I thought it was interesting how Savior Michonne was explaining the Satellite Station attack, and how messed up it was for Rick's group to do that. I know Negan mentioned it, but it reminded me of Aaron's conversation with Michonne earlier about how they might be considered the bad guys. Also loved the nod to the orange backpack. The Virgil shit was just dumb, they needed a reason to get Michonne to Rick's belongings, I get it, but it was still lame. After what happened with Jocelyn and the psycho kids, she should know better than to just follow some stranger-even if it is to get weapons.
You probably don't read classic literature or understand it. In the story Dante's Inferno, the main character Dante, is guided by Virgil through "Hell" to experience his own demons. In the episode, after Michonne experienced the alternate timeline via the gypsum weed tea, Virgil asked her what she saw. She replied, "Hell", having experienced her own demons.

I know this is an old comment, but still worth responding to: It's a funny bit of writing because *it's the show still getting its own basic history wrong, years later*. This happened a ton during the Gimple years but IIRC this moment was the first instance it happened during the Kang years, and I literally screamed at my TV when I heard it. For the 100000th time: No, Rick and the Alexandrians did not start the war with the Saviors by attacking their outpost. The first incident between the two communities was presumably at the beginning of S6E6, where we're to assume Saviors attacked Daryl/Abe/Sasha 20 miles out from Alexandria (when the latter was leading the horde away) because they mistook them for the escaping Dwight/Sherry. We then have an entire separate, demonstrable conflict when a Savior convoy literally haults Daryl/Abe/Sasha on the road in the stinger to S6E8 and demands that the latter bring the former back to where they live -- and we know exactly what would have happened had Daryl not blew them up. When the community gathers in the church to debate what to do about the Saviors, Rick is exactly correct: it was always just a matter of time before the Saviors came into contact (and conflict) with the Alexandrians given their close proximity and the method of survival of the former, and Rick was exactly correct when he said that the Saviors would attempt to bully them into submission, and the Alexandrians would ultimately fight back. The Saviors started the war with Alexandria (and technically with the Kingdom and Hilltop even earlier), period. Gimple as showrunner just had this obsession with creating a condition where Negan could be perceived as being "the Rick of his own story," someone whose actions when dealing with our favorite characters couldn't totally be dismissed or condemned "because he was just responding to what happened at the Outpost" -- but the writers totally and completely failed to put in the foundational backstory that would allow for viewers to actually feel that way *if they are paying attention*. Instead, they just resorted to methodically repeating this sentiment over and over again for viewers by having characters rewrite history re: how the two groups came into conflict, getting basic facts about their own show wrong because they were desperate to provide a shred of moral legitimacy to Negan's actions.
To start, I think blind wave is hilarious, damn good channel! But I feel like you guys didn't understand that the whole point on the michonne alternative scenes was to reflect on who she is and how saving andrea impacted her lifes events and what COULD have happened..
Yeah, even Michonne herself said it in an episode around season 3 or 4. After her son Andre died early in the apocalypse, she shut down, cutting herself off from humanity, and kept company with walkers. However, making the choice to help Andrea, she reopened her connection with humanity and that eventually led her to Rick and company.

Yeah, Calvin is kind of terrible in Walking Dead reactions because he's always complaining and/or not understanding the character stuff they do. He thinks everything has to be plot-driven, which is one of the worst ways to write a show (e.g how he thinks the only purpose of the Michonne hallucinations is to set up the reveal of the boots). He gives more insight on the practical stuff - how they conduct the fight scenes and why certain things might/might not work but I'm REALLY glad Shane and Eric are there because they tend to be able to grasp that the show IS doing something character-wise, even if they might not like it.
This show has been great lately but this episode made me realise this is the only storyline I give a shit about! The reunion is gonna break me emotionally 😂 especially when Rick sees Judith and RJ, it has to happen!!

@Raid ben achoure What do you mean? They re-shot everything except the scenes that featured actors no longer on the show, and in most of those cases you wanted the scene to remain identical anyway other than Michonne because it was an alternate version of things that already happened.

Yes they were. They were there in the season 8 finale (8x16). Rick's group walking to confront Negan, was near a long fence, and Rick saw a huge horde of walkers. He asked "Have you ever seen one that big?" They had reached one of the Whisperers borders with that fence and that massive horde included some Whisperers.
And I really enjoyed the flashback. It showed what wouldve happened if Michonne was the way she is today, back then. It also showed the side of Rick's group that people are afraid to see. That they were the bad guys in the saviour situation. They killed way more saviours, and negan killed 3 maybe 4 of our group. The way he ran his group was terrible, but our group murdered fathers, daughters, mothers, sons, husbands, wives, in their sleep.
Payton Boyce It’s still a giant false equivalence. Negan terrorized groups, forced them to give them supplies that put their communities at risk and literally flaunted smashed heads in their quarters. Ricks and them are no saints but the Saviors were completely worse.
Guys they just announced on the Walking Dead social media pages that the finale to this season is delayed due to the virus. But if it follows the same schedule as season 9, episode 15 of this season may be a big one.

