To be fair, if scale is taken into consideration, each snow 'flake' would be at least the size of quarter, if not one's entire hand. Try plowing through that.
Hats off to you good sir. You are a nerd of the highest order. The Lord nerd I salute you, and bask in the wonderment of your nerdness. Praise be to the man or woman who can out nerd this nerd.
put a plow on a train car and then put three engines behind that car. that'll give you more pushing power. more wheels and with more power to them also means more traction and weight. and more weight will help you slide less.
Agree, the snow piles up in front of the train and this causes the more power to push away the snow. A plow might help the train to gain some power back.
Yea. And Also when you make a Snowball,it gets really hard because ur pushing it together. That happens here too. that makes it nearly impossible for the train.
Yah it once snowed about 4 inches where I live and the night before I set up a train track. I took a flat car and put a plow on the front and a side on top for ballast. The flanges in the engine kept being pushed up by the snow and derailing. So I just scooped off all the snow by hand.
The problem is, is that you need more mass, the snow in comparison to the train is pretty heavy, like how if someone runs really fast into a wall it's not going to move if the wall is made out of bricks. I suggest more mass on the train, or you could always go for more speed, but there is a limit due to frictional forces and the train not having a lot of momentum (p = mv), additionally there are ways of reducing the amount of friction onto the train by the snow by including things like snow plow at the front to push the snow past the train rather than trying to move it forwards.
Good job I will give you support for all the hard work you guy's chrans made our of Lego,s wich I nvn seen between my ones eyes before grateful job grateful job bye have a good lifetime make cool videos and ceep it up she re the love and pest byeeeeee.
Cool video from watching it I thought of something if you can hand make they plowed the fit onto the diesel train replica it would be easier for it to plow plus the downwards force from a plowing snow would keep the front end from lifting up off the track
I think its because the trains are too light, so it loses kenetic energy very fast. I'd say add some dead weight to the train, I don't know if it'll work, but maybe next year. (Its almost July 4th)
The yellow train has 2 motors. Problem is, that when ever you get a bit of snow on the tracks and touch it or the train runs over it, it turns to ice. No matter how much torque you have, small lightweight trains on plastic/ice rails wont work.
The locos are made of plastic and are not very heavy. Therefore there isn't enough traction and not enough momentum. Next time put some extra weight in them and try again.
Instead of using the Lego motors, just use the most powerful rc plane motors that you can find that still fit inside the train and jerry rig it together.
U need a snow plow if u want ur train to run, but hold on a second u use Lego train and it's pretty clear that a train that uses batteries won't be able to go through the snow like a 00/0 gauge train
I mean... the trains are made of plastic. They're LESS DENSE than the snow. it's not a question of 'engine strength' since no matter how many trains you stack up in a row, they won't be able to generate sufficient friction to push forward with.
what you should do is make a lego snow turbine and put it in the front and have it spinning while plowing through the snow, it would be like a snow eater!
For what it's worth, real trains have the same problem when you scale it up. They have to punch in and back out. It's a bit mundane, yes, but sometimes it's the only way. You can improve your success here by adding a car or two with several of those weights from the old Lego boats. Momentum is a thing... A plow of some kind would work. Or some kind of rotary plow.
Worst understanding of physics and friction ever. You should've put a weight on the front of the MOC 60051. It had the best shape for cutting through the snow, but wasn't heavy enough on the front end. Next time try putting a small metal washer on the bottom the train to give it more drive. Even if you do this, you still have to account for the fact that snow is an object that is covering the rails themselves. Those wheels are eventually going to spin and the engine stall out after a period of time because it'll be derailed, unless the snow keeps it from veering off-course too much on the sides
To be fair, if scale is taken into consideration, each snow 'flake' would be at least the size of quarter, if not one's entire hand.
Try plowing through that.

Haha, thank you!
your three trains on a ramp into the snow cracked me up.. ty for the laugh needed it today
wow, you are a natural at flattening snow with a shovel

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was on board this train during its devastating crash.
I would recoment building some kind of snow plow with some sloped parts.
JuMa Bricks I agree
exactly
JuMa Bricks perhaps... but the trains need raw power to slice through snow that deep. The trains here are even said that they don’t have enough power.
Agree, the snow piles up in front of the train and this causes the more power to push away the snow. A plow might help the train to gain some power back.

Click on here because I thought they were real trains.
Me LMAO
sorry :)
Sameeeeee
Me Too
🤔
I can't believe this is real footage. Brave crew members...
Without a plow your basically trying to dig snow with a brick
Yep. But harder.
Yah it once snowed about 4 inches where I live and the night before I set up a train track. I took a flat car and put a plow on the front and a side on top for ballast. The flanges in the engine kept being pushed up by the snow and derailing. So I just scooped off all the snow by hand.
The neighbors cat is actually the railroad inspector.
The German ICE actually looks really good in the snow!
#master builder
#pure dedication

The front diesel looks like the front loco from "Runaway Train"
It looks kinda cute
Good video :)
Maybe the design of the train will help , usually when it is cold and snows trains usually have a triangular pyramid on its front to push off the snow
I think that was a neat idea.
nothing scientific but all an all good fun. congrats.
Use like the piece in City constrcution thats used for small diggers, its like a bucket and has sharp cuts
this is what i need in my life
Snowclearing what _Ice Planet 2002_ parts are for. The snow wouldn't have been a problem with a few translucent neon orange chainsaws.
Liked for the effort and trying. :)

