might not be such a bad guy not saying hes a saint either. But is no general Grevious either the mad cyborg who ruthless seeks retribution for the CIS when ever he could. Even Obi wan warned him Count Dooku isn't the forgiving type and he will come after. Just didn't expect he gonna call Grevious on speed holonet to go pay hondo a visit. Which I assume grevious was looking forward to leading another assault against his and his masters enemies.
I love Hondo in the Clone Wars. He was the character you hated to love, but he was such a like-able character. I hate how Rebels made him just a goofy old dude.
I think he is the most badass of all star wars characters, my reason, he insulted not one but two sith lords (3 if you count Savage) and lived to tell the tale, all without force abilities. Yeah sure Obi-wan and Anakin can claim good fame but when you are a pirate who has no abilties beyond good shooting skills, a neat ship, and a questionably loyal crew I feel the fact he survived the clone wars AND civil war is testement to his abilities. Heres hoping he shows up in more side universe stuff, we need him as good comic relief
Don't forget: Hondo was absolutely addicted to spice. I think this influenced several of his notable "bad guy" moments, like attacking the Younglings. He appears to be going through withdrawals, and then comes back to his base and gets way too high (and probably drunk too). Once sober, but not in withdrawals yet, he helps out the younglings.
Hondo naming one of his ships ‘Fortune and Glory’ seems like a pretty cool reference to Indy’s line in Temple of Doom. And it seems like the kinda thing a mega-fan like Filoni would slip in.
I kinda wonder what would have happened had he become a privateet for either side. I mean imagine the equipment he already had, increased by a steady payroll, with Republic or Separatist hired privateers and military personnel, as well as a larger fleet of warships. He would have been terrifying. Considering he put a highly skilled Padawan (Ahsoka) to the test on his own with what, five guys? Him with a strike force of fifty or more would have been terrifying for either side.
Sir this is Hondo in a phrase, he knows when to hold'em he knows when to fold them and he knows when to walk away from the table he's "Smart & Slick". He's like a Ferengi from Star Trek if you know who they are. IMO 😎
The rest of the internet: You will pay for your insolence! Star Wars nerds spreading memes: INSOLENCE! We’re pirates, we don’t even know what that means!
Seems legitimate, get information and unique Knick nacks to sell on the black market and prof of Palpy being Sidious. (The Empire would be bad for business and he is friends with Kenobi).
Hondo in the clone wars was the cool space pirate who had the joker brand of crazy to mock a Sith Lord to his face. He went from a charismatic true neutral villain in the clone wars to that crazy uncle who does meth. And I don’t know if it’s the empire or Disney who did him dirty. Or both
The best part about pirate and hutt episodes is the reaction of Sidious like " oh my god you idiots how could you be so stupid stop jeprodizing my plans" especially in the earlier seasons where they are constantly under threat of death and his plans arent yet fully set. Nice break from the usual spe vs reb too.

But being a bounty hunter is inherently dangerous, and most people think of clones as sub-human or flesh-droids. Okay, rant over.
Insolence! We are pirates! We don’t even know what that means!
Open fire!
"The stories I could tell. So many of them true!"
But he'll never tell you which ones are lies and which ones are true.
I love it when he finds out that his men betrayed him for Maul because he has more profits. His so proud comment is amazing insight into his charcacter.
Hondo Ohnaka is an absolute Savage when it comes to Either beating or insulting people.
I love Hondo I quote him a lot and his relationship with Jedi like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Ezra is one my favorite parts of Clones Wars and Rebels. I lost it when I found out Jim Cummings voiced him.
the forgotten genius of hondo ohnaka is the fact that hes still alive and not in jail. the bounty on this dude must be insain
“This situation.. is no longer.. profitable!”
I like to refer to Hondo as "The Most Interesting Man In The Galaxy". I'm still shocked that it hasn't caught on, 'cause, come on, he just is. :)
Hondo Ohnaka: Jack Sparrow of Star Wars. 🚀🏴☠️🚀
This is the tale of Hando Ohnaka!
A pirate so brave in the Florum system
On mundane quest for millions of credits
Seclusion braid sway in the spaceship's breeze!
Hondo became a great character. Had one of the best developments in show
Hail Gonk!
I KNEW THE DUTCH WERE ALIENS.
I get the feeling I will find the reason behind this comment funny, so could you please explain?
More somalian than dutch
@@jamesdavis9036 they all have Dutch accents.
@@jamesdavis9036 The Dutch where masters of the Spice Trade back in the day
Ol’ Venerable East India Company
I had to research him recently to make a DnD statblock for him. This man fought nearly evenly in a duel with Anakin, shot Maul’s leg off, and pickpocketed Dooku’s lightsaber in broad daylight. The man is incredible.
Honestly, this guy is one of my favorite characters.
Anarcho capitalist: “furthest extreme of that corner of the political compass” Hondo: hold my unpaid labour
That scene at the beginning of the video is my favorite featuring Hondo. Truly represents him as the Captain Jack Sparrow of the Star Wars Universe.