Seasons 6, 7, 8, to now has taken place almost entirely in Virginia.

Didn't confirm it outright, but was more coy about it. "It may refer to an enemy the group will face in the future." Also, remember the first contact that Rick's group had with the Whisperers, they crossed into Alpha's territory unknowingly. Back then they didn't cross into her territory.

good reaction, I loved this episode, Danai 's performance was perfection as always and I loved the walkie conversation between Michonne & Judith it was heartbreaking, heartwarming & promising all at the same time and Cailey & Danai's chemistry just flowed even though they were just on walkies, & the What-IF trippy scenes were amazing, definitely gonna miss Michonne on the show but we will for sure see her in one or two of the RICK GRIMES movies I think Anne drew that phone image because she is an artist(She Painted the Glenn, Hershel, Beth and other Paintings that were just Destroyed at Hilltop) also the Anne Just Sketched it from Imagination because Michonne on it was the older Michonne with her Headband and Judith was just a nondescript girt with Ricks(Carls(judiths) HAT (man that hat has a lot of owners lol) also the writing on the phone is a m ssage from Anne(Jadis) Giving Rick hope, A Picture of his Wife and Daughter Saying "Rick, Believe A Little Longer", that translation came from Scott M Gimple(Walking Dead Producer) , Also the Michonne Siddiq scene at the beginning of the TRIP was brilliant, Danai & Avi have amazing on screen chemistry and their acting ability was on point in that scene, also on why Virgil drugged MIchonne (to try and give her the Heavenly experience and relieve her pain the way it did for him) Also Killing Virgil would've ruined Michonnes entire journey and made this mind-trip useless, because the reason her TRIP went bad was partly because of the guilt she felt for certain things in the past (IE killing all the people in their sleep, not picking up the hitchhiker and then seeing him dead, and even though it was not her fault not being there for Siddiq when he was killed) also I think that giant group is the CRM(Civic Republic Military) which are the helicopter people and are a huge factor in the new show Walking Dead WORLD BEYOND My favorite episode of the season as well, tied for my 3rd favorite episode in walking dead history with 4x8 Too Far Gone and 5x1 No Sanctuary With #1 being 9x5 What Comes After & #2 being 6x9 No Way Out

Maybe the main complain I've have about TWD fans in general, it's that everyone always claim they would just kill people a lot. "I would've kill that guy sooner!" "I wouldn't have trust that guy!". That's happened from the beginning. Guys, sorry to break it down to you... But you wouldn't. Not just because it's a zombie apocalypse and you fully understand the concept it means it wouldn't be hard to do so. Not only killing as a physical act can be difficult, it is emotionally and mentally draining and probably you would be looking for reasons Not to kill someone. It's not that hard to assume that Rick knows Judith is not a toddler anymore and has longer hair so she looks older on the pic. It's not like pic Judith looks 100% like real Judith

The large group you saw in the end scene is called The One. Not in the comic but written in for this. May be used for Commonwealth arc or the Rick Grimes movies.

Great reaction guys as always :) - Quick message for Shane... you asked at the beginning "How long have these guys (the Whiperers) been around?" - I think when you see the little back-story with Alpha when she finds Beta... we can see that she was involved with a semi-normal 'run for your life' post-apocalyptic scenario... but evolves into this "we must become one of them / embrace them" mindset. My guess is that something like that would have existed as a method of scavenging house-to-house safely, and then removing the masks when safe... as the groups have all moved away from large towns then the need to wear the mask for protection would have increased... and by osmosis the realisation that the dead could be 'controlled' would have developed this existence into one where using them was avoiding the risk of their own lives... and this would have evolved too... we did hear (as I'm up to date watching this with my daughter, but also starting again as my son wanted to watch the series) Morgan say in series 3, episode 12 "Clear" that he saw people wearing dead mens faces...

He really was coming from a good place when he gave Michonne the psychedelics. She found his captives before he could explain them and thought she would kill him for it. He explained that he wouldn't let them out because he was afraid they would kill him. He's been posted up in this place time tripping for who know's how long and thought that she would see her family/Heaven/blah blah like he does when he takes it. Definitely a different episode but I quite enjoyed it.
I can't wrap my head around Michonne not going back to arrange long term child care for her kids and see them in person to say goodbye and let everyone else know what's going on.

Rick's send off and the whole episode was amazing so I definitely dont have a problem with that :) this one wasnt bad but personally I would have killed Michonne off, she has been on the show for so long, her character arc is complete, I think it would have been great to see a big character death in a long time, she could have had some big emotional send off, people could have cried, I would have just done that, make justice for the character, like this its kinda playing it safe, but it wasnt bad :)
That large ass army of people marching in the end was CommonWealth from the comics which is a huge community of collected smaller groups of survivors all formed as one, I’m surprised no one is talking about that. Their not the CRM, my guess is in the Walking Dead Rick Movies, Michonne will meet their leader or something and then from there, find the CRM and eventually Rick.
No it's not, because Commonwealth will be on the show in season 11 and Michonne is not on the show anymore. It's CRM of some sorts who btw was confirmed to be a separate community and storyline compared to Commonwealth.

