THANK YOU for sharing this. I have been looking for this method. My grandmother made her kraut this way. All I could find was ferment or complication and this way is not complicated. It is down home simple. My grandmother taught me but it has been years since and I forgot how she did it until now. THANK YOU AGAIN. New subscriber.
Just saw your video. Great video, I did notice that you had 3 or 4 containers of cabbage to do and I wanted to tell you that I bought a huge stainless steel bowl from one of the companies that sells items on the internet (eBay, Amazon, and WalMart are my go to's), The bowl I bought could hold everything in your containers and then the same amount on top of that. I mean this bowl is huge. I kept searching till I found a bowl for 12.00 bucks. Shipping was free. I thought I would tell you about this bowl to help with cleaning up. It helped shred using a mandolin shredder, all my cabbage was in one bowl and I only had the one bowl to clean along with my mandolin. Good luck and God Bless!

Excellent video and new subscriber.
Thank you very much
Does it taste sour when it's done? Thank you for sharing.
Yes but it’s not overwhelming
If the lid does not pop down, you can still use it put it in the fridge and have in a week or too.
You can just don’t leave it out and try eating it later
Can I do this in pints and use half of the salt, sugar and vinegar.
Yes that should work just fine
how long do you wait until it's ready to eat?
It takes at least a month, but tastes best after six weeks, that is what my grandma taught me.
How long after canning the kraut do you need to wait to eat?
4 to 6 weeks
