Mexico was missing Santi Giménez, Luis Chávez, Julián Quiñones, Julián Araujo, Gerardo Arteaga and even though he’s the worst of the bunch, but Uriel Antuna too. This doesn’t mean Mexicos problems are fixed, that is a whole big issue that'll take years to resolve- However it’s clear that Vasco Aguirre could potentially do more with a full squad. Regardless, this was also an alternative squad for Mexico, with only 5 of them being locked starters (in recent games)
It’s gonna take a minute to truly change this program. Our number one GK is a sub and not a day in day out starter. One of our starting CBs is 39. We lack depth in our player pool talent wise anyways
I feel like the starting lineup picks itself if every1 is healthy but the problem is if adams or gio aren't available we wont be able to compete with the top 15 teams. without dest we aren't competing with top 20 teams. matter fact put haji on the wing and pulsic and play 10.
Regarding Aaronson and Musah. We have all definitely seen potential and talent there. Look at Musah against England and then look at Aaronson when he was flying high with confidence. I’ve seen him look comparable to Pulisic in tight spaces in moments. So the ability is there, I just think they are both low on confidence and mentality is all f’ed up atm. They look awful right now, but I believe they could come correct in 4-7 years.
As USMNT fan, I never believed this generation was a “Golden Generation” this has been the most talented USMNT team I have seen but talent doesn’t equal success, also USMNT isnt even top 20 in the world when it comes to talent as well.
@@Awesomereach94 But compare it to the previous generations. This USMNT team is still much better than the previous ones. The main difference is that before almost everyone played in the same league, same style and it was easy to build a team around a single style. We don't have that anymore.
Look at the reality compare our golden generation to England's golden generation Balogun-Kane, Weah-Saka, Gio-Bellingham, Foden-Pulisic, Weston Mckenie-Declan Rice, Ream-Maguire ect. USMNT golden generation is a disrespect to gold it should be called a silver or bronze generation.
not a great result, but not putting the blame on poch. I'll give him a bit before i start the trash talking. the players haven't had anytime to really adopt or implement what poch wants. he's probably testing depth and giving players a final look.
It’s a failure. Which is a good thing. This is the time to fail. Learn, gather info, test depth, see who’s over the hill, learn which young player need to progress and see who should be nowhere near a U.S. men’s bat team jersey. That’s what friendlies (months from meaningful games) are for. If this was Beehalter it would be same ol song and dance. With a new coach I’m taking this as a weeding out and fall clean out. He has to do this to know what depth he’s working with and so many injured and shelved players. This is exactly where they need to be. So I’m not worried. Players need to get healthy, ball out, and coach needs to translate that to the national team. Work in progress!
If you are using U.S. media & fans expectations as the basis, well, this was a complete failure. However, if you look at this as a starting building block towards 2026, it should not be viewed as a disaster. Part of why it was perceived this way was because there had been so much discussion about the U.S. team having so much depth & at the same time, so many were saying how the once mighty Mexico had fallen to such a low level. It turns out that neither of those assumptions were fully correct. The media & fans were, in my opinion, unrealistically expecting immediate very positive results when Pochettino was hired, much like the success that Canada has enjoyed, as soon as Jesse Marsch was hired as their coach. This is a very different situation because Marsch had coached in Canada before & he had been an assistant coach for an international country team (U.S.A.) & he was fully aware of the pitfalls of playing on the road in CONCACAF. For Pochettino, it has been a cultural baptism of sorts & he will not turn the U.S. program around overnight. Also, in Canada, Marsch's approach was similar to his predecessor, John Herdman; but Pochettino & Berhalter had completely different tactics & approaches. Once again, it will take time to make these major changes. It will be interesting to see how Pochettino handles this mounting pressure & we have to wonder how all of this will impact the players beliefs & perspective.
@@TacticalManager Carter Vickers and Mackenzie would be interesting pair to see together. Do we know what happened to mackenzie exactly? Nothing serious I hope
Us fans are second to Chelsea. Get a grip. We are lacking but do have some very good players. I'm glad that we figured out that Vasquez has a tangible value. We have to understand roles, not hype.
Guys, I suspect Poch will continue to play Aaronson for his pressing unless maybe Gio is healthy. Not that I agree with it, but it seems to be what he likes.
Poch messed up allowing Pulisic to sit it out. You think he would sit out the England game next year, its a meaningless friendly right?. 2nd game and has already created a don't need to play mentality. He thinks this is Spurs vs Fleetwood town in the cup
Adam said it early on "it's a process" Poch has got to rediscover the soul of the USMNT (similar to how Mikel Arteta had to at Arsenal) it'll take it's time, little by little, camp by camp there'll be improvments but it'll take time, he won't do it overnight, this camp certain squad players were given a chance and I'm sure the players know what Poch expects of them, in isolation it wasn't a good camp, but really it's all about Poch setting a baseline and then moving forward, if they've gone backwards by this time next year then questions should be asked but for now give him time
The championship players have played more minutes than Pulisic. They played 3 games in a week then travelled have across the world to play 2 games in five days. They were basically set up to fail. The championship players shouldn’t have been called in to start with and let rest. A 9.30 pm start would have been played at 3.30 am England time. The championship is miles better than mls or league MX
Musah stock down- he has not improved since the World Cup, not getting much playing time at Milan, and I expect more from a player with over 40 NT caps.