good reaction, I loved this episode, Danai 's performance was perfection as always and I loved the walkie conversation between Michonne & Judith it was heartbreaking, heartwarming & promising all at the same time and Cailey & Danai's chemistry just flowed even though they were just on walkies, & the What-IF trippy scenes were amazing, definitely gonna miss Michonne on the show but we will for sure see her in one or two of the RICK GRIMES movies I think Anne drew that phone image because she is an artist(She Painted the Glenn, Hershel, Beth and other Paintings that were just Destroyed at Hilltop) also the Anne Just Sketched it from Imagination because Michonne on it was the older Michonne with her Headband and Judith was just a nondescript girt with Ricks(Carls(judiths) HAT (man that hat has a lot of owners lol) also the writing on the phone is a m ssage from Anne(Jadis) Giving Rick hope, A Picture of his Wife and Daughter Saying "Rick, Believe A Little Longer", that translation came from Scott M Gimple(Walking Dead Producer) , Also the Michonne Siddiq scene at the beginning of the TRIP was brilliant, Danai & Avi have amazing on screen chemistry and their acting ability was on point in that scene, also on why Virgil drugged MIchonne (to try and give her the Heavenly experience and relieve her pain the way it did for him) Also Killing Virgil would've ruined Michonnes entire journey and made this mind-trip useless, because the reason her TRIP went bad was partly because of the guilt she felt for certain things in the past (IE killing all the people in their sleep, not picking up the hitchhiker and then seeing him dead, and even though it was not her fault not being there for Siddiq when he was killed) also I think that giant group is the CRM(Civic Republic Military) which are the helicopter people and are a huge factor in the new show Walking Dead WORLD BEYOND
My favorite episode of the season as well, tied for my 3rd favorite episode in walking dead history with 4x8 Too Far Gone and 5x1 No Sanctuary With #1 being 9x5 What Comes After & #2 being 6x9 No Way Out

Maybe the main complain I've have about TWD fans in general, it's that everyone always claim they would just kill people a lot. "I would've kill that guy sooner!" "I wouldn't have trust that guy!". That's happened from the beginning.
Guys, sorry to break it down to you... But you wouldn't. Not just because it's a zombie apocalypse and you fully understand the concept it means it wouldn't be hard to do so. Not only killing as a physical act can be difficult, it is emotionally and mentally draining and probably you would be looking for reasons Not to kill someone. Hell, it could be as petty as hating the smell of blood after a while who knows.
This is a pointless rant, but I had to do it. Most of the times you wouldn't do better, let just all let that go haha

Another thing i noticed is on the carving with michonne and judith, how does rick know what judith looks like if he "died" when she was still a toddler?
It's not that hard to assume that Rick knows Judith is not a toddler anymore and has longer hair so she looks older on the pic. It's not like pic Judith looks 100% like real Judith

They talked about that a little bit in the Talking Dead discussion show. It's something that will be expanded upon later. The phone had a recent likeness of Judith, not one as a toddler. So.....

Great reaction guys as always :) - Quick message for Shane... you asked at the beginning "How long have these guys (the Whiperers) been around?" - I think when you see the little back-story with Alpha when she finds Beta... we can see that she was involved with a semi-normal 'run for your life' post-apocalyptic scenario... but evolves into this "we must become one of them / embrace them" mindset. My guess is that something like that would have existed as a method of scavenging house-to-house safely, and then removing the masks when safe... as the groups have all moved away from large towns then the need to wear the mask for protection would have increased... and by osmosis the realisation that the dead could be 'controlled' would have developed this existence into one where using them was avoiding the risk of their own lives... and this would have evolved too... we did hear (as I'm up to date watching this with my daughter, but also starting again as my son wanted to watch the series) Morgan say in series 3, episode 12 "Clear" that he saw people wearing dead mens faces...

He really was coming from a good place when he gave Michonne the psychedelics. She found his captives before he could explain them and thought she would kill him for it. He explained that he wouldn't let them out because he was afraid they would kill him. He's been posted up in this place time tripping for who know's how long and thought that she would see her family/Heaven/blah blah like he does when he takes it. Definitely a different episode but I quite enjoyed it.
Pretty sure that Daryl lives in the basement of the Grimes' house, so Judith and RJ are fine.

Rick's send off and the whole episode was amazing so I definitely dont have a problem with that :) this one wasnt bad but personally I would have killed Michonne off, she has been on the show for so long, her character arc is complete, I think it would have been great to see a big character death in a long time, she could have had some big emotional send off, people could have cried, I would have just done that, make justice for the character, like this its kinda playing it safe, but it wasnt bad :)
That large ass army of people marching in the end was CommonWealth from the comics which is a huge community of collected smaller groups of survivors all formed as one, I’m surprised no one is talking about that. Their not the CRM, my guess is in the Walking Dead Rick Movies, Michonne will meet their leader or something and then from there, find the CRM and eventually Rick.
No it's not, because Commonwealth will be on the show in season 11 and Michonne is not on the show anymore. It's CRM of some sorts who btw was confirmed to be a separate community and storyline compared to Commonwealth.
