Regarding your favorite show you do, I see your passion for telling us about new releases. It's just a shame that there are so many who have close minds to new music. If I had a close mind to new music, I would miss out on great bands such as Wobbler. Keep doing the new releases.
I’ve always been curious, and I’m sure Pete has answered this at some point, if Pete plans on making digital copies of all that music he has. Yes it would obviously take an eternity to do but…. CDs might last for a long time but they are apparently not going to last forever. Plus it would give peace of mind to have backups just in case something happens to the collection.

Great show Pete and Hi from UK. Never heard you mention The Strawbs - with or without Rick Wakeman! Very influential on the pop/prog scene in the seventies. Heroes and Heroines, Ghost are 2 great prog albums. I regarded them as similar to Supertramp but perhaps a bit harder edge. They have an interesting catalogue.
Hi Pete, Simon McBride has released 5 solo albums so far and I have them all. A terrific guitar player and it's time for him to start appearing on people's radar.
Enjoyed watching after it aired. I do think the new album reviews are so essential, partly because: in the future, this may be one of the first reviews of a classic, like a Dark Side of the Moon, or Misplaced Childhood. Who knows...

I am shocked at two things tonight: 1) Pete has never met Martin in person? I would have thought the two of them would have had many beers together at concerts and other get togethers. 2) Even though my friend got me tickets for the Priest show in NY this Fall, he never told me who was opening for Priest. And now I feel really dumb because I didn't look it up or ask him either. The good thing is now I will flying to NY to see two great shows back to back. Priest and Queensryche and Maiden with Within Temptation.
Almond milk is a weird choice for me unless it's vanilla or chocolate. Unsweetened Iced tea is actually pretty good though. And as a wild card, I'm a huge fan of Monster Energy. Enjoyed watching except to few annoying people. Everyone else behaved them selves. My school topic maybe it would be hard to do for top songs unless they were not all hard rock and metal. Not many have done as much other then Alice Cooper Brownsville Station or such and well just whatever a top 5. There's tons of great new black metal music and bands and very little is from the legacy acts, the last Enslaved is ok and the last Immortal was good for 5 minutes. But new Mayhem, Darkthrone, and others is not good. cheers mate. Try White Ward -Futility Report It's black metal mixed with Jazz, right up your alley.
Agree with the comment that there's tons of new great black metal but I also understand Pete’s sentiment that since there is so much that it can be difficult to listen to it all. Some of my favorites have been by the bands Mare Cognitum, None, and Panopticon.
I think it was a combination of bands. Blue Cheer, Steppenwolf, Vanilla Fudge, Iron Butterfly, the Guess Who, Blue Oyster Cult and Mountain in North America. Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Budgie in the UK. I think these were all the ‘proto metal’ bands. And then Judas Priest were the first true heavy metal band.
Im late to the show... but came up with a SOT show idea!!!: Name one song from three to five bands that is the very definition of HEAVY METAL!!!?? NOT: New Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal... ect. Just traditional HM.
Obscura is a tech-death metal band and not a progressive death metal band, watch your episode on tech-death bands. Wilderunn is a great prog-death metal band, watch your review.
I don't need to watch it, I was part of it. Tech-death/prog-death...not far removed from each other, all if it technical and progressive. Obsura are just as progressive as early Opeth, Death, and Wildrerunn.
@@seaoftranquilityprog There's a big difference between tech death bands like Obscura, Origin, ArchSpire, Necrophagist, and the bands you mentioned, even your guest that day would agree. Progressive death metal is a much easier and enjoyable listen than tech death, which gets boring really quick. Just my opinion!! Cheers
