Now that's a tutorial. You set the standard for anyone wanting to share clear and concise instruction for both audio and visual communication. It instills confidence and desire. You are a teacher!
This is the best and easiest video by far to understand on how to make and assemble these car seat ponchos. You did a wonderful job explaining this where it actually makes people feel like they can do it, unlike some other videos on making these. Thank you so much for sharing your "expertise" on this. 😊❤️ Now, off to the machine to make one for my 15 month old granddaughter for Christmas. 😊🎄☃❄️❤️
This tutorial is great! It has been years since I have sewn anything but I made one of these for my granddaughter today. It came out almost perfect (the pattern I made for the hood was a little smaller than I wanted, but it still fits her). Thank you very much!
I am so excited that I found your video. I have been looking at these ponchos and have watched a ton of videos and read directions but for some reason it just didn't click. Once I found your video I was able to make one with no problem. It is actually my first sewing project, I took the machine out of the box today. Now I am brainstorming other colors so my daughter can have multiple ponchos.
Yay! I'm so glad you found my video and that it was easy to understand! Sewing is so much fun and it is the best feeling to make something (even if it doesn't turn out perfect) because you made it! I hope you subscribed to my channel because I post a new video every Wednesday :)
Whitney, I love you! My friend just asked me if I could make a car seat poncho for her 17 month old. I CAN!! Because you have this super easy video. Thank you! I love to sew but I am SO still learning! If I make a video of Marcello's poncho, I will give you credit. I love your videos! You make it easy for me to follow along.
Love this tutorial, but I get a little lost on sewing over the hood in the end. I sewed over the hood and couldn't reverse it when I turned it inside out. I had to pull the stitches.
I watched this video a week or so ago, and I loved it. I decided to make one for my granddaughter, so yesterday I went to purchase the fabric. Today I cannot watch the video. at about the 4:26 mark I get your outro thumbnail for the remainder of the video. I can hear you, but the video is not playing. I tried it on 3 other devices, but no luck. Wondering if this is a problem on your end, or my end. Thanks for any assistance you can offer!
For some reason this video seems to have a glitch and gets stuck if it's rewatched. I finally tracked down my old hard drive and just reuploaded the video. Hope that helps ruclips.net/video/PSelaXuV09A/видео.html
Lovely tutorial, but just an fyi for next time if you make a couple of slits into the front either side of the opening, then when walking around your little one won't have a draft blowing inside the poncho every time she needs to say hold your hand.
I wanted to like the video but halfway through video a huge banner advertising the music and your channel covered the screen. I could still hear your instructions but couldn't see you demonstrating what to do. I hope you can fix this.
The video used to be fine, but somehow RUclips developed a glitch in it. I have reuploaded another version of the video. Link is in the description box.
Love your videos and tutorials but the background music is so distracting, you do not need it, you are such a good instructor but I had rather hear your voice than the music.

I am very new to snaps....what size snap did you use? Did you use any fabric reinforcement?

+Laurie Snyder Thank you! I'm so glad that you like the video and found it easy to follow!

As a retired FCS teacher I can tell you it was very understandable! Great job. I will make them a bit longer to cover the legs more .
I love how she holds her little hands up as she walks! So precious! Great pattern!
Hehe it was her first time wearing if and she wasn't sure about it not having actual sleeves.
They are absolutely beautiful! Love the poncho idea 😊
Thank you :)
Thank you for this tutorial! Very clear and not so long that it is hard to follow. Amazing job and Im excited to try this!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Well explained and clear instructions, the link to the dimensions is very much appreciated. Subscribed!

Great video. I see no trouble watching it right now. I'm off to make my poncho now.
Amazing tutorial! My poncho came out awesome! My niece loves it (as does my brother)!
That's so wonderful! I would love to see a pic of it if you have one :)
Your kids are adorable! That poncho is so handy - I had never heard of it before!
Thank you! I started seeing car seat ponchos last year so once Peyton outgrew her infant car seat I knew I had to make her one :)
Loved this! Thanks for sharing
OMGoodness, the babies are getting so big!!!
Yes they are! Skyler is 9 months old today :)
Brilliant video and super cute babies 💕
Thank you :)
This is great Whitney! Thanks! xo
Glad you like it :)
Omg well done video.
Your children are adorable! I've got some fleece in my stash this would work great for my granddaughter.
Thanks! Let me know how yours turns out :)
lovely tutorial
Love it ❤️
OMGoodness,Peyton is getting so big!
looks so easy to make!
Thanks :)
Thank you!!!

