Easier to fall asleep focusing on a radio drama, than trying to fall asleep. These aren't old time radio. I listened to these first run programs just a few years ago.
Well, Patrick, if you consider 42 to 50 years in the past (1974 to 1982) as being "just a few years ago", then you'd be correct. But you are technically correct in that the CBS Radio Mystery Theater isn't really "old-time radio", per se. But the atmosphere that permeates the Mystery Theater series has the "feel" of the OTR mysteries of the 40s and 50s, which is the main reason I have made it a part of my "OTR" collection.
@DVPOldTimeRadio actually these are much better than the olde timey stuff. Imagine the logistics of gathering writers, actors, engineers, editors for a one hour show every night of the week for over ten years. What an incredible accomplishment. Was it really 50 years ago? Seems like just a few weeks since I was laying on my waterbed, staring through the smoke at the black light posters.
Enjoy All. Was 65° in Paola, KS. Today. 02/14/'24. God Bless All at the Chiefs Parade in KC yesterday. Shooters at will. Crazy world!! Trump 2024. Jan. '25. Please? Pleasant Dreams!!
Please don’t bring politics here. This is my favorite place to come and clear my mind, away from the real world and all of its troubles. We need places without religion, war, politics, etc. Anyone can come here and listen to these wonderful stories and it doesn’t matter if we’re rich or poor, what we look like, where we’re from. We’re just a community of people sharing a love for classic radio shows and a feeling of nostalgia (even though some us weren’t alive yet). Let’s just enjoy this special place 💙
You are the stories I sleep to. Listening from Forks Washington, sweet dreams fellow listeners
I see most everyone sleeps when they put these on. I'm opposite, I'm up all night. Once I start listening.

@@dreamingoffall7694 Stay out the kitchen if you can't stand the heat. Stay out of the comments section if you can't take it.
@@dreamingoffall7694those were troubled times, much like today. These programs were a one hour escape from the protests, riots and scandals.