I agree with this. I've seen many people speculate about what they think Poch learned during this camp, but the reality is, we don’t really know what he took away from it.
We won’t tell if it’s success or failure if you don’t have the tools you need. Have your mechanic fixing a flat tire without a Jack and no spare tire. If he doesn’t, Will that make him a bad Mechanic?
The USMNT players are the failure. Although the USSF should have went all out to sign a proven football manager who has won a multitude of trophies, the performance is not Pochettino’s fault. The reason why the USMNT lost is because their players showed no effort or attempt to win.
Y'all are coping. The overall camp was a failure. I think the jury is still out on Pochettino, but our golden generation of players are mid at best. We need better players, take pulisic, gio, balogun off the pitch and we get smashed by a sad Mexico national team. We need better players
I'm 100% fine with this camp cycle. 10,000 injuries....down to a B/C team. SO, good opportunity for Poch to check out the mid-level talent. CP going back to Italy? Who freaking cares? You know what he brings every game. I'd rate it a 6. 6?!?!...b/c he's seen what he doesn't want and got that over with early.
A complete fail. However, it’s not his fault. We just don’t have the players to make a real run in the World Cup. Let’s face it, that’s the only reason he’s here. We’re gonna play on our soil in about a year and a half, and we’re either gonna get bounced to the group stage or get to the first level of playoffs And punch out there. A manager can’t score goals or play defensively. You can only pick the guys and the strategy, but that only goes so far if you don’t have the players.
It was a total success if Pochettino actually LEARNED anything from bringing in this B/C team to play Mexico: 1. Miles Robinson should NEVER EVER wear a USMNT shirt again. 2. Brendan Aaronson's ONLY role henceforth should be to use that pesky horsefly pressing energy to drive the opposition crazy during Garbage Time, when the team is ahead, does not need any more goals (cuz he sure proved how useless he was as a 10), and just needs somebody to press the heck out of the other team and close out the match. 3. Auston Trusty deserves a lot more looks. He looked good, and did not make the same sort of STUPID MLS level mistakes that Miles Robinson did. 4. Musah actually has shown promise many times already as a defensive mid, and that's the ONLY role he should be used as in the future. He's not a winger, wingback, or a true defensive back. I don't know why his coaches can't figure this out. Musah as a defensive mid would have been 1000x better than Aidan Morris. 5. Aidan Morris should only be considered a 4th choice henceforth, a Jesus Feirrera equivalent in the defensive mid role, to play the Minnows of the Caribbean. Tyler, Cardoso, Musah should be ahead of him as a defensive mid. 6. Zendejas and Vasquez showed enough heart to deserve more looks. 7. Time to move on from Sargent. The guy doesn't score. And that is his job as the 9. 8. Tillman just doesn't have any interest in trying hard with the USMNT. Poch even said this in an interview where he explained why Tillman was NOT Dele Alli (doesn't have the same intensity). I would give him just a couple more chances and then drop him from the USMNT if he doesn't show.
You guys give to much credit to the eredivise and prem championship but honestly in my opinion the mls is better and mls players are not good enough for the usmnt
It's enraging to see these guys claim McKenzie is good while making up Miles Robinson & Tim Ream are bad. McKenzie is pretty bad. He's pretty fast & quick though.
They are Bad. Tim Ream has been on the decline, and his touch is completely gone. Either he holds the ball for too long, or he misplaces his passes. He doesn’t even try long balls that often anymore. Robinson has been the same player, if not worse. Why the hell wouldn’t you try McKenzie when he just upgraded leagues and actually plays in a back 3.
The USA Men's National Soccer Team Head Coach Mr Pochettino Should Rebuild The New Team That's The Only Way USA Can Win,Slow Selfish Player From the Forward Should be Removed.
Your comments about Brandon Vazquez were ridiculous. You literally had zero substantive critiques of his play, which makes sense because you can't make up the "bad feet" argument anymore, which was always a lie. For Vazquez you said "I watched him a few times, and he doesn't convince me." I remember instances where you were watching him play in MLS and you also made up that he played poorly. You seem to target MLS players in favor of your European dual-nationals who are mostly bad.
Adam is correct and I'm thinking as a casual fan in that Alejandro Zendejas has been consistently giving assists and needs to be captain to make this logic or idea plausible for it to work. Josh Sargent and the other guy what's his name who missed a scoring opportunity....a sitter both of this guys tried going alone afterward via Gong Ho lone wolf after one scoring attempt, what gives. Oppositions do watch lots and lots of tapes about each and every player at their own end in practice and you'd think it's a team effort mentality when it comes to playing this sport. Playing from the back becomes easier if and when the ball's progression at midpoint is less stagnant. Passing and recieving the ball back and receiving the ball "again" should be the gold standard for " fluidity" and is nothing to fret about just by looking at our last friendly. Aiden Morris, Joe Scully, Miles Robinson prefer one touch football and are all quick to check out after a foiled pass and they are soon out anticipating a counter after ball repossession, Aka through a hard foul ( not called by the referee). Just my 2 cents. Alejandro Zendejas gets fouled, but we need a backup to carry on reclaiming a loose ball Serie A's way. I won't name him for know.❤

It was success. Now he knows that he needs to play the best available. No more experimenting. Just work with the resources you have.