+Cat Lover Awesome! Can't wait to hear how it turns out!
My babies are so darn cute!
Jeremiah Edwards LOL...this is true.
Yes they are...like their mommy ;)
Love this tutorial, but I get a little lost on sewing over the hood in the end. I sewed over the hood and couldn't reverse it when I turned it inside out. I had to pull the stitches.
How can I do this for my adult size extra large. I feel so cold on the chest, chin, everywhere.
I’m slightly confused on the final step with the hood in the middle of the layers. Do you have it laying flat and sew the front part of it again?
Love this pattern and video. What needle and machine settings would you recommend.
Size 14 or 16 needle and I just left it on the same settings as usual.

Thank you cos I have same issue watching at 4:26
How did you measure the inner circle?
Love this! Does a person have to have the poncho open? my daughter for her infant prefers not to have it open front
If you don't have the front all the way open you will still need a partial opening (think a polo shirt) to get the poncho over their head.
How do I measure how big to cut the neck hole?
I don't have a hood to trace, any way you could send a pdf
Oh my gosh, she's gotten so BIG and grown-up!
I know right!! I can't believe how quickly she has grown :)
Hey Whitney, I would love to make this awesome Pancho but I can't find the measurements on your website. Please help me!?
In the video description click Show More. Then click the first link listed. That is where the measurements are.
How do I download the written pattern for the car seat poncho? The video was very helpful but the written directions are better for me
There aren't any available.
Could this be made with one side to keep the child warm and the other side a rainersisdence.
Amy Price I haven't tried that personally, but it should work out perfectly.
Lovely tutorial, but just an fyi for next time if you make a couple of slits into the front either side of the opening, then when walking around your little one won't have a draft blowing inside the poncho every time she needs to say hold your hand.
Great tip!

Have u ever made a video for like a pageant poncho dress/makeup cape...
No, I haven't. Would be the same basic project as this. Just leave off the hood and use different fabrics.
@@Whitney_Sews so basically use this with like a cotton, or satin?
@@Whitney_Sews also do u have an Adult poncho pattern :)
It's the same, just use adult size measurements. I would use a kind of slick fabric for the outer side so it can be wiped clean
I’m watching the poncho tutorial, I cannot find the pattern or the information who’ve mentioned.
Click the first link in the description box for the info.
@Shenecee Mason
How is this reversible if you put snaps on one side?
Because the back end of each snap is the same so it will just cross right over left on one side and left over right when flipped.
Is this poncho reversible?
Yes

What kind of fabric/. Flannel? Fleece?
+Anita Green I used fleece, but you can use minky or whatever warm fabrics you like.
What are the measurements for the hood?
I just traced a hood we already had in one size larger than the child wears.
what kind of clips are you using
There is a link to the craft clips in the description box :)
very nice n easy. ..can you measures send with ur size plzzzz
The measurements I used are all listed out my website. The link is in the description box below the video :)
Mam I searching more than tym ..bt I cnt find out ...I humbly requested u...plz send me d that link
I am interested in the hood section - I've done the poncho portion but need the pattern for the hood. Is there a pattern for this?
I’d actually like to see how this turned out… something happened to the vide and only a chevron screen and wording show on the screen
This video started glitchjng a while back. There is a re-upload of it here ruclips.net/video/PSelaXuV09A/видео.html
🌸◠‿◠)/ 💗 This is too precious! Your little girl is getting so big! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it :)
For some reason you disappeared about halfway through. I can still hear you, but there’s an advertisement on the screen
RUclips put a glitch in my video about a year after it was posted. There is a link in the description box to a reupload version
Excellent half vedio not working.
The video glitched after being up a few years. Link to the repost is in the video description box
Video is cut!
The video started messing up about a year after it was posted. The reupload is linked in the video description box.

I'm glad you like my videos. I have been trying to be more mindful about the music volume over the last few months .
