i was born 4 days before this show. never heard of these guys but i’m fucking blown away, i’m also pissed i wasn’t born early enough to have seen all the cool, weird punk bands that existed around this time. wish more guys my age were willing to get down like this
We’re still out there man. Was born in 2004 and I’m feeling the same way. Just gotta keep pushing. Be the change you wanna see. I’m from Richmond, same place as this band. Sadly the scene that they were so huge in has died out quite a bit, but im determined to bring it back! You can too :)
this was about a year before i started discovering real types of music. i was 12 and in the area. if only i knew what was going on right in my own stomping grounds. i need a time machine. also, those rickenbackers are amazing
This band Wolves from Amherst MA that I absolutely love played a show in this shitty cafe in my hometown when I was probably sitting in my room listening to fucking korn. Never got to see them before they broke up.
it was announced two weeks ago or so. most of the shows sold out day of sale. the dc one got moved from the small room at the blackcat to the large room and ended up selling out also.
I can't help but think "please please PLEEEEASE record this song in the studio"! It's SO incredibly, hauntingly good! I can't believe they've reunited!!
there is an interview with i believe their drummer in the last 4ish years I believe, he says they were very into GYBE. You can hear it 1000 percent on Mystic Sisters, there is a straight up GYBE worship song.
I mean there are still plenty of legit screamo bands around today, e.g. all the bands on Topshelf records and other stuff, but even most of that isn't nearly as good as stuff from the 90s and early 00s.

there’s still a scene and demand for this music despite it being way more niche. you just have to dig really far to find it.
Olth
same wish i could find ppl my age who wanna make music like this

Do you know what type of Rickenbacker they are? I just know they're 3 something.
+TheTurtleneck64 The natural finish one looks like a 360 Mapleglow model to me. and then the black one might just be called a 330 model.

I seriously cannot fucking wait!
Justin Valliere Just got my tix for the Jan 12th show at Strange Matter. A day that will live in infamy. So psyched!
Where'd you hear about that?

They are doing a small tour with the saddest landscape on the east coast sometime soon
That guitar around 9:20 is the coolest shit and then the drums and bass kick in and it just transcends our standards of awesomeness.
3:23 the toss of the cigarette into the drums and bass kicking gives me chills oh my god
I can't help but think "please please PLEEEEASE record this song in the studio"! It's SO incredibly, hauntingly good! I can't believe they've reunited!!
i hope so too:)
COC and Malady(pg99,CoC) my Best all the time:)
Ayla Markkula they did! it's called driving spain up a wall
Ayla Markkula they did, quite recently. I flipped out.
lol and then they fucking went away again.
fun fact i moved to Rochester, NY less than a month AFTER they played there on their reunion tour.
This song is on a split or something. I have it on a hard drive or old MP3 player.
Bless you for filming this, sucha a perfect shot.
if only i was born when this was happening
Ah, back when you could smoke at the Ottobar!
I wonder if they were listening to Godspeed at the time. Sounds very similar to them, especially Yanqui era
they prob were, but Yanqui was released like 6 months after COP released s/t

i was fuckin 10 when this came out. i know people say life can deal you a bad hand sometimes but what the fuck man
The year was 2003 when bands didn't make repetitive metal / death core. Bands actually had good ideas and good music.
I mean there are still plenty of legit screamo bands around today, e.g. all the bands on Topshelf records and other stuff, but even most of that isn't nearly as good as stuff from the 90s and early 00s.
Bleach Drinker I think it's great what Topshelf is doing, but most of the bands there don't come as very memorable. Like they're just emulating.
Adhesive Boi some modern screamo bands... swan of tuonela, kilgore trout, gas up yr hearse!, coma regalia, page of concrete.
Louis H Garfield I'll add them to my increasing backlog of "bands of I need to check out"
Adhesive Boi Swam of Tuonela is very screamo/post-rock mix so if you're going to check out any I would start with that one.
thank you for this footage
The rickenbacker 💪🤠👍
So freaking good.
Amazing band!!
This is awesome.
I was at this show was w/ pg99 n pig destroyer.. pretty sure anyway
Simply amazing!
The day after I was born
It was an all ages show, if your parents loved you they'd have taken you.
They really got into it

Favorite parts
3:25
4:38
6:04

This is Driving Spain Up A Wall
Даа, раньше трава была зеленее... и убойнее))
ok so what was the first screamo band ever?? i really wanna know and cant find out
the first emotive hardcore punk band, arguably, was rites of spring
About 20 years after the birth of screamo. Not even close.
Doug Lobacki lol sure... screamo bands existed in the 60's.
20 years would be the 80s.
rites of spring are from the 80's...
Which song is this?
"Driving Spain Up a Wall"
thx!