You can put the Sony Action Cams inside the commuter trains
Cool video from watching it I thought of something if you can hand make they plowed the fit onto the diesel train replica it would be easier for it to plow plus the downwards force from a plowing snow would keep the front end from lifting up off the track

You should make a 3d printed snowblower
About going down the ramp
The train is going faster than the motor so when you turn on the motor it slows it down.
Also you need a plow
GG SKI BIKE Goike you have to forcefully turn the wheels when the motor is off they can’t roll so turning on the motor would help in this case
Great catch....epic images... Thumbs UP!!!! Big like & subscribe from Romania
What you need is 1 of those fanbladed snow plow trains
Should have built a special flatcar with a snowplow on the front weighted down with lead or something
I thought this was a real train video because it popped up in my recommendations.
Hello..
I like mini train...
Good i love it
Awesome
You should put 2 motors in each train like I did -> increased power, torque and hill climbing capability.
The yellow train has 2 motors. Problem is, that when ever you get a bit of snow on the tracks and touch it or the train runs over it, it turns to ice. No matter how much torque you have, small lightweight trains on plastic/ice rails wont work.
Great idea! Lovely video! Keep on with more tests, you have a new fan from Barcelona
The only solution I can see is a small portable flame thrower car. Let us know when you have that working :-)
cool that would work! i got one
That new Thomas the Tank Engine movie looks great
Maybe use a custom plow that connects to the front. If that doesn’t work, try stirring up the snow just a bit around the tracks. Great video tho!
Powered snow throwing lego train!
"The ice has frozen over the tracks." -Conductor

You should try a snow plow on the train.

I wish I got this much snow where I live
The commuter train litterally went on top of the snow...lol.
warn snow doesnt move. if the temperature was under 0 celsius it would probably have been more light
You need a heavy train behind those engines. That will give them some momentum and they will not stop so quickly.
It will make the trains go over the snow
Seems like that Polar Express scene but with snow lol
The title should be (lego trains fails to plow through high snow)
Oh the express train tried to get on top of the snow then crush it like an ice breaker but it also got stuck..
Its because of its shape
Вертикальный клин надо спереди ставить чтоб пробить
I saw in the thumbnail that it was a model train already.
You need a 4533 snow plow!
You need to make a costum plow
you should've made a custom plow
You should try to make a snow plow
wow!
U need a snow plow if u want ur train to run, but hold on a second u use Lego train and it's pretty clear that a train that uses batteries won't be able to go through the snow like a 00/0 gauge train
im not a physicist but weigh+speed will do, maybe ad some weight and bigger motor that generate enough inertia
Put a scoop wheel on front that puts snow to top of train and catch snow in a car to dig trough.
(for the older AFOLS) : Silly soft stuff said Thomas as he charged the snow as he left the tunnel, silly soft stuff..... oh - I'm stuck.
I mean... the trains are made of plastic. They're LESS DENSE than the snow.
it's not a question of 'engine strength' since no matter how many trains you stack up in a row, they won't be able to generate sufficient friction to push forward with.
Make the train do a loop-de-loop
what you should do is make a lego snow turbine and put it in the front and have it spinning while plowing through the snow, it would be like a snow eater!
Not quite a recreation of snowpiercer I was hoping for 😅
Divide by 2 the height of the snow it will give more results
Im super drunk, this was an awesome video

I could've told you it won't work, but you had to learn the hard way :D lol
Don’t you have a lego train plow I tried it before it worked fine
Cool
Hello nice person scrolling through the comments have a great day
The old 12v trains would have done it. They don't build them like they used to.
Cooool😮😮😮😮😍😍😍😍
Me and 1.8 million other people are wondering how the hell we ended up in this part of RUclips.
Just add a snow ploy on it and it should make it 😏
add some more mass to first locomotive, or make snow plow, which will "press" train down.
Try making a snow plow for them
you need to add floor heatment.
Needed power and weight all together
Also scale vs real life is very different
You need build a snow plouw on the front side
The issue Is that that snow would be 3meters deep in real life if you had like 10mm of snow it would work better
Worst understanding of physics and friction ever. You should've put a weight on the front of the MOC 60051. Will C. I think he should of just used the broom to sweet the snow off
It might've work better with two motors on one train and additional mass on both of them
I’m a grown ass man! I’m just gonna leave this here
Snow looks wet n heavy
That train is lazy
Kristen lathrop p
It might be because it’s packing snow
make snow plow with rotating head. easier to fling the snow out of the way than push into it and compress it. ;-)
Time to try snow plow in front of head...
make a snow plow car
He can actually use the technic unimog. But the B model. It has a snow plow. He would just have to attach some motors to make it drive.
WishYourLife good idea, however the point is he is using a train
Tho you said "Car" not train. Thats why i thought it would fit.
Maybe you meant Cart ?
No car is another word for truck or cart, something a train pulls
Locomotives can’t do it, nothing can
i thought this was real and i thought it was fake because they looked like lego
you have way too much time on your hands ... I would do this too but I live on a corner lot and the neighbors would have me taken away ! lol
WOW first try epic fail
Build your self a vintage steam engine with a cow catcher grill on the front
