we're all devastated of the passing of Alexi Laiho. This hit me hard. RIP.
Gone too soon.. He was my guitar hero, an idol. My deepest condolences go to his family, band mates and his closest friends.

Jackson rr24 "Finland Custom"
This guitar was once the basic stock rr24 model, without any golden hardware. So, decided to take this as my project with my local guitar builder. It came out pretty good have to say :)
bridge: Schaller lockmeister 6 tremolo Gold with 32x50 mm block
nut: schaller r3 Gold
tuners: Gotoh sg381-07 tuners 6L Gold
pickup: emg-ALX signature
custom crafted white bindings
Tone: Bias FX 2
I remember listening to bodom thinking “I’d never be able to play any of there songs” the level was way above what I can do! When Alexi passed I only learned 2 songs “hatebreeder” “taste of my scythe” now I know 16 songs and my skill has improved so much!! That’s the awesomeness of his talent… just wish I could of seen them live
if you could play 16 songs... you wouldn't be here saying that you know exactly 16 songs... i hope you can tho... I just don't believe you XD
@@willykakka Why not? There are plenty of people with amazing skills that remain undiscovered or unappreciated due to many possible factors :D
1) You have like one of Alexi's...or had guitars
2) You play like him!
3) I thought it was Alexi that he cut his hair, but with colourful tattoos.

Wow, that was awesome! I'm still devasted about his death, just can't believe it 😢😢 Met him once at Nosturi back in 2008 when I was visiting FIN, my mom's homeland. He was super nice, joking & laughing with me, then gave me a signed T-shirt. Lots of people consider him as a guitarist, I hate it bc he was an excellent songwriter too. Anyway, take care! Thank you! I can't believe it either. We lost a truly talented musician. Also he was a fellow country man to me 😥 Saw them play many times here in Finland, no bad memories at all from those gigs. Tokyo warhearts was my first touch to cob and I got it when I was maybe 9 or 10 yrs old. That changed my taste in music for good. Greetings to AZ from Finland🤘

Hey man! great cover. I am thinking about doing the same mods to my rr24 but I heard that the schaller nut does not match with the current holes, did you have any trouble installing it?

Every hardware changed to golden ones, logo, pickup and white bindings.
How did you remake the binding from the original black to white?
Also, did you strip down the neck from the black finish?
I didn't do the job man. And yes, back of the neck doesn't have black finish
What all custom selections for each category did you put on that Jackson RR24 in Jackson Custom Shop pdf. file?

Also, would you perhaps have some more pics you could share with me on the customisation job? I have the same guitar and have always envisioned the black binding to be so much better in white/ivory. Really curious to see the job more in detail so I can explain and look for options with local luthiers. :)

Thanks a lot. Me too man. Actually this guitar was long time ago basic rr24, the boring yellow-black version. My local guitar builder switched the bindings, logo and hardware. Have to say, it is friking cool now!

@@carterguitarrr8090 well, the operation itself costs about the same as buying used rr24. It depends also who is your guitar guy :)

I'm trying to decide on a Tremolo bridge... do you recommend the Lockmeister? I can't decide between that and the Floyd Rose Original Series.
I work's for me. It is identical compared to original Floyd Rose. Keeps tuning well.

Mind if I ask how much your binding change costed you? I’ve been wanting to do this for the past decade I’ve had my guitar, but all of the luthiers I’ve contacted don’t want to do it. If you want to DM about it, I can link my FB, Instagram, or Twitter to talk more about it.

Hey dude! Just saw your comment. As far as I know you have 4 options. Jackson Customshop, Jackson Stars J2SP, Jackson RR-LL or Jackson RR24 limited. Most of which have to be upgraded with a Alexi-ish pickup and preamp with boost. Get either Jackson J-50BC /w JE-1000, EMG HZ F-H2 /w ESP MM-04, or EMG ALX /w ABQ. The pickup and booster into almost any medium-to-high gain Marshall style amp is the key to his sound.
