Hisbodedus is a very useful treatment for technology addiction. Leave civilization for an hour every day and talk to HaShem. Focus on your prayer and your mind will be liberated from all of the fog online addiction does to you.
Generally though, we need to reduce our dependence on tech and return to simplicity be'ezrat Hashem.

But rav you show us how facebook and the internet can be used for sacred purposes. You have a facebook page and a youtube channel and a website. Rav Dror has a whatsapp group. These things they can be used for good!

there is a website www. e-daf.com, where every daf in shas has an online shiur. I have learned close to 8 full masechtos though this site, and the words of kedusha from Rav Arush we would never see without internet either. The internet can be used for kedusha, and evil. A person has this free will in every aspect of their life, and someone who cannot control themselves on the internet most likely cannot control their other yitrei hara. You cannot be afraid of the world, but have the seichel to use it for good!

In my very humble opinion, what I understand so far is that the rav is not talking about professional accounts (brands, companies, institutions…) This can really be useful, windows to business and general causes, charities… and so on. rather what I understand here, is that the rav is talking about personal profils, which really should alarm us at some point. There are kids watching their parents going on social medias, sharing their private pictures with perfect strangers… all day long. this interrupts directly in the education process and calling into question protective barriers children must receive at home, without people being clearly aware of it. in fact, we don’t know how this new habits impact kids and we should really mesure it now. Recent studies showed how the screen time deteriorates the focus of children (subject which is by the way discussed many years ago on Rav Aruch’s book The garden of education where he made the connection between screen time, hyperactive kids and ritalin) just sharing thoughts, hope this helps 💓
