Support? I'm surprised a realtor of this caliber doesn't know the difference between marble. That's not bianca carrera marble in the kitchen and there's a big price difference. It's comparable to a car salesman selling a Mercedes AMG and the customer receiving a Mercedes. Goes to show it's Vancouver selling properties not the realtors.

I will say this. I know 35 mill seems like a lot. However this is custom and took three years to build. You just don't throw that together over night. This house is crafted not constructed. When your laying rooms full of marble those men and women have to get paid. Not to mention those doors, you won't find them home depot. 35 million is a little too much I agree More like 19 million fully furnished with both rolls royce cars.

I am a carpenter who builds interiors and cabinetry for homes like these and I can tell you all, that over the years I have learned one thing about the target buyer for this home... They don't care about how much it costs AT ALL.. They only care that it is exclusive and expensive and in Vancouver... It could be 10 million more and there would be interested clients.. When you have as much money as these people do you simply HAVE to put it somewhere...

    • @krdiaz8026

Hampton Manufacturing At least it gives people jobs. If the rich just keep their money in the bank, or buy a less expensive house, it won't help many people. I think many who hate the rich hate them because they want to be handed the money instead of being given work for it. Charity is one thing, but personally I think people who deserve charity are only those who truly can't help themselves.

the exterior is 1" thick limestone , the roof is solid slate , the gutter's and down-pipes are solid zink , the only maintenance needed for the exterior is maybe pressure washing in 5 or 10 years. There is over 900 thermal window panes that make up the windows and french doors. i supervised that site for over 2 1/2 years. i think the cost was 11 million to build the house. the rest is location and land value.

Before you say that all Vancouver mansions are ridiculously priced compared to U.S, that is a fallacy. I've seen WAY more ridiculous pricing on American houses not to mention this is in CAD. 40 something million USD would equal about 50 mil in CAD. And I've seen HIGHER numbers in USD for houses smaller than this. It is not a bad house at all and the price is average. And if ur not convinced still, think of Vancouver as the Canada Beverly Hills. Because in suburban areas the houses are way cheaper.

To the people saying its only $4-8 million are absolutely wrong. It's easily worth 12-15 in a "normal" market, not Vancouver's. I've worked for many celebritys and wall street titans in Connecticut, specifically Greenwich. We are currently working in Mel Gibson's old estate in Greenwich that's currently listed for $22 million. 75 landscaped acres and 15k square feet. Way more bang for your buck than this but its just that VC bubble. It'll pop eventually and then you won't be able to sell these places. All that being said, the craftsmanship is impeccable and that plus many other factors makes it work 12-15 easy

The guest bathrooms are the biggest failure of the building, showers all placed over bathtubs, not only impractical but dangerous. Get rid of the upper level family retreat and you have plenty of space to re arrange the whole floor to accommodate Bedrooms with proper ensuite bathrooms.

"Best streets/neighborhoods in the country"... Ya, there's dozens of these streets in Vancouver/West Van/North Van. And all this area has is mature trees. It doesn't even have a view at all. Else they would have shown it. It's really the location that you're paying for. It's the closest mature tree lined area to downtown, which is a big deal with West Van being a bit of a drive away, especially during rush hour. But, you actually want to drive in your Bentley don't you? Not just take it to get groceries a couple blocks away.
The interior of the house is tastefully modern, yet ultimately soulless and stale, as are most of the people with this kind of money.
14 million is my final offer. 14 million turds. That's all you're getting out of me :P

The materials and quality of the home are very low grade... Pavers for the driveway?! On a 30 million dollar house? And the creator of the marketing video is so in-sophisticated, to call the home a "European style estate"?! Defiantly hasn't had much of an education. And if I spelled anything wrong, I'm not the one selling the mega million dollar house.

Perfectly possible. Just get a mainland Chinese person to buy it as a speculative investment. When they do that, they leave the house empty, and don't even bother with rental income. This is why there is a 0.5% occupancy rate in the city. Meaning there's a massive shortage in housing. This is partly why I'm paying 750/month for a room in a dilapidated shared house that won't even fit a queen bed and a desk and chair! Thousands of house empty. Nice and Clean :P

Prices in Vancouver are ridiculously expensive and considerably over-priced because people will pay it. True this not worth $35M... I would say closer to $15M-ish... but that the Vancouver market... That voice over was very pretentious... and I know this might be picky, but some of the changeable features in that house (dining room ceiling, foyer chandeliers, etc) were very gawdy - everything else was nice though (I don't usually like too much marble - but it was nice here).