Poch needs a fair shot with this team. he will get it. we need to be patient. Trust the process
I mean had a better result than canada against panama.. although canada played much much better against panama
Had SATs in the morning but couldn’t miss pochs first game against Mexico
I just think it's was an opportunity for Poch to see who to keep and who to drop.
It’s gonna take a minute to truly change this program. Our number one GK is a sub and not a day in day out starter. One of our starting CBs is 39. We lack depth in our player pool talent wise anyways
We need to give Poch some time. But our back up players are terrible…
Thats why he should have started the others in mexico
They look awful right now, but I believe they could come correct in 4-7 years.
the "golden generation" narrative is a myth, just cause they play in Europe doesnt mean they're great players
As USMNT fan, I never believed this generation was a “Golden Generation” this has been the most talented USMNT team I have seen but talent doesn’t equal success, also USMNT isnt even top 20 in the world when it comes to talent as well.
Not all club footballers are great at international play! It takes a certain type of player to play on a national team. A different mindset!
@@Awesomereach94 But compare it to the previous generations. This USMNT team is still much better than the previous ones. The main difference is that before almost everyone played in the same league, same style and it was easy to build a team around a single style. We don't have that anymore.
They have more talent. That's why they're "golden"
Talent alone won't make them successful.
Adam is good you should have him more
If you are using U.S. media & fans expectations as the basis, well, this was a complete failure.
The problem with Reyna is we may never see him play again.
we need to believe..
No Tyler, no peace.
Jedi for Captain
I trust Poch and Our Beautiful USA Men Team alot Dear Filippo. We will come back stronger and our injuries will be well and fine Dear Filippo.🤗🥰😍🇺🇲🔥🙏
Need to give Maloney a chance
Out of the injuries do we know which ones should be healthy for the November window?
Here are a few:
Pulisic will be back, Tyler Adams, Weah, Weston Mckennie, Johnny, Carter Vickers
All others are out or questionable.
GK stock UP. Celentano and Slonina… neither has gotten a chance. They should over this next year in a friendly
Can we place comments for each player we want… or should we do it for one… hmmm should probably go per position
I'll give it a seven.
Zim > miles, trusty, etc...
How can Tim Ream not be a stock down?
He did the best he could with the remaining player he had available to him, forget the coach, Me personally, I would be on the player’s ass
Do you still think the US has depth!?
It’s way too early to tell.
We need to start interpreting some younger guys to the team already
Why even call it Pochettino's camp? The USMNT is still Gregg's Kids and Gregg's Game.
Sargent gets more chances? He already hasn’t scored in 5 years bro. Might as well get Jesus Ferreira another chance
No
I rather Paxten Aaronson as false 9 then Ferreira at this point, Luna and Gutierrez have more quality then Ferreira will ever have
Jesus Ferreira for USMNT:
*23 Games*
*15 Goals*
*4 Assists*
Josh Sargent for USMNT:
*27 Games*
*5 Goals*
*1 Assist*
These videos are so stupid the man has one week of training let him work
The USMNT players are the failure. Although the USSF should have went all out to sign a proven football manager who has won a multitude of trophies, the performance is not Pochettino’s fault. The reason why the USMNT lost is because their players showed no effort or attempt to win.
Hot take: is the Championship as a whole any better than MLS?
We only have 8 A class players, the rest are just average players unfortunately
You can only pick the guys and the strategy, but that only goes so far if you don’t have the players.
aaronson should go back to mls
Definitely is failure, with Gregg we would've won both games
It was a total success if Pochettino actually LEARNED anything from bringing in this B/C team to play Mexico:
For the players on the field it's a failure. For Pochettino it's still too early to grade.
You guys give to much credit to the eredivise and prem championship but honestly in my opinion the mls is better and mls players are not good enough for the usmnt
Your crazy. Eresivise performance in the champions league shows you their level
@@albertmoreno6408 have you seen the games ?? Only 1 or two good teams that dominate then the rest aren’t good
@@albertmoreno6408 además acaba la mls de ser rankeada como la #9 y la eredivise como la 13 así que no soy yo quien piensa eso
@@DarvinLemus yo no confío en los ranking. Eredivise y Holanda en general son bueno en el futbol.

injury crisis of 2024
USA Never plays well in Mexico... They're usually happy with a TIE IN MEXICO 😅
USA wasn't going to Win in Mexico...THEY NEVER DO. 😅
👍
The USA Men's National Soccer Team Head Coach Mr Pochettino Should Rebuild The New Team That's The Only Way USA Can Win,Slow Selfish Player From the Forward Should be Removed.
Rebuild it how? With which players? The U.S. doesn't have players to spare.
Miles Robinson & Tim Ream stock down. they need to be left in the Berhalter era… 🗑🗑
This channel and Yanks also slobbered on the red head. That needs to stop. Look at talent and need.