The tow of them would somehow steal a starsystem
I absolutely love Hondo he is one of the best characters ever he is smart as well you don't get a pirate gang that big by being stupid he knew when a fight was not worth it and when to retreat he treated his guys well even after they tried to kill him he brung them back in like a brother and he even worked for the jedi and republic and seps so he proved more useful alive than dead so up and to the point where he kidnapped doukoo they left him alone pretty much.
Me after using these magic 8 balls: "I find that answer vague and unconvincing."
GEETS
Replace the lightsaber sound with "Attention, Sargent on deck!!"
Best part about Hondo: literally has a UFO
“Rob from the rich and steal from the poor”
Good episode. Hendo was definatly my favorite character that was not allied with one side or the other. When I was a kid I had a Wekwey action figure that I always played as if he were a pirate very similar to Hondo long before he was a Star Wars character. My little Hutt gang of Jabba and other aliens were my favorite to pity against Luke, Han, Leia and a host of guest characters from GI Joe and Indiana Jones figures. This video and the Clone Wars episodes with Hondo brought back a lot of childhood memories set in my front yard and the forest close to my house.
I see it now he's going to be in the Mandalorian
I'm writing a fanfiction where my OC was sold to Hondo and lives on the Acushnet doing work for the Ohnaka gang. He's like that grumpy uncle who plays dirty tricks, but is secretly good at heart.
Hondo managed to fight Jedis 1on1 with the magma guard energy staff :D Now that IS impressive!
I he deserves his own Star Wars movie
What happened to Hondo after the Clone Wars? When we see him again in Rebels he doesnt have a crew or a ship any more.
@Ryan Orth damn.... that would an interesting story to hear
Somehow he’s still kicking by galaxy edge
After the Clone Wars, the Empire went and killed his crew and sent him running.
@@CT--my4lf i figured that, but i want to know the full story. What reason did the empire use to justify killing all of them, Who carried out the attack, How the battle went down, thats the interesting stuff.
Death's Hands well the empire did crack down on piracy so it makes sense why they’d be relentless towards them.
Love his character, thanks to Jim Cumming's acting, and his storylines.
Forgotten? Hardly! He is one of my favorites!
“The Fortune and Glory” I see what they did there Dr. Jones would be proud
Hondo is one of my all time fave characters in all of Star Wars
Everyone keeps calling Hondo the Jack Sparrow of Star Wars, but I think we all know better.
A pompous, self-serving pirate captain of a flying ship voiced by Jim Cummings with a vague French/Spanish accent? He's a competent Don Karnage!
That's gotta be the best pirate I've ever seen.
“Forgotten “?
Dude, Hondo will NEVER be forgotten by true Star Wars Fans.
"Corona class armed frigate"
FINALLY a video about my favorite character in Star Wars. I never knew whether to like him or hate him
I love Hondo in the Clone Wars. He was the character you hated to love, but he was such a like-able character. I hate how Rebels made him just a goofy old dude.
Hondo always reminded me of Don Carnage from Tailspin. Two of my favorite pirates in animation.
"This effort is no longer.... Profitable"- Hondo Ohnaka
Yo the blaster Hondo uses not only matches him but looks slick as hell. Definently worth of being a Captain's sidearm for people such as him.
Hondo is a colorful character that brings a bit of tongue in cheek to Star Wars. Love it!
By far one of my favorite side characters. He's basically the Jack Sparrow of Star Wars but with much more cunning than Johnny Depp weirdness.
Hondo deserves his own show
Hondo naming one of his ships ‘Fortune and Glory’ seems like a pretty cool reference to Indy’s line in Temple of Doom. And it seems like the kinda thing a mega-fan like Filoni would slip in.
According to one of my early KOTOR saves Hondo Ohnaka was also Darth Revan. Few know this
I absolutely love Hondo, you always wish he would just stay on the good side.
Hando the literal definition of chaotic neutral
Sir this is Hondo in a phrase, he knows when to hold'em he knows when to fold them and he knows when to walk away from the table he's "Smart & Slick". He's like a Ferengi from Star Trek if you know who they are. IMO 😎
Hondo is definitely one of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars.
Hondo looks like a rapper. Like one of the migos
Just because you are bad guy does not mean you are bad guy.
The rest of the internet: You will pay for your insolence!
Star Wars nerds spreading memes: INSOLENCE! We’re pirates, we don’t even know what that means!
Hondo was also pretty good with a electrostaff

Flame the reploid Those traitors are no longer my men! I’m so proud!! - Hondo Onaka
Anyone notice how there ship was a Corona class, coincidence I THINK NOT.
Lmao I was thinking that
No winder corona virus is hard to treat: its alien in nature. Hondo and his pirates were infecting us when they’re making pitstop on Earth.
Or both
Easily one of the best characters in all of Star Wars. Hondo Onaka is amazing.
I love hondo especially in rebels and the clone wars
The best part about pirate and hutt episodes is the reaction of Sidious like " oh my god you idiots how could you be so stupid stop jeprodizing my plans" especially in the earlier seasons where they are constantly under threat of death and his plans arent yet fully set. Nice break from the usual spe vs reb too.
He *DESERVES* his own movie
Hondo is best boi, literally absolutely insane but so lovable at the same time
