I’ve recently fitted the same unit to my leader 8, plus upgraded to their speaker, fantastic set up, connects to my phone as soon as I power the boat, we can control it via the Garmin displays etc etc. Amazing sound quality even at full volume, plus it’s great to be able to quickly and easily change the volume distribution to each zone of the boat, depending where you want it at any given time.
I have looked at upgrading our DAB / Bluetooth unit to Fusion, but what I am struggling to understand, like you, is why, unless you buy a £700 head unit, that DAB isn't supported with FM being literally switched off around the globe! Everything else is fusion - speakers, PA etc. Absolutely amazed that the wiring block was u/s out of the box too - great upload this which I have just referred back to for inspiration ahead of SIBS 24
Well its certainly an improvement 3 of the 4 speakers work, but i'm not sure if i want to RMA yet another device i may just tape the connector and wires in tight to the radio shell and if that works then i can live with that. 😂
Sod that for a lark Dave. I bought a £4 iPod/iPhone connector for the regular stereo and simply run my own music through it. There are bugger all DAB stations down here anyway.
haha we do sometimes bluetooth to the stereo, but the stereo is along way away from the cockpit when we're underway so wire wasn't really an option, despite the fact there is that massive long ipod cable in there some where I can't for the life of me find the opposite end of it to plug something in to it.
Great video and good kit. Have also just bought one and the DAB instructions are not clear about needing to update are they. One question for me, that cable from the antenna to the DAB module ends in connector that seems to be locked in once inserted. Is there an easy way to remove them do you know?

Yep I've just got a Garmin watch too as I'm a nerd and I can control it from the watch too 😉

While at SIBS go find Richard at ROC marine ask him to show you the kicker and rockford fosgate marine stuff tell him Dave from Wild Rose sent you.
@@DavesBoat Certainly will do!
What a monumental pain in the arse. I'm glad they replaced it so easily. Hope the next one works.

There's a little clip you need to release doesn't look like it does but give it a prise with your finger nails then then connector will pop off
