WHITEWATER KAYAKING THE LOWER MEADOW

Kayaking the Lower Meadow (and Upper Gauley from Lost Paddle down) at about 650 cfs. I had always heard stories of the Lower Meadow and was stoked to finally get on it! Big shoutout to Alex Lee and John Moore for showing us the lines!

That took me back. In 1994, I almost drowned hand-paddling the right line (the sneak wasn't open then) at Coming Home at a fairly high level, and then I lost my friend Scott in 1996 to an undercut in Hell's Gate. Never stopped loving that river though - it just deserves respect. Really enjoyed watching you paddle!

Thank you so much! I've always been really hesitant to get on it due to all the hazards. It's such a gem though so I'm glad I finally got on it, can't wait to go back!
