Personally wouldn't advise getting Quail, (I know in this video they were pigeons but im talking about actual quail) we had a couple and even tho we got them as chicks and frequently handled them, they were always wild. When they felt cornered they would fly into our faces, and they were so loud, not to mention they did not really lay eggs much - though we only got them for fun so that wasn't a big concern. The only situation I'd recommend em for would be free ranging over a wide area with tame chickens to get bugs and stuff. We eventually ended up giving them to someone who had a flock of quail. Side note, I loved this video! You're getting so good at editing and stuff!
It would be interesting to have a pet skunk! I agree with you about turkeys; they are dumb. We raised them one year to have for Thanksgiving dinner. We also sold a couple to friends of ours for their Thanksgiving dinner too. I don’t think we will ever do it again.
I would take home all of the black kittens. I’m not sure if you are aware but unfortunately black cats are often overlooked. It’s hard to believe in this day and age. So, I hope you plan to keep the little black kittens you have or make sure you find good homes for them. I’m dedicated to always adopt black cats. 🐈⬛ they have great personalities!
i know rhea are not so common so alot of people don't know alot about them, but they are not emu, they are rhea from south america, they arnt as big as emu, but they are south americas ostrich/emu which is so cute
That swap looked super fun to go to and see all of the different animals! We might go to an animal sale barn in the morning and I'm super excited! I would have probably bought some of the Kune Kune pigs because I've been wanting some for a while! I had one but gave him away because he was a runt and never grew, so he didn't really have a use for my farm. The mini donkeys were adorable too! I had a couple given to me but I got rid of them too because they didn't have a use for my farm either lol
KuneKunes are the cutest pigs ever in my opinion! You could sell the piglets for $100 each which might be a good investment. They also eat grass so they don't need a whole lot of feed. I'd love to see a video or a short of the sale if you go!!
I feel the same way. We raised quality pyrenees for a few years then fixed all our dogs. There were a lot of puppies for sure. Some of them were quality animals with loving owners and some were hard to see. Thank you for watching!
@@EvelynsFarmDiaries nothing wrong with quality breeders! Thank you for not over-breeding your personal dogs and getting them fixed. That's what a responsible owner does.
@miatapony16 Don't blame people who breed quality animals for the improperly breed ones in shelter! Backyard breeders are not imimproperly breeding not everyone wants a untrustworthy shelter animal some people want to know what they are buying
@jcgjcg3844 Clearly you didn't read my comment. Maybe look up the definition of a backyard breeder. The reason there are so many animals in shelters is DUE to backyard breeders who do not do the proper health and genetic testing of their animals and breed "mutts". RESPONSIBLE and ETHICAL breeders aren't the issue here. I have two rescue dogs who I love dearly. When you're getting a backyard bred dog you're supporting unethical breeding and have no idea what your getting. Do some research
This looked like so much fun! While I’m not surprised that a lot of the animals weren’t in good condition, I am kind of shocked at how healthy a lot of those puppies were. We go to auctions and things like this and a lot of times the puppies aren’t very healthy. 😢 As always I loved the video! 🫶
This was such an interesting video, Evelyn! Loved seeing all the animals (especially ones we're not used to seeing!) and hearing your opinion on everything. All the puppies were sooo cute, I would've bought them all 😭🥰
It’s sad to see all the BYB dogs & goats. I breed ADGA registered Nigerians, 300 is a fantastic price for a registered exposed doe. I can’t find anything for under 400 in my area. But I’m also very specific about what I breed. My goats are evaluated and if they don’t make the cut for a breeding quality goat they are sold as pets. I’d be interested to go to a meet like this but I’d be scared of the diseases the animals may have such as the goats having CAE, CL and Johnnes disease
I totally agree with you! 300 is about the average price around here for a registered bred doe. I just don't have a need for her at the moment. Thanks for watching!
@@EvelynsFarmDiaries I get that, a bred registered doe in my state goes for about 500. I sell registered kids at 350-800. My friend sells hers for about 2k per kid. Once you get into more high quality genetics the price goes up dramatically
Love your channel but as a animal lover I’m sure you can see these enclosures are not right or fair to the animals even though they are temporary, the bunnies and peacock can’t even turn around! I would love to know your thoughts on this as for me this was a hard watch ☹️
Yeah, I do feel bad. But I know a lot of these owners care for their animals. Most of them looked really healthy and taken care of! Thank you for watching!
The reason peacocks are actually transported in tight like that are actually for their own safety. If they are able to turn around and move, they can cause serious damage to their wings, tails and the rest of their body. So that is why they put them in boxes that are just big enough for them to stand up and lay down. peacocks are very nervous Birds so not only does the tighter space make them feel safe but that way they are not nervously rubbing themselves up against the cage and harming themselves
Just to clarify, It's not an auction. People will bring their animals that they possibly want to sell. You can talk to the owners as long as you want and buy it if you want to. If you brought animals too, you can trade with somebody. If the animals aren't sold they go back home to their original homes. Most of the animals there were well loved and taken care of. So, it's nothing like an auction and much better for the animals.
‘Emoos’ do people actually think that’s how it’s pronounced? No hate of course, just curious And $300 for a registered, possibly pregnant Nigerian? What a steal! They were only imported to Australia in 2014 so a registered 100% Nigerian doe who is possibly pregnant to another 100% could go for $4000-7500 here. My goatie mentor sells her 35.5-67.25% doelings for $875, which is a pretty decent price here

Finally some wholesome farm content that actually shows how farms work. Great content, God bless.
