    The way you teach makes this very enjoyable. By far, the best Git tutorial on the youtube.

    I just want to say that these tutorials have been incredibly useful for me. I started out knowing only the idea of git, and now I use it for all my side projects. Thank you.

    Damn I discovered your channel some hours ago and I'm a newbi in processing (well in programmation in generall but I'm trying to learn processing) and after seeing some of your coding challenge and tutorials I'm really motivated to learn more about it thanks to your energy and enthusiasm that is really cool !
    And I just saw that you have around 95 challenge videos, a lot of tutorials and other interesting stuff (mutations programs!? Interesting...) so now, *put on a black suit, throw a rose* let's bury my social life and get down to the important business, I have some month of coding to do!
    Thanks for all your work, I'll follow you starting from today (:

    Wow, I wish I found this video series when I was learning git for the first time several months ago!
    Managed to get there in the end by rolling my face on the keyboard a bunch. (And plenty of google-fu)

    This is nice! Awesome that you even used a real example for demonstrating it.

    I like your videos, they are fun to watch and informative at the same time. It's interesting that a first episode (about git was issued in 2016 and the last one... well maybe it's not the last one, probably it's more appropriate to call latest (current) in 2018).

    The Coding Train
    Can you cover branch related git (cli) commands? The branch tutorial was too early in the series for git cli examples/explanations

  • @GermanSnipe14
    @GermanSnipe14 6 лет назад +20

    Yo Shiffman! You can write
    git commit -m "[Commit message here]" -m "[Detailed description here]"
    Just letting you know that you can do it that way instead of having to edit the whole commit message in vi

    I've noticed that on Linux the git commands and other names like branches bla bla bla do autocomplete with the tab key. Is there a way to replicate that behaviour on Mac?

    I have an idea for your next coding challenge - face swapping peoples faces with AI, something like in faceapp's application, it will be very interesting how it works to get the face and transfer it to something totally different 😁

    • @LGBKAI
      @LGBKAI 6 лет назад +2

      No. TortoiseSVN is an application. Github is a repository hoster. At 9:20 he also says that github is something different than the git software. TortoiseSVN is more like TortoiseGit or SourceTree.
